Chapter 597: Execution
” Like you used to say, I should find someone special so I did just that. ” Hecate spoke as she glanced at Jayden then she added:
” Though it would not have been possible without your divinaton, so I have to thank you for all this maybe you should try finding someone for yourself who knows you might actually find the one you are looking for. ”
Hecate spoke, to the rest of the witches watching this all seemed like two best friends were just chatting casually, and remembering the friendship between them Veena was getting more afraid by the minute, she knew that the queen had specially warned everyone to not bother Hecate much.
But Veena had been doing everything she could to find Hecate, first, she sent all kinds of beasts on different planets, and when one of the Empty beasts was killed Hecate’s location was revealed though she disappeared soon after, but after returning to Earth, Hecate didn’t try to hide.
” I doubt that, it’s hard to find someone like that, anyway I’m surprised that you actually chose a vampire. Dragon? Demon? Human? What even is he? ” The witch queen asked as she looked towards Jayden who stood there with a menacing gaze directed at Veena.
He just wanted to go forward and burn her down but he didn’t move because of Hecate, his aura which had become even stronger was making almost all of the witches tremble.
” It doesn’t matter, anyway enough about this topic let’s talk about it later but I’m sure you must have already heard by now what your daughter has done, so what are you going to do about it? ”
Hecate asked, as all the friendly expressions disappeared from her face and it was replaced by an angry gaze.
” Yes I have heard about it, not only did she add one of my poisons into the food but she even brought people from different races into our home and tried to kill you, her crimes are countless. ” While speaking the gaze of the witch queen landed on Veena.
” M- Mother forgive me but I just wanted to take that thing b- back from her, shouldn’t you also punish her for stealing something so precious from us?
What would happen to us if dragons were to get a word about any of it, it was the body of someone that they treated as their god- ”
Veena dropped down to her knees and began to reason, she knew her crimes were too big but she still tried to justify herself.
” I understand, you did what you did for the our family, you did it all to protect us and stop a war from taking place, right? ” As the witch queen spoke, instead of getting calm by hearing her words Veena was getting more and more afraid.
” Y- Yes Mother, I did everything to- ” Veena spoke while trembling.
” Hmm But first tell me who is the queen of this place? And since when did I allow anyone to make their own decision when it came to handling such big matters? ” The queen spoke as her aura kept getting stronger.
Veena is the 5th girl that the witch queen had adopted as her daughter, when she was first found Veena was nothing more than a slave who did chores in the house of a human, at that time the witches didn’t have their own home so they just had to live while in hiding.
Witches were seen as a symbol of bad luck and curses, so most of the races used to hunt witches and then burning them while laughing was a normal occurrence at that time, it was only when Hecate and the current queen worked together that they were finally able to have a home of their own.
Veena learned all kinds of knowledge from her adopted mother, whether it be magic or different types of experiments, creating potions and many other things, when the witch queen and Hecate were rescuing the witches from all over the earth, they had to fight against and kill all kind of people.
The witch queen for some reason took several of the small children in as her daughters, maybe it was a way for her to remove the loneliness, she felt after they had finally built their home and there were no more wars.
The queen had once seen a man who had saved her life before, but she didn’t remember any of his characteristics, so despite her trying to find him for so long, she had yet to succeed and to find him the queen even often used divination.
And in one such divination, she had seen something related to Hecate and Jayden, after that the queen shared her vision with Hecate and for some reason after that point Hecate had changed quite a bit, and only after that did she leave this place while stealing that item.
” Mother I’m sorry, I’ll take any punishment you have for me. ” Veena spoke with her head turned down.
“…” The witch queen looked at her for a few seconds, after spending so much time with Veena she had developed slight affection for her, but Hecate was much closer to her so she couldn’t forgive Veena for trying to kill Hecate.
” She will be executed, according to our laws by the drink of death tomorrow. ” After saying these words, the queen looked towards Hecate and asked: ” Are you satisfied with this punishment, if not- ”
” That’s good enough, it’s better to get rid of people who focus so much on personal gain that they could even sell their family out. ” Hecate spoke as she looked at Veena, she might have forgiven her if she had not tried to kill Jayden.
” Okay, I’m happy that you are satisfied. Take her away and prepare. ” The queen spoke, though there was no emotion on her face.
” Nooooo Mother please give me at least one more chance, I don’t deserve this I would never betray our family pleaseeeee ” Veena kept screaming but she has immediately pulled away from there.
Then the queen gestured for everyone to leave, turning towards Hecate she spoke: ” If you have some time now why don’t you come for a tea with me? ” The eyes and emotions of the queen were strange, it was like she could not feel pain and she was devoid of any emotion.
She was not like this before but after such a long time fighting the world she became like this, she hoped that these little girls would be able to change her back but it didn’t change much, Hecate sighed while seeing her friend like that.
” Okay, I would also like to talk with you let’s go. ” Hecate spoke, and then a portal appeared in front of them the witch queen stepped through it after which Hecate and Jayden also walked through it.
” Your house still looks as luxurious as I remember, you take really good care of it. ” Hecate spoke while she looked around at the familiar house.
” So who is he really? Is it really because of my divination? ” The witch Queen spoke, she seemed really curious and kept looking at Jayden, who sat down on a chair.
