Cultivating Disciples to Breakthrough – Chapter 407

407 Qing Yis Cloud Cover Potion and Winged Lion

Chapter 407: Qing Yi’s Cloud Cover Potion and Winged Lion

Whoosh~

Along with Xuan Hao helping Qing Yi with cooling down the potion mixture after she had finished adding in the last few spiritual herbs, Qing Yi’s first attempt at making a Cloud Cover Potion had officially finished!

Now all that was left for her to do was find out if the potion had come out well or she had made some sort of mistake along the way that ended up ruining the potion mixture…

“…”

Nervously inching forward as she looked over the still bubbly white and airy liquid that was a carbon copy of what her master had made, Qing Yi did not feel herself calming down in the slightest. After all, while the potion mixture looked the same, it could still have a widely different effect.

For example, if she had ended up making any sort of mistake during the preparation of the poisonous spiritual herbs, it might instead have become a deadly poison for any who consumed it…

Thinking about all of this, Qing Yi could not help but feel even more nervous as she watched how her master in her eyes, carelessly filled up an empty potion bottle with the potion mixture she had made before inspecting it for a few seconds and then swallowing the whole thing in front of her.

Even if she knew that the poison inside of the Death Willow Root and other poisonous spiritual herbs were not enough to harm her master, she still felt a bit afraid when he drank the potion mixture.

Pwoosh!

Just like it had done when she had taken the Cloud Cover Potion made by her master, Qing Yi watched as her master was covered in a thin layer of almost transparent clouds.

“Hm…”

Whoosh!

Pushing himself off the ground as he floated around the alchemy room for a bit, Xuan Hao soon stabilized himself on the ground before nodding his approvingly towards Qing Yi looking on from the side.

“I… I did it!”

Knowing that she had succeeded in making the Cloud Cover Potion, Qing Yi felt herself overcome with joy as she happily jumped into the air before quickly calming down again upon remembering the fact that her master was still present.

Having her master see her do something like that was quite embarrassing…

Wait… What about the time I floated around the room…?

Realizing just how embarrassing she had been just a few hours earlier when she had tried out the Cloud Cover Potion made by her master, Qing Yi could not help wanting to dig a hole for herself to jump into and hide away at the moment.

“Looks like it works perfectly without any weird side effects… Well done Qing Yi, you can take a break for now and get something to eat. The last few hours should have been quite hard on you, and you didn’t get anything to eat before we started.” Not paying any attention to the embarrassed look on Qing Yi’s face, Xuan Hao instead praised her Cloud Cover Potion before allowing her to leave for a break before they would continue.

“Thank you, master! I will be taking my leave!”

Whoosh~

Taking advantage of the fact that she had been given a chance to escape, Qing Yi quickly darted out of the alchemy room. Not daring to stay behind for even a second longer in case her master realized anything wrong with her.

“How interesting… It looks like this Cloud Cover Potion should be only slightly behind the one I made…” Too busy inspecting the Cloud Cover Potion made by Qing Yi to discover how weird she was just before she rushed to leave, Xuan Hao was completely oblivious to what had just transpired.

Yawn~!

At the same time Xuan Hao had just finished teaching Qing Yi, back at the Flying Sword Sect, the winged lion demon beast was lazily laying on a large rock basking in the sun on top of an almost empty mountain with only a few strong pine trees growing there.

After Xuan Hao had left, the winged lion didn’t feel like staying around Xuan Hao’s pavilion and decided to look around the Flying Sword Sect and find a more comfortable place to sleep.

In the end, it had found a lonely mountain located inside the mountain range surrounding the Flying Sword Sect and decided to stay there to pass time.

For the winged lion, it just wanted a good place to sleep and good food to eat whenever it was hungry.

In a sense, the winged lion felt like it had benefited from following Xuan Hao back to the Flying Sword Sect…

Not only was there a lot of nice mountains with great sleeping spots on them, but there would also always be someone ready to come deliver a well-prepared meal whenever it was needed…

“Roar?” Just when the winged lion was about to call for its daily meal to be delivered, a strong presence could be felt approaching the Flying Sword Sect.

The presence in question should have at least reached the Domain Lord realm! But in the eyes of the winged lion the presence approaching was still far from being strong enough to pose any threat to it.

Whoosh!

Instead of getting ready for a fight, the winged lion just sent a warning by using its own terrifying aura to show off its strength to the approaching presence. Hoping that the person in question would leave after having felt the difference between both of them…

Roar!?

However, much to the winged lion’s surprise, the presence did not slow down and instead continued approaching without showing any sign of stopping!

Feeling the presence still continue towards it, the winged lion narrowed both of its large eyes as it knew that it would not be able to get rid of the approaching person by just flexing its strength over a distance.

Swoosh~

Flapping both its large wings, the winged lion directly took off from the mountain top that it had been sleeping on top of. Heading directly towards the approaching presence.

The faster the annoying presence was dealt with, the faster it could return to the Flying Sword Sect and get to eat…

“Why does it rain so much today of all days?”

At the entrance of the Flying Sword City, a travelling merchant could not help but grumble to himself as he looked up at the rain the was violently pouring down in front of him.

“I should really get a carriage that can allow me to stay dry while steering in the future-”

“Papa, there is a biiiiig kitty!”

“Kitty? Where? I don’t see any… And why would they be out here in such bad weather? Get inside the carriage again before you end up getting wet!” Hearing his youngest daughter call out to him from behind, the merchant quickly scolded her.

“But! There really was a biiiig kitty! It even had wings and could fly! Look it just flew away!” Not one to back down upon hearing her father’s words, the young girl pointed over towards one of the mountains that were part of the mountain range surrounding the Flying Sword Sect.

“Wings? A cat with wings!?” Hearing how insistent his daughter was, the merchant felt a bit nervous as he thought she might have seen a demon beast and turned to look at where she was pointing but saw nothing.

“Look there is not cat out there. Now get back into the carriage before you get any more wet than you already are!” Feeling a bit relived at the fact that there was no cat with wings at the place his daughter pointed, the merchant quickly got back to the fact that she was still pointing her small head out in the cold rain.

At this point, her hair had already been completely drenched like his own. Making the merchant already imagine how she will end up getting a fever the next day.

“But-”

“No but-”

Not planning to discuss with his daughter any longer, the merchant decided to call for his wife who had been taking a nap inside the carriage before the daughter was pulled back inside to get dried and warmed up.

If not for the fact that the sky was clouded, and it was raining violently. Making it hard for anyone to notice that anything was happening just above them. The merchant traveling towards the Flying Sword City would surely have been able to spot a giant winged lion demon beast and a person floating mid-air just a few hundred meters above them.

Having come to a stop, the winged lion slowly began to observe the person floating in front of it.

“What a curious demon beast, was this perhaps the one mentioned by Feng Chen?” As the winged lion demon beast was cautiously observing the person before it, the person in question was also observing the winged lion without a worry in the world.

Roar!

Roaring threateningly towards the person in front of it upon realizing that it was not being taken seriously. The winged lion fully concentrated its terrifying aura towards the person floating just in front of it.

“Ah! No need to be like this! I’m a friend of Elder Xuan!” Feeling the terrifying aura, the person floating mid-air quickly called out, causing the winged lion to stop what it was doing.

Roar?

Hearing this, the winged lion felt a bit confused as it stopped and looked more closely at the person floating in front of it.

Friend? My master had a friend who also reached the Domain Lord Realm?

“I’m Shu Yao! The current Sect Master of the Spring Flower Sect! You can ask Feng Chen if you have any doubts!” Seeing that the winged lion was still doubtful of her identity, Shu Yao revealed her identity. Not daring to drag it any longer in case the winged lion really decided to attack her.

Even if she was curious about the strength of the winged lion, she had no plan to fight it in her current situation!

After all, it had not been too long since she reached the Domain Lord Realm and she had not yet fully stabilized her cultivation base yet!
