Cultivating Disciples to Breakthrough – Chapter 1313

1313 Hiding Among The Ruins

Chapter 1313: Hiding Among The Ruins

As her master was wandering around the edge of the mystic realm looking for the teleportation formation, he believed she had accidentally walked into, Mui was hiding away inside the ruins of a small house that had half its roof missing.

Since she found herself in the large ancient city and heard the loud bestial roar in the distance, she had managed to somehow establish a friendly relationship with the demon beasts that had come along with her to the ancient city, as they were similar hiding away from the owner.

Roar…

At this point, it had already been a week since she had arrived in the massive ancient city and she had long since become familiar with the different demon beasts, who, like her, were trying to find a way out of the ancient city.

It was because of this, that Mui didn’t end up jumping forward to kill the demon beast that suddenly popped in through the broken door frame of the small house, but instead just tactically nodded her head in the direction of the demon beasts before going back to vigilantly keeping an eye on the large street outside the small house.

If it was the past, she would have tried to kill the demon beast, as it was only around the Fourth Stage of the Nascent Soul Realm. However, she knew that engaging in a fight would inevitably end up drawing the attention of the terrifying demon beast she had heard back when she first appeared in the massive ancient city.

Although she didn’t get a chance to see the demon beast back then, she still felt the fluctuations of its fight with one of the Domain Lord Realm demon beasts that had been chasing after her… And to say it was terrifying would be an understatement.

In terms of strength alone, she was certain that whatever demon beast was lurking in the ancient city should be above the Domain Lord Realm.

Because of this, even though she had been locked in a fight with a group of Nascent Soul Realm demon beasts back then, she had ended up coming to an alliance with them after they learnt about the terrifying demon beasts lurking inside the ancient city. Especially when they had all sensed that it was moving in their direction due to the fluctuations created by their battle.

Luckily, though not all the Nascent Soul Realm demon beasts from back then managed to get away safely like her, those that did get away informed the rest of the demon beasts about their truce. Resulting in Mui not having to fight any of the demon beasts she encountered along the way, saving her from possibly attracting the attention of the terrifying demon beast lurking in the ancient city.

“Hopefully I will be able to get out of this place soon…” Muttering this to herself as she kept her gaze focused on the large street outside through a small crack in the wall, Mui could not help feeling optimistic, as the size of the ruins around her had been decreasing in size over the past few days. Possibly indicating that she was getting closer to the edge of the city.

The only problem was that the terrifying demon beast roaming the ancient city had also moved in the same direction as her, something she had become certain of, as she sensed it whenever it found and killed one of the demon beasts that had been chasing her only a week earlier.

It was also for this reason that she was currently keeping her attention focused on the large street outside the small house, as she had sensed the terrifying demon beast killing another one of the demon beasts in the direction not too long.

Roar…

Knowing about the dangerous situation they were in as well, the demon beast that had just sought refuge inside the small house together with her also made its way over to her, as it similarly looked out the small crack in the wall.

Of course, given that Mui was occupying most of the available space, it had to squeeze under her to get a good look out of the crack. Not something Mui minded, as the demon beast in question was a rather fluffy wolf demon beast.

On the other hand, it instead provided a rather good pillow to lean on as she stared out the small crack without moving a single muscle, something she had been doing for the past two hours before the arrival of the fluffy wolf demon beast.

Whoosh~

After spending a few minutes relaxing on top of the fluffy wolf demon beast and almost feeling like she was about to fall asleep after not having had any time to relax or sleep off her exhaustion for the past week, Mui suddenly felt a gentle breeze drifting through the large street outside. Bringing with it a heavy fog that soon made it impossible for Mui or the wolf demon beast to see anything outside the small house, considering that their divine sense was rendered useless inside the ancient city.

Thump~

However, this didn’t stop them from hearing the distinct sound of something large moving along the street in the direction that they had been looking.

Thump~ Thump~

Not just that, but whatever it was, it was clearly getting closer to them… And given that there was only one thing Mui, and the wolf demon beast could think of that would make such thumping sound when moving, they both quietly retreated away from the crack in the wall before both of leaned up against the half-destroyed wall of the small house that was the only thing standing between them and the street outside.

Of course, with the situation possibly being life threatening, Mui had already taken out one of the talismans that her master had given to her for self-protection in case the thing outside ended up discovering them, something that both Mui and the wolf demon beast hoped wouldn’t happen.

Thump~!

Unfortunately, fate wasn’t on their side, as the two of them felt the large creature, demon beast or whatever it was, had come to a stop just outside the small house that they happened to be hiding inside of at the moment. Making Mui tighten her grip around her master’s talisman even further, as she had already begun mobilizing her qi to activate the talisman.

Thump~

However, before she had a chance to throw out the talisman, the creature outside turned around and continued its journey along the street like nothing had happened. Only leaving behind the loud thumping sounds as it slowly moved away from them.

“…”

Not knowing what to say as she still gripped the talisman in her hand. Ready to activate it. Mui could only look helplessly towards the wolf demon beast hiding together with her before she pulled back her qi and prevented it from actually activating the talisman.

It should have clearly noticed us at that time… Why did it leave?

Not able to understand how they had just managed to get out of that situation without any problems, Mui could not help feeling like something was wrong, as she put away her master’s talisman before slowly moving up to the crack in the wall to peek through it in the direction that the strange creature had been moving in.

Planning to try and see if she could catch a glimpse of it before it disappeared into the fog that seemed to be following it.

“Huh…?”

However, when she really did look out of the small crack in the wall and managed to catch a glimpse of the creature, Mui was shocked to discover that it wasn’t a demon beast that had been hunting them down one by one.

Instead, it was some kind of mechanical looking wolf that she could describe as a far more sophisticated golem than the ones she had seen moving around back in the Star Shattering Sect.

After all, the golems in the Star Shattering Sect were rather rudimentary and only carried out rather basic tasks such as carrying out some menial tasks. Far from being comparable to the mechanical wolf shaped golem that wandered around the ancient city with strength that possibly surpassed the Domain Lord Realm.

Of course, the Star Shattering Sect wasn’t entirely to blame for the fact that it didn’t have any strong golems around, as the profession of golem or puppet creation was a rather rare one across the Ewaria Continent.

Even at this point in time, the Star Shattering Sect had only managed to recruit two people skilled in the art of golem creation.

One in the Nascent Soul Realm, while the other was in the Earlier Stage of the Foundation Establishment Realm, a master and disciple pair that had ended up joining the Star Shattering Sect and currently stood for the maintenance and production of all golems found in the Star Shattering Sect.

Far from being close to having the ability to create a golem like the one she was looking at…
