Chapter 732: Prison-2
“Anyway, here we are finally,” Jayden spoke. At first glance, it was nothing more than four walls put together, and it didn’t even had a roof.
Several people were standing all around it to guard the prison. No one was even going anywhere near that place. Just as Jayden was about to walk towards that place, a hand clutched his wrist and pulled him back.
It was an old man who was standing with the help of a cane. It seemed he was quite close to death. After glancing at the guards, the old man spoke:
“You shouldn’t go near that place. I don’t know who you are or why you are dressed like that, but that place is something that has swallowed hundreds of our family members.”
“…” Jayden didn’t speak, and turning to face him, he waited for the old man to continue.
“My son was last seen thirty years ago around this hellhole, and after that cursed night, I never saw him again. You look young, don’t throw your life away like this,” the old man spoke. His voice was barely audible, and his body was shaking.
“What do you think about your king?” Jayden asked.
“He is the devil himself. Ever since he has come to this place, our life has turned into hell. This was… COUGH COUGH… a place we all loved to live in. We called it our home, and the previous king thought of the people as his own people.
Malgor was the beast of the previous king, but he killed his owner and took over the entire beast tribe.
Ever since that moment, this place has become a cage for us all, one from which we could never escape,” the old man spoke in a choked voice. He was almost crying by the end, remembering the happy memories.
The people here look exactly like humans, but they are completely different, and their lifespan is so much longer. So, this old man must have also lived for several centuries.
“Okay, I won’t go there. Thank you for answering me,” Jayden said, and after nodding, the old man slowly walked away from there.
Jayden walked as the old man soon disappeared from his vision. At first, he was just planning to storm through the prison, but now he decided to not cause too much chaos and go inside in a different manner.
“I think it will be easier than I had expected,” Jayden mumbled as he turned around and began to walk towards the door of the prison. There was just a single door.
“Excuse me, where can I find a clothes shop?” Jayden asked. Just near the door, more than twenty guards were placed. They all looked at Jayden strangely.
All the men already had their beasts summoned beside them. Some of them looked similar to the animals from Earth, but they mostly looked much more fierce.
All the guards seemed to be relaxing since no one dared to attack the beast tribe, whether from inside or outside. All the people living there were just too afraid to even create a civil war.
They all looked at Jayden lazily. One of the men, who seemed the leader of the group, pointed towards Jayden and spoke: “Catch him and bring him inside, and then announce that another person tried to attack the prison and he has been killed.”
“…” Jayden stood silently as two of them began to walk towards him. They were sitting on their beasts and were holding spears. Most of the people use spears since it has a long range and they can attack from behind their beasts.
They pointed their spears towards him and urged Jayden to walk forward.
“Follow us, we will bring you to the best clothes shop there is, haha,” the man laughed after speaking.
“Huh? There are shops inside that place too? But I heard this is a prison. I guess other people were lying to me earlier,” Jayden said and began to walk towards the entrance of the prison. After walking forward, the two guards stopped beside their leader and questioned:
“Sir, at which level should we put him?”
“Hmm, put him in the…” The leader looked Jayden up and down. Then, with a chuckle, he spoke: “In the second level.”
“Yes, sir,” one of the two guards replied. Then they urged Jayden to walk closer to the door as they pointed their spears towards him.
There are three levels in this prison, with the third level being for the worst criminals and the first for people of the beast tribe who haven’t done any crime yet, but even they would have to spend their entire life inside it.
After they arrived in front of the big gate, the guard spoke a couple of lines and knocked on the door in a certain pattern. Within seconds, the door opened.
Jayden looked inside and just saw a big empty ground, so it was obvious that the actual prison must be underground. The two guards then began to direct Jayden towards the stairs that would lead them downstairs.
After walking up to the center, the guard released different types of bestial cries, and only then were the stairs revealed. Three men were standing at the entrance of the stairs, and they laughed as they saw Jayden coming with the other two men.
“So another one came to rebel now? Haha, they never learn, do they?” One of the three guards spoke and laughed.
“No, actually he didn’t come here for that reason. I think he might be crazy. He was actually asking us about the location of a clothes shop, and he will be going to the second level.” While walking behind Jayden, one of the guards explained. After hearing this, they all laughed even harder.
“Haha, he sure is going to get some new clothes down there. He looks too weak,” another guard commented.
Then they walked further from there. The two guards walking behind Jayden were talking between themselves about the matter of their mundane life and occasionally laughing about Jayden’s situation.
After walking for a while, they finally arrived in front of another gate. The whole way they had walked was like a deep cave that never seemed to end. Again, they knocked on the door in a different pattern and spoke a line, and the door opened, and over ten guards were situated at this location.
They all looked at Jayden curiously, and after his condition was explained, they all laughed, which was irritating Jayden quite a bit by now. He wanted to make sure of something before he started to get into action.
After passing through that door, they walked for several minutes, and this time, three cross sections appeared in front of them, which Jayden concluded were the different levels of the prison.
And in front of each entrance, there was a door. Jayden first decided to go to the first level, so he glanced back towards the two guards.
“What are you looking at? Just keep moving forward before I put this spear into your b-” But them both the guards suddenly stopped moving.
