Chapter 231: Entering Closed Door Meditation
After entering the registration building that had only recently been established, Xuan Hao quickly went through the procedures for making Bai Ning a disciple of the Flying Sword Sect.
Normally, something like just getting someone random registered without going through any test first would not be allowed, but given the fact that Xuan Hao was a Core Elder, he could at least use his authority to get someone accepted as a disciple.
It was not like the Flying Sword Sect lacked resources in the first place and after the Beast Tamers lost a large part of their resources recently, there was even more spirit stones and other rare resources for the disciples to use.
Xuan Hao had even heard a few elders talking about Elder Song using a lot of the recently acquired resources from the Beast Tamers to hold a lot of different tournaments and competition for all the disciples to join in on a participate in.
The disciples also seemed to really enjoy the tournaments and competition Elder Song came up with as the overall atmosphere of the Flying Sword Sect had improved a lot from how it had been just after news of the plague had spread.
Xuan Hao did not really have much to say in regard to this, as the plague had mostly been dealt with inside of the Heavenly Sky Kingdom at this point and it did not seem like he would have to go out and fight with the people from the church of the Plague God to destroy the source of the plague if things continued like they did now.
The only places where it was still a big problem, was around the central region where the Imperial Capital was located and the western region where the Seven Fates Sect were. The Flying Sword Sect, along with the Spring Flower Sect and Raging Flame Sect no longer had any problems with the plague as it almost completely disappeared from their regions by this point.
Xuan Hao would not be so foolish as to go out and offend the church of the Plague God, if the Flying Sword Sect was not affected by the Plague… It was simply way too dangerous.
The church of the Plague God was after all an entity that operated across the entire Ewaria Continent and could not be easily offended even by the big empires, let alone Xuan Hao himself…
Shaking his head upon thinking about this, Xuan Hao decided to throw it to the back of his mind as he soon arrived in front of his pavilion together with Bai Ning.
Even though Xuan Hao had not taken him in as his own disciple, he did indeed have plans of taking him in as a personal disciple in the soon to be future. After all, his talent was not lacking, and he seemed like an easy-going type that would not cause too much trouble for him.
With this in mind, Xuan Hao had decided to let him stay at his pavilion and get along with Qing Yi and Chu Yang while getting used to the Flying Sword Sect.
There was only one thing Xuan Hao had forgotten…
“Hah… W-Why is this place so… Hah… High up… Hah…” An exhausted voice could be heard behind him as Xuan Hao turned around with an awkward look on his face upon spotting Bai Ning who had collapsed on the ground behind him in exhaustion.
He had truly forgotten… Bai Ning had not practiced any cultivation mantra yet and was still a normal mortal without any extraordinary powers that cultivators had.
Even with Xuan Hao carrying him most of the way up the mountain, Bai Ning was still way too exhausted to even take a single step forward as he had collapsed on the ground in front of the pavilion.
Standing at the entrance to the pavilion as she was using a broom to sweep away a few leaves that had blown down from a few trees planted just beside the pavilion, Zhi Ruo spotted Xuan Hao along with Bai Ning the moment they appeared as she put away her broom before quickly making her way over.
“Welcome back Elder Xuan! Is this perhaps a new disciple? My name is Zhi Ruo, I’m the servant under Elder Xuan’s first disciple, Qing Yi and mainly spend the time making sure the splendid pavilion before you stay clean!” Bowing her head with a smile on her lips as she greeted Xuan Hao, Zhi Ruo formally introduced herself to Bai Ning before she gave a small bow to him as well.
“I-I’m Bai Ning, h-hello big sister Zhi Ruo!” Nervously introducing himself as he was a bit shy upon seeing Zhi Ruo coming up to greet them.
“Zhi Ruo, can you get a room for him to stay in?”
“Yes, Elder Xuan!”
Not sensing any of his two other disciples present inside the pavilion or on the training ground, Xuan Hao decided to just let Zhi Ruo settle Bai Ning after making sure he would be fine without him around.
Whoosh~
With nothing more to do as Zhi Ruo began talking together with Bai Ning and introduce different places in the pavilion to him, Xuan Hao entered the pavilion and headed in the direction of his own room.
Before meeting with his two disciples, Xuan Hao decided to use the treasures that he had managed to bring back with him and see how far he could go.
Even if the two of them returned, they would most likely want to know something about what he had been doing over the last few weeks and the only person who knew something about it was Bai Ning.
This way, his two disciples would be able to get along with their future junior brother as both of them would seek him out to learn about what their master had been up to over the past few weeks.
“Haha, that is indeed a great plan, though I do feel like I forgot something… Well, I will probably remember it if it’s something important.”
Laughing to himself as he thought about his brilliant plan for getting his two disciples to interact with their future junior brother, Xuan Hao directly entered closed door meditation.
…
At the same time, inside a small courtyard of the Flying Sword Sect, Chi Hu was quietly meditating as he suddenly looked up and looked in the direction of the entrance of the courtyard.
“Elder, what can I help with…?” Looking over at the female figure approaching, Chi Hu suddenly felt a shiver run down his spine as he clearly remembered that she was the same person that he encountered when first entering the Flying Sword Sect’s territory.
After being confined to the small courtyard, this person had repeatedly come over to poke fun at him! Even to this day, Chi Hu still had no idea who the mature looking beauty was.
The only thing that he could guess himself to, was the fact that the person in front of him was a core elder of the Flying Sword Sect. At least that was the only explanation that he could come up with.
“Hello again, it seems like Elder Xuan just returned to the Flying Sword Sect.” Smiling as she said this, Shu Yao approached Chi Hu.
Chi Hu suddenly felt a wave of happiness wash over him as he clearly remembered that the only reason why he was barred from moving anywhere inside the Flying Sword Sect was because Elder Xuan Hao had not returned yet to clarify things for him.
“He returned!? Then I will finally be able to leave thi-”
“But…”
“B-but…?”
Suddenly being interrupted by Shu Yao, Chi Hu felt that something was wrong as he watched the teasing expression suddenly appear on her face while she looked over at him.
Chi Hu felt a strange sense of foreboding, as he knew nothing good would come out of her mouth at this point, but he still felt curious as he focused on listening to what Shu Yao was going to say.
“But it seems like he immediately entered closed door meditation the moment he reached his pavilion… Looks like you will have to stay here for a little longer until he comes back out again! No worries, I will be sure to come and keep you company every now and then~” Saying this, Shu Yao turned around and smiled to herself as she began leaving the small courtyard while chuckling upon remembering the priceless look that Chi Hu had given her earlier.
To be honest, Shu Yao had already determined that Chi Hu was most likely speaking the truth, but she had found it increasingly fun to come over and tease him from time to time and so it was decided by her that she would keep Chi Hu and whoever the other person was, until Xuan Hao returned and took him away.
“Wh-what!? Closed door meditation!?” Exclaiming this loudly as a shocked expression appeared on his face, Chi Hu could only watch as Shu Yao smiled at him before slowly turning to leave.
The treasure hunter alchemist did not pay any attention to the interaction between Chi Hu and Shu Yao and was just quietly drinking a cup of tea as he enjoyed a few cute pastries that Shu Yao had come with earlier in the day.
He had already grown used to it after the first three days and by now it had already been close to two weeks since they were confined to the courtyard…
The treasure hunter did not really care much about it, as he was free to relax while also being allowed to read some of the theory books on alchemy that the Flying Sword Sect had.
