Chapter 60: Arresting Zhu Wuya
Suddenly, Jia Hao’s eyes opened as he looked around him. However, he found that he was alone in the bed.
‘ Was that some hallucination? Perhaps I am thinking quite a lot these days.’ Jia Hao thought inwardly as he got up from the bed with a yawn.
” Young Master Jia, Have you woken up?”
Jia Hao saw it was Minmin, Cai Yixue’s maid. She was holding a bronze pot full of water, to wash his face. Jia Hao suddenly realized that he forgot to bring a toothbrush and paste.
” Eh? What’s this?” Jia Hao was surprised when he saw something that looked like a toothbrush. However, the handle was made of bones and the brush looked much crude.
Along with was a small cup of green fluid, giving the scent of freshly crushed leaves.
” This…”
” This is mouth brush with bitter leaves paste.” Minmin spoke with confusion. ” It’s to rinse your mouth, Young Master.”
” Ah, right.” Jia Hao nodded as he dipped the brush in the paste and started to brush his teeth.
‘ Damn, This is fucking bitter!’ His expression winced, but he kept brushing and then rinsed his mouth.

‘ I guess the ancients aren’t that dumb. Although they don’t have technology, their knowledge is also advanced, just in a different way.’ Jia Hao thought inwardly.
” Young Lady is waiting for you in the dining room.” Minmin bowed. However, Jia Hao could see she was stealing and glanced at him.

Cai Yixue sat beside the table, with an elegant white dress. The sunlight of early morning illuminated her beautiful stature, making Jia Hao stun a bit.
‘ Is that woman is really my wife?’ Jia Hao gave a bitter smile as he walked to her and sat beside her.
‘ Good morning, Wife. Have you slept well last night?”

Minmin was about to say something, but Cai Yixue glared at her, making her silent instantly.
” It was alright. Hurry up and eat the breakfast.”
Cai Yixue spoke. Jia Hao was surprised and felt the fragrance of the buns and soup was much better.
” Ah, You used the sauces I gave last night?” Jia Hao was pleasantly surprised as he tasted the soup.
” Ahh, This tastes so good. Much better than before.” Jia Hao nodded as he passed the buns to Cai Yixue. ” You eat too, Wife.”
” I have already sent some of our guards to watch Zhu Wuya. Just a few moments ago, I got the news that he already walked out of his house.”
Finishing his breakfast, Jia Hao woke up. ” Then how about we split up? You have an authority over the Cai Family. Therefore, It’s suitable for you to face Zhu Wuya.”
” What about you?” Cai Yixue looked at Jia Hao with curiosity.
” I am going to dig out the hidden stash of Zhu Wuya.” Jia Hao grinned.
As he left, Cai Yixue glared at Minmin.

Zhu Wuya opened and took a sniff, nodding with satisfaction. ” Indeed, this is genuine.”

” Can’t you lessen it a bit?” Zhu Wuya grumbled. ” 50,000 Taels are a lot.”

” Are you still asking for a reason?” Cai Yixue snorted. ” But then, before you say you are innocent, let me declare your crime.”
” Zhu Wuya, You have committed fraud and took a large amount of Cai Family’s fund into your pocket. You manipulated the account books and stole the money of Cai Family.”
” Do you want to hear more?”
” Young Lady Cai, That’s some serious accusations.” Zhu Wuya sneered. ” How can you accuse me, who has been a loyal subject of Cai Family?”
” Loyal or not, We shall know it in the Family Trial.” Cia Yixue spoke in a cold voice. ” Guards, Arrest him!”
” Hmph! Let’s see!” Zhu Wuya steeled his heart as he didn’t resist, as he knew it would be futile.
‘ This damned bitch, How did she know I would be coming here? Besides, why have none of my informers informed me about my arrest?’
‘ I don’t think they would have found any real evidence. Trying to look for accounting errors amidst that mountain of account books? Impossible!’
Thinking about various possibilities, Zhu Wuya felt a bit relieved as he followed Cai Yixue back to the Cai Family estate.
The main hall of the Cai Family was completely packed, with Cai Yunhai sitting on the chair of the patriarch.
Zhu Wuya fell on his knees as he showed his shackles. ” My lord! This is injustice! Is this how a loyal man who has been serving the Cai Family for decades is treated?”
” What happened? What is this fuss?” Cai Yunhai asked in a mild voice,
” Patriarch Cai, Zhu Wuya has been found guilty of money embezzlement. Manipulating the account books, he has been looting thousands and thousands of taels of gold from our treasury.” Cai Yixue cupped her fist as she spoke.
” How is that possible?”
” Mr. Zhu has been working for us. Such accusations are very serious!”
” Young Lady Cai, Are you sure?”
Zhu Wuya knocked his head on the floor. ” Patriarch Cai, I have not done a single thing which would harm the Cai Family. But why am I getting this treatment?”
” Is this the justice, the benevolence of Cai Family?”
” Zhu Wuya, Since Yixue arrested you, I believe she has valid reasons for her claim.” Cia Yunhai spoke calmly.
” Yixue, Do you have any proofs?”
” I do, Patriarch Cai.” Cai Yixue didn’t flinch as she clapped. Suddenly, a few servants bought out some account books and presented them before everyone.
” I have brought five account books as a sample.” Casually opening a page, Cai Yixue pointed at the marked section.
” The elders who are not blind, I hope you would check them and match them with the expenses.”
Zhu Wuya’s expression changed when he saw Cai Yixue actually found the errors in the accounting books.
His back was drenched with sweat as he hurriedly looked at the elders who also took bribes from him.
” This…This is true…”
” Goodness, The difference here is more than twenty thousand taels.”
