Chapter 740: New King
“You are still planning to fight me in that condition? If you give up that spider, I will spare your lives. What do you think? Not a bad offer, is it?” Jayden spoke.
“…” The 1st and the 2nd men looked at each other, then they glanced at the unconscious man and looked back at Jayden with a smirk.
“You have been trying to make us give up. I guess you are afraid even with all that power. I see, so you still can’t kill us-” the 1st man began to speak with a smirk.
*BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM*
Jayden’s body suddenly disappeared; none of them could even react as Jayden appeared right in front of the man with healing abilities. He thrust his hand forward and tore through his chest.
“COUGH COUGH,” he coughed out a couple of times, throwing out blood. Jayden’s hand had come out from his back, and a heart similar to a human’s could be seen still beating on his palm.
“Noooooo,” the only man awake and alive screamed. Both the beasts had been taken down by Jayden, and without their combined abilities, he was sure he wouldn’t be able to defeat him.
Jayden pulled his hand back, and after glancing at the heart and making sure that it was perfectly fine, he put it away in his storage ring as the dead body fell down.
Then he glanced towards the two others; one was unconscious while the other was shaking in fear. Not wanting to waste any more time here, he manifested a small ball of Nether fire and pushed it towards the unconscious beast.
The sphere was just a few centimeters in diameter, yet its speed was unmatchable.
The man standing there couldn’t even follow it with his eyes, and in the next moment, a big explosion swallowed the body of the unconscious beast as flesh and limbs were thrown all around, and it died again.
“So, are you feeling afraid?” Jayden asked as he glanced towards the only man present in front of him.
“S-Spare me, please. I’ll do whatever you want. I will even betray Malgor, please just let me go. I’m powerless without those two anyway,” he begged, but knowing that Jayden most probably wouldn’t spare his life, he made one last effort.
He decided to launch a mental energy attack towards Jayden and then escape from there. Collecting all the mental energy he could gather, he directed it towards Jayden and waited for the right moment.
“Okay, you can go,” Jayden said without showing any emotions on his face.
“…” The other man stared at him, knowing that he must be trying to trick him, so he launched the mental attack towards Jayden and readied himself to run away.
Jayden was already aware of his plan; he could easily sense the movement of the energy, but even sensing the attack coming closer, he stood still and waited for it to get closer.
After launching the attack, the man turned around and began to run, but all he saw was desert.
He glanced back to see if his attack had any effect on Jayden, but he was shocked to see that just as the invisible attack hit his body, it disappeared into smoke.
And then suddenly, the world began to revolve. It took him a moment to understand that Jayden had just beheaded him, but by then he had already taken his last breath. “They weren’t too strong, anyway it’s time to take over the entire beast race.”
Jayden mumbled as the desert around him disappeared, and he was back to reality.
Then he directly teleported towards the prison, and just as he had expected, except for the old man and Caleb, everyone had died. Jayden appeared at the entrance and saw corpses lying all over the place.
Just after walking through the entrance, he saw the old man and Caleb sitting at the door of the underground prison cells. The old man seemed pretty excited while Caleb sat there as if he was just about to kill himself.
“Have you cleaned up everything?” Jayden spoke as he walked towards them. The old man stood up hastily and nodded in front of him; his beast had turned small in size.
“Yes, I have removed every single person who was loyal to Malgor, but is my daughter really safe?” the old man asked.
“Yes, she is. You can go meet her at Bael’s house; she is perfectly fine. What’s your name?” Jayden questioned since most of his memories were hazy, and he couldn’t find the old man’s name.
“I don’t remember,” he replied while putting pressure on his brain to remember.
“It’s fine. From this moment on, you will be working right under the king of the Beast tribe or at least his representative.” Saying that, Jayden glanced towards Caleb; he planned to put Caleb as his representative.
“Me?” Caleb finally heard his words and looked at Jayden with a confused expression.
“Yes, I know you have lost everything, and you just want to end this life, but I’m the one who brought you out of that hell. I am well aware that living won’t be easy, but I want you to keep living.
I can remove your memories and make you a completely new person, but I won’t do it since your family still lives in your memories, so make your choice,” Jayden said with a serious expression.
“But what’s even the point? I know this life now belongs to you, and I won’t defy your orders, but how could I make myself live a life that’s filled with the painful and bitter memories of the ones I loved the most?” Caleb spoke, his voice heavy and his eyes filled with tears.
“But what if I tell you that there’s a way to bring your family back? Of course, not everyone could be brought back, though you will get a chance in the future to bring some of them back.” Jayden spoke, his tone solemn.
“Really? Is that possible? I-
I can meet them?” Caleb couldn’t believe this; he looked at Jayden with wide eyes.
“Yes, so make a choice. Either you could end your pain and die now, or you might wait for a chance that might never come and go through all that pain,” Jayden said and waited for Caleb to give an answer, though he was sure what Caleb’s answer was going to be.
“Uh… Can I leave for a moment?” The old man was barely holding himself back from running away to see his daughter; he had dreamt of this moment for so many years.
“No, stay right there,” Jayden said while keeping his gaze on Caleb.
“Okay, I’ll follow all your orders, but please tell me when will I get the chance to get my family back?” Caleb answered with an expectant expression on his face.
“It won’t be too long, and when the time comes, you will understand it on your own,” Jayden replied.
“I understand. I’ll do anything you say.” Saying that, Caleb kneeled down in front of Jayden, even though his head was still filled with all those horrible memories, but now he saw a hope.
