Chapter 1264: Expanding the Intelligence Network of the Star Shattering Sect
Heading back to the Star Shattering Sect after he had managed to secure a new friend for the Star Shattering Sect, while at the same time resolving the problem of having to worry about powerful demonic cultivators invading the territory of the Star Shattering Sect in the near future, Xuan Hao began pondering about whether to change the task he had assigned Su Wuhan to.
However, after thinking things through and realizing that the sect still needed a warning system against those weaker demonic cultivators he decided against it.
Not to mention, with Su Wuhan around to give off the image of the Star Shattering Sect already being attacked by someone in the True Demon Realm, it would make it less likely for more demonic cultivators in the True Demon Realm to show up and cause trouble.
The only real problem he still had to solve regarding Su Wuhan, was the fact that he would most likely end up being killed when the experts from the Blue Sea Empire showed up. So, before that, he either had to find a way to hide him while the experts from the Blue Sea Empire flew by or just give up on him and have the experts from the Blue Sea Empire kill him.
Although this would be considered a loss for the sect, as someone in the True Demon Realm under their control was still someone incredibly useful, it couldn’t be considered anything that would affect the sect, as Su Wuhan had ultimately just become part of the sect intelligence network a few days earlier and had yet to be introduced to Elder Dust Fairy who was in charge of the sect’s intelligence gathering and management.
Guess I will cross that hill when the time comes. If it inconvenient to keep him, I will just let the Blue Sea Empire deal with him…
Shaking his head as he thought this to himself, Xuan Hao didn’t bother thinking about Su Wuhan’s fate any longer, as he arrived back at the Star Shattering Sect’s borders. Not wasting any time as he checked up on both Su Wuhan and the winged lion demon beast before he made his way back to the sect.
After his battle with Xuan Gui, he had increased his comprehension of the Dao of the Sword by quite a bit and intended to spend the next few weeks consolidating his gains from the battle.
Whoosh~
As Xuan Hao was making his way back to the sect, Su Wuhan happened to catch a glimpse of him before he disappeared, causing a flurry of complicated emotions to appear on his face, who had now essentially become a tool for the Star Shattering Sect to watch out for any incoming powerful demonic cultivators.
Although he wanted to complain about his current situation, there wasn’t much he could say when he remembered his situation beforehand, where he had been a puppet for the powerful demonic cultivators in continuing their attacks against the powers surrounding the Frozen Wasteland until the experts from the Blue Sea Empire appeared to kill him.
Not just that, but his only choice to escape from such a sad fate was to join an unknown demonic sect that seemed to have been secretly guiding him into becoming a demonic cultivator before he became the king of the Azure Sky Kingdom.
All things considered, he doubted his fate would be much better following such a demonic sect, as they had most likely nurtured him and helped his cultivation because some powerful demonic cultivator’s lifespan was about to reach and end and he or she needed a new body or something along that line.
Looking at things positively, at least the Star Shattering Sect wasn’t a demonic sect, and he wouldn’t have to worry about someone trying to possess his body. On the negative side of things, the Star Shattering Sect wasn’t a demonic sect, making it close to impossible for a demonic cultivator like himself to join.
In the end, he could only silently pray that the Star Shattering Sect wouldn’t just throw him to the experts from the Blue Sea Empire when they appeared to clean up the situation in a year.
Unfortunately for him, he had no idea that Xuan Hao hadn’t thought about this and had instead just kicked the issue down the line. Not intending to waste any time trying to figure out how to hide a demonic cultivator from the Blue Sea Empire. Especially so considering that he would also need to make sure that Pei Yang was properly hidden when those experts from the Blue Sea Empire appeared.
After all, if they found out that Pei Yang was part of the Star Shattering Sect now that the sect was still far from strong enough to face the Blue Sea Empire, there wouldn’t be any way for them to endure the attack from one of the Blue Sea Empire’s Celestial Immortal Realm ancestors.
…
Returning to the Star Shattering Sect, Xuan Hao decided to first pay Elder Dust Fairy a visit and inform her about the situation with Su Wuhan before handing her a seal that would allow her to control the restriction that he had left behind inside Su Wuhan. Essentially handing him over for her to deal with if she wanted to change anything regarding the situation he had arranged.
“Handing me… A True Demon Realm demonic cultivator!?”
Of course, learning about the situation and the fact that she was now in control of someone in the True Demon Realm, a being comparable to a Soul Ascension Realm cultivator, Elder Dust Fairy could not help trembling in fear as she looked at the small seal engraved into a simple jade that directly allowed her to connect and control the restriction Xuan Hao had left behind in Su Wuhan.
“Yes, I’m sure you will make great use of him to grow the intelligence gathering capabilities of our sect in the territory of the demonic cultivators.” Not explaining the situation any further, Xuan Hao essentially gave her a thumbs up in encouragement before leaving.
“…”
Leaving Elder Dust Fairy in a rather complicated emotional state as she stared at the small jade in her hand. Not knowing how to even begin building up an intelligence network in the territory of the demonic cultivators that Xuan Hao had casually mentioned to her before leaving.
No! He entrusted a True Demon Realm demonic cultivator to me for this! I’m sure I will be able to expand our intelligence network into the Frozen Wasteland where the demonic cultivators reside. All I have to do is make good use of this demonic cultivator given to me!
Filled with determination as she thought this to herself, Elder Dust Fairy arranged for someone to watch over the management of the servant quarters and her other duties in the sect before she headed off in the direction of the Star Shattering Sect’s border with the Onyx Empire where the True Demon Realm demonic cultivator now under her control was located.
Even if Xuan Hao hadn’t meant it latterly when he told her to build up the sect’s intelligence gathering capabilities in the territory of the demonic cultivators and instead simply meant to keep an eye on Su Wuhan and ensure he kept them informed in case anything big happened, Elder Dust Fairy had become determined to do just that.
No… Not just that, she wanted to truly expand the intelligence gathering capabilities of the Star Shattering Sect with the help of Su Wuhan, as she would now have the ability to also make use of him to use the demonic cultivators that would never be linked back to the Star Shattering Sect as long as Su Wuhan being under the sect’s control didn’t come to light.
Feeling increasingly inspired on her way to the border where Su Wuhan was located, Elder Dust Fairy even began using her influence in the sect to begin tracking down potential demonic cultivators hiding inside the territory of the Star Shattering Sect who might be of use considering their abilities to sneak past the Domain Lord Realm cultivators guarding the borders of the sect.
Of course, she didn’t intend for these demonic cultivators to stay in the territory of the Star Shattering Sect and instead intended to send them into the neighboring territories to gather information for the sect.
In the end, the chaos caused be Elder Dust Fairy’s preparations caused quite a stir among the elders of the sect, as none of them had any clue what she was up to and at the same time knew that it should be something important.
Unfortunately, none of the elders would ever find out about what she was up to outside of Elder Song and a few other important members of the sect, as the matter of getting involved with demonic cultivators wasn’t really something that was seen positively by most people on the continent.
The only real reason why Elder Song and the rest accepted it, was because they knew about the restriction Xuan Hao had placed on Su Wuhan and the fact that they were confident that Elder Dust Fairy wouldn’t make any mistakes in this matter.
