Chapter 327: Finding an Old Friend of Chi Hu
Looking down on the lush forest below him, Xuan Hao felt a bit surprised upon noticing the large number of people searching for spiritual herbs inside of the forest.
Compared to the last time he had gone through the forest with Qing Yi and Chu Yang, there were far fewer people and Xuan Hao had not expected for there to be such a large influx of new people showing up to search for spiritual herbs… Maybe it was related to the collapse of the Heavenly Sky Kingdom?
Thinking about this, Xuan Hao decided to see if he could find anything in common between the people inside the lush forest below him and soon enough, he did find a similarity between a large part of the people searching for spiritual herbs.
The similarity in question, was the fact that most of the people had come from the collapsing Heavenly Sky Kingdom. Most of them had come to search for a new place to settle down, while others just hoped to earn a few spirit stones from gathering spiritual herbs at the Ninth Star Peak before leaving the territory of what was considered the Heavenly Sky Kingdom.
Even if that territory was not in the control of the Heavenly Sky Kingdom. The people still feared that sects like the Flying Sword Sect, Spring Flower Sect and Seven Fates Sect, would soon collapse just like the Heavenly Sky Kingdom…
After all, most ordinary cultivators and citizen of the Heavenly Sky Kingdom had no idea how the kingdom worked and just believed that the Royal Family was in control of everything inside of the Heavenly Sky Kingdom! After the collapse of the Royal Family of the Heavenly Sky Kingdom, it would only be natural for the rest of the territories under the Heavenly Sky Kingdom to collapse like they had…
There was some truth behind that belief, as most kingdoms were far stronger than the sects and other powers that existed inside their border and so, when those kingdoms fell, so would all the powers beneath them…
The Heavenly Sky Kingdom was an abnormality in that sense, where the sects were stronger than the Royal Family.
“Hm?”
Flying towards the Main Star Peak of the Shattered Star Peaks, Xuan Hao came to a stop above the Third Star Peak where he had met Chi Hu in the past before he broke through to the Nascent Soul Realm.
Back then, Chi Hu had come to the Third Star Peak to enter a final meditation. Attempting to breakthrough to the next major realm or die to the chaotic qi!
Xuan Hao remembered that Chi Hu had come together with a group of old friends and grew a bit curious, as he could not help himself from scanning the Third Star Peak with his divine sense.
A long time had already passed since he had been to the Third Star Peak and he doubted any of Chi Hu’s old friends would still be around, as most people who came to the Third Star Peak would at most last a single month before breaking through or dying to the chaotic qi.
Even if the lotus flower platform could protect the people cultivating on top of it to some degree from the chaotic qi, it was not able to completely protect them.
As a result, the people cultivating on top of the Third Star Peak would perish from the corrosion and other damaging effects brought on by absorbing the chaotic qi…
“One of them is actually still alive…?” Staring down towards a lotus flower platform located towards the edge of the summit, Xuan Hao could not help but exclaim in a surprised tone.
Among the elders that had gone up together with Chi Hu, Xuan Hao could clearly remember that each of them had been one step into the grave, while at the same time being at the Peak of the Core Formation Realm!
Even then, for one of them to have survived on top of the Third Star Peak… Xuan Hao felt a bit curious towards this individual…
Whoosh~
Secretly descending from above, Xuan Hao landed only a few meters away from the flower lotus platform that one of Chi Hu’s old friends were meditating on, it was also at this moment that Xuan Hao realized that the elder in question had managed to breakthrough into what could be considered the half a step into the Nascent Soul Realm.
“Hah… She is too weak to take the final step into the Nascent Soul Realm…”
The person in question was an elderly woman and after inspecting her current situation with his divine sense, Xuan Hao quickly found out why she had not broken through to the Nascent Soul Realm yet.
Her body had weakened far too much due to the corrosion of the chaotic qi and it was a wonder how she had managed to stay alive for so long.
If she broke through to the Nascent Soul Realm in her current state, Xuan Hao could easily predict her outcome. The Cloud Tribulation would descend and attempt to merge with her newly born Nascent Soul, this in turn would put an enormous stress on both her newly born Nascent Soul along with her half dead physical body… In the end, she would just end up dying after breaking through…
“Hm… Should I help her…?”
Taking out the last purification pill in his possession, Xuan Hao felt a bit conflicted.
On one side, he could give the purification pill to Chi Hu’s old friend. The purification pill would purge all the chaotic qi from her body and at the same time strengthen her soul. Allowing her to recover and have a chance at living through the Cloud Tribulation.
On the other side, he didn’t really know much about the old lady other than the fact that she was an old friend of Chi Hu, who had come to the Third Star Peak to take one last shot at trying to breakthrough and reach the next major realm.
Giving her his last purification pill seemed to be quite wasteful compared to giving it to someone from the Flying Sword Sect… But if he saved her, Chi Hu would surely be grateful towards him and the Flying Sword Sect. Maybe he could even convince her to join the Flying Sword Sect like her old friend Chi Hu…
“Hah… What to do?”
