Cultivating Disciples to Breakthrough – Chapter 117

117 Rain Sword Art

Chapter 117: Rain Sword Art

Drawing back his sword, Xuan Hao decided to use a sword attack that he was more familiar with compared to the one in the Untold Sword Mantra that he could only barely execute.

The Sword art in question was part of one of the few Heaven Rank sword arts of the Flying Sword Sect, called the Rain Sword.

In the past, the sword art had been found by one of the ancestors of the Flying Sword Sect and had later been given over to the Pagoda of Enlightenment.

The sword art was split into three different attacks, Misty Rain, Spring Rain and finally Cloudburst.

Xuan Hao did not dare to wait for any longer as he immediately appeared only a few meters away from where the Sect Master of the Black Rose Sect was standing as he slashed down.

“Cloudburst!”

Xuan Hao mustered all his qi as he used the final move of the Rain Sword, Cloudburst. Even though the sword attack was normally not something that he would be able to use with his current strength, Xuan Hao knew that if he did not injure the Sect master of the Black Rose Sect now, there would not be a chance to do so in future.

Especially now that he had already been ambushed once, it was unlikely for him to give another chance for something like that to happen within a short amount of time.

Sword qi formed around the sword together with Xuan Hao’s sword intent as a streak of sword light exploded forwards towards the Sect Master.

Together with the sword light the sound of rain could be faintly heard, as the Sect Master of the Black Rose Sect briefly felt like he was engulfed in the middle of a terrifying rainstorm that could wipe him out at any moment.

This illusion only lasted for a brief moment, but it was more than enough time as Xuan Hao’s sword attack reached the Sect Master.

BOOM!

A violent explosion ensued, as the sword qi gathered inside of the sword light exploded outwards just as it was about to hit the Sect Master, raining down on the area surrounding the Sect Master and the Sect Master himself.

“Argh!” Letting out a pitiful scream, the Sect Master quickly retreated from the area of the sword rain, but it was already too late as the sword qi had managed to penetrate deep into his body, if he were too slow, the sword qi would have penetrated his soul and directly killed him on the spot!

“Sect Master!” A loud yell could be heard as the first of the Nascent Soul Realm Experts of the Black Rose Sect had made his way back to the sect. The first thing that he saw upon coming to the underground palace was the Sect Master getting hit by countless small sword lights raining down on him from above, followed by his scream and him retreating.

The Nascent Soul Expert completely ignored Xuan Hao, as he quickly made his way over to the Sect Master to make sure that he was fine.

Xuan Hao did not wait along for the rest of the Black Rose Sects Nascent Soul Realm Experts to appear as he quickly turned around and made his way into the underground palace where Chu Yang and Elder Skinling were currently located.

“Hm? He fainted…?” Looking at the unconscious Chu Yang, Xuan Hao grabbed him and turned over to see Elder Skinling looking at him with eyes full of fear.

Back then, Xuan Hao had promised to help him get out of the Demonic Black Rose Sect without them sending people to hunt him down in the future.

After he had experienced how ruthless the current Sect Master was and how little his life mattered to the higher-ups, Elder Skinling wanted to quit and just return to being a normal cultivator, even being a wandering cultivator without any backing would be better than staying in the Demonic Black Rose Sect in his eyes!

“A-are you still g-going to help me…?” Feeling extremely nervous when he was standing in front of Xuan Hao, Elder Skinling barely manged to ask what he wanted to. The last few minutes of his life had been the most chaotic and terrifying it had ever been, even the chase a few days ago where he lost both his arms wasn’t as scary!

“Of course, they will most likely not try and search for you over the next few weeks, so you should have more than enough time to escape to another kingdom…” Seeing Elder Skinling’s hopeful eyes, Xuan Hao decided to do as he promised and quickly grabbed onto Elder Skinling before jumping on his sword, quickly making his escape out of the Black Rose Sect through the hole that he entered through.

The guards stationed on the few platforms at the side had already grown terrified as they carefully tried to see what was happening in the Black Rose Sect below them.

Xuan Hao’s sudden appearance from below flying caused them to quickly scatter, as they tried their best to hide away in the small cracks of the wall, it was only half an hour after they were sure Xuan Hao was gone that they made their way back out.

What happened in the Sect?

All of the guards were confused and scared as they quickly abandoned their posts and made their way down into the sect to find out what happened.

“Who was it!?” A few minutes after Xuan Hao had escaped, the Sect Master of the Black Rose Sect’s voice echoed through the enormous underground cave, the few Nascent Soul Elders took a bit distance from the Sect Master, scared he might take out his anger at them.

“We don’t know, but it looks like Elder Skinling helped him set up a trap of some sort…” A wise looking elder bravely stepped forward as he explained.

“Skinling…! How did the preparations for the grand ritual go…?” Narrowing his eyes filled with killing intent, the Sect Master still managed to calm down as he asked about the thing that the other Nascent Soul Elders of the Black Rose Sect had been working on.

“We managed to finish the preparations… But without the Devil-Immortal Jade-”

“Enough! I already reached the Second Demonic Transformation! When I recover, I should be able to complete the ritual without the Devil-Immortal Jade! Before then, we will close off the Sect and not bother with the outside world…” Interrupting the answer by one of the elders, the Sect Master turned around and made his way back to the half-destroyed palace.

“Just you wait damnable sword cultivator! I will get my revenge after I recover! And find out where you are! And… who you are…” Realizing that he had no idea who had attacked him in the first place, the Sect Master fell into a sudden state of confusion as he could only sigh to himself before returning to his now destroyed throne room.

CREATORS’ THOUGHTS

PurpleSpring

This chapter took me way too much time to write and all that stuff, but I gained quite a lot from the research i did and should be able to come up with names for techniques, combat arts, mantras and so on more easily now.

Sorry for the delay, I hope you enjoyed the chapter, even if it was, as always short 🙂
