Chapter 129: Unlucky Inner Elder…
” We will go to the Third Star Peak of the Shattered Star Peaks, from what is written on the map, the Third Star Peak is the highest Peak that we can climb before the qi starts to become too violent.” Looking over the map of the Shattered Star Peaks, Xuan Hao decided that they would go up the Third Star Peak.
The map of the Shattered Star Peaks was not as detailed as the rest of the star peaks outside the main peak and second peak of the Shattered Star Peaks where it was impossible for someone below the Domain Lord Realm to venture.
The Reason Xuan Hao decided to go up the Third Star Peak with his disciples was not only because it was the highest peak that he could travel up together with his disciples, but also because the Third Star Peak was said to have many unique herbs and other plants growing on it.
Xuan Hao did manage to learn a bit about the Shattered Star Peaks back in the sect, but he did not really have a map available to him back then and did not know where many of the things that he had read about were located on the Shattered Star Peaks.
Now it seemed that they were located on the Third Star Peak!
Officially, Xuan Hao had wanted to take his disciples out on a trip to the Shattered Star Peaks at some point after he found a map of the area, but since the opportunity presented itself in front of him, Xuan Hao decided to just visit the Flying Sword Sect’s Branch along the way together with his disciples.
“Are both of you ready to go?” Seeing Qing Yi still focused on the map of the Shattered Star Peaks, Xuan Hao called out as Qing Yi came back to her senses again.
“Yes master!” Chu Yang responded, closely followed by Qing Yi, who put away her notebook as all three of them made their way back out of the Flying Sword Sect’s Branch under the guidance of the guard.
“Farewell Elder Xuan, may you have a great journey up the Shattered Star Peaks!” Bowing ever so slightly in the direction of Xuan Hao, the guard returned back to his post where the other guard was still standing.
Xuan Hao and his two disciples were already too far away by this point, so only Xuan Hao manged to hear the goodbye of the guard before a group of explorers stopped a little in front of the Flying Sword Sect’s Branch to discuss something, blocking the view of the guard.
Can’t you just say goodbye like any normal person? Why wait until we are out of sight?
Shaking his head, Xuan Hao did not think about the guard any longer as they made their way towards the entrance of the Shattered Star Peaks located at the place where the Star Peak Town met with the Ninth Star Peak of the Shattered Star Peaks.
This was the smallest of the nine Star Peaks, but even then, it still stretched far into the sky as the clouds above prevented one from truly seeing how tall the Ninth Star Peak was.
…
Back in the Flying Sword Sect, the disciples located in the core area of the sect were running around nervously as they looked up at the mountain peak where the Vice Sect Master’s pavilion was located from time to time. Fear evident in their eyes as they did their best to avoid the mountain altogether, even some of the Vice Sect Master’s disciples had fearfully run away as they observed the pavilion from a distance.
“What’s happening here!? Did the Vice Sect Master Zu Fei do something to scare her disciples and the rest of the disciples of the sect away?” One of the Inner Elders of the Flying Sword Sect asked one of the female disciples passing by in a curious voice.
“Ah, Elder! From what I heard one of the Sect Master’s old friends came by and the Vice Sect Master is currently entertaining the guest!” Answering the question at a speed that the elder could barely follow, the female disciple ran away before the Inner Elder in question could even comprehend what was going on.
“…” What in the world, why are they so scared if the Vice Sect Master is just entertaining one of the Sect Master’s old friends… Hm, I have something to report to the Vice Sect Master anyway, so I will check and see what is so terrifying about this old friend of the Sect Master.
Not knowing what he was about to walk into, the newly promoted Inner Elder of the Flying Sword Sect made his way up to the Vice Sect Master’s pavilion.
“W-what happened here!?” Looking at the half-destroyed pavilion in front of him, the Inner Elder shivered to himself. Maybe the Guest and the Vice Sect Master had gotten into a fight, so the disciples had decided to run away until things calmed down again?
Thinking about this, the Inner Elder put on a serious face as he cautiously proceeded inside the now destroyed entrance of the Vice Sect Master’s pavilion.
The inside of the pavilion was not much better, as the Inner Elder felt like he had walked inside one of the ancient sect ruins scattered all over the Ewaria Continent from past sects or hidden clans that had fallen into ruin over the years.
Back when he was young, the Inner Elder had once managed to explore the ruins of an ancient long forgotten sect. The hallway in front of him, reminded him of the ruined hallway in front of him, although without the overgrowth and all kinds of decay caused by time.
Maybe the ruins he had explored looked like what he saw in front of him before it was forgotten and left to decay…
“An Inner Elder? Come here and state why you are here!” Unknowingly, the Inner Elder already made his way to the inner section of the pavilion when a voice suddenly came out from the area in front of him.
Looking ahead, the Inner Elder froze in place as his face became pale with fear.
In front of him, he saw two incredibly beautiful women, who seemed like two Immortal Fairy’s that had descended from heaven.
But this was not what caused the Inner Elder to turn pale, no, it was the fact that there was two women in front of him! Did this not mean the Sect Master’s old friend was a woman…?
Recognizing one of the two as the Vice Sect Master, the Inner Elder finally understood why the disciples tried avoiding the area like the plague.
“What are you waiting for, come and state what reason you came for! I have a guest to entertain!” Calling out to the Inner Elder again in an annoyed tone, the Inner Elder felt death approaching as he made his way over to the small table where the Vice Sect Master and the guest were sitting.
The guest in question did not say anything and just observed as the Inner Elder made his way over, shivering the whole way.
I-I’m dead, aren’t I…?
This was all the Inner Elder could think as he came to a stop in front of the Vice Sect Master. Hopefully, the Vice Sect Master would just let him go and not punish him for entering her personal quarters without permission…
Yeah… No hope for survival…
