Chapter 753: Broken Souls
All Malgor felt was pain, an endless chain of pain that made him regret everything.
Of course, other races had already noticed such a big sphere of energy that would be more than enough to turn a few planets into ashes, but they wouldn’t attack unless their own planet or race was in danger.
The last time when Jayden had annihilated one of the count families on the vampire planet, it was solely the problem of the vampires so no other races had interfered with it, though the vampires remained unexpectedly silent for some reason.
Though if Jayden ends up destroying an entire planet, that is if he destroys the goblin planet, then it would give them more than enough reason to attack him all at once.
Most of the world powers would act together and try to kill him since he is a danger to the entire universe, exactly what happened to Belphegor, even he was not able to fight against so many overwhelmingly strong entities at the same time.
Many of them were so strong that Gunter and Malgor were like kids in front of them, so even Jayden might be in trouble if he is seen as a danger to the universe, though this is the way those strong beings use to stop anyone who might become top powers in the future.
All of them had their gazes fixed on this scene right now, they wouldn’t care if Jayden killed Gunter or Malgor, but the moment he destroys the planet, they would start hunting him, and Anna was aware of it so she was worried that Jayden might get in trouble that would be too much for even him to handle.
But for now, Jayden’s sole target of rage was Malgor since he is the one responsible for putting Xerome in that condition, even though Jayden never even did anything to the beast race, Malgor still targeted his family.
The beast king was trying to speak something, but every time Jayden would destroy his face, or fill his mouth with molten flames, so he could only scream, but he kept trying as if he wanted to tell something to Jayden.
After over ten hours of constant torture, Malgor finally got a chance to speak:
“Aaaaaah S- Soul COUGH COUGH Soul still h- here,” his voice was very weak, and he could barely speak, but he repeated his words again.
“Soul Xerome haa haa Xerome’s soul is s- still here, s- so please stop and l- let me COUGH die ughhhh.”
Jayden’s hands, which were ripping Malgor’s skin apart and burning his organs, suddenly stopped as he heard those words. Even amongst all that rage, some senses returned to his mind. He stopped burning Malgor and moved a little back.
“SPEAK”
A twisted and demonic voice sounded instead of Jayden’s original voice, which alone was enough to make anyone afraid.
“…” Finally, after so many hours, the torture had stopped, and Malgor saw a ray of hope. He felt that he might actually survive if he did everything right now.
‘Good thing I didn’t destroy that kid’s soul after using it,’ the beast king thought.
To obtain the identities, memories, and everything a person possesses, Malgor even needed to absorb the soul of that person. That is also the reason why Jayden was able to sense the normal connection with him.
He had lied to Malgor about how he found out that Xerome was fake since Malgor possessed Xerome’s soul so even the Fate skill was almost useless against the beast king.
It was thanks to someone else that Jayden was able to know that he was not the real Xerome. On that day before they arrived in the Nether, out of nowhere, a text began to glow on his palm.
-HE IS NOT XEROME-
He had received this from the witch queen Seraphina. Jayden had his doubts, but after checking it out in the Nether World, Seraphina’s words indeed turned out to be right.
Jayden gave a few more drops of his blood to Malgor and waited for him to heal, his body still looking just as dangerous, covered with Nether flames.
On the outside, Gunter’s heart was about to explode since the screams had finally stopped. He thought that Malgor had died, and now he was the one who was going to go through all that.
After a few minutes had passed, Malgor had finally returned to a state where he was able to speak, though he could still feel his skin and nerves burning because of the flames.
“I- I was saying that Xerome’s haa haa soul is s- still with me. There is a chance that he could still survive, so if you want to save your friend, then-”
Malgor decided to use this chance to his advantage. With just this thing up his sleeve, he could turn the entire situation around.
Though Jayden was too enraged to give a shit about his words, his hands suddenly became a blur and before Malgor even knew what happened, a sudden wave of pain hit him immediately as both of his arms were ripped away from his body.
Another scream was released, and outside, Gunter heaved a sigh of relief as he got some more time to live. After screaming for a while, Malgor finally became silent again as his arms began to regenerate.
“O- Okay, just spare my life, I’ll return his soul to y- you, please. D- Don’t you think all that was haa haa enough?
I have suffered for my mistake, and I promise I won’t ever c- come ughh near your family ever again, so just let me live,” Malgor begged, all his pride and haughtiness had completely disappeared.
“…” Jayden stayed silent, his gaze fixed on the beast king as if he was searching for something. His mind was a lot calmer now, even though he was just holding himself back from tormenting Malgor again.
“Just say that you won’t kill me and I- I will give Xerome’s soul back, do you haa haa promise?” Malgor asked again, he can’t even look straight at Jayden, he was never this afraid of anyone.
Without giving any answer, Jayden continued to scan his body, his gaze going much deeper than just flesh and bone, and after a while, he finally felt something.
It was a kind of energy that Jayden immediately recognized as soul energy.
This was definitely not Malgor’s own soul since it was much weaker and broken into a lot of pieces, which meant there were many other souls in his body other than Xerome’s.
It was like a separate chamber inside his body that only consisted of the souls Malgor had stolen in the past. All of the souls were injured and broken. Among the countless souls, Jayden found it hard to find Xerome’s soul.
“I’m telling you the truth, Xerome’s s- soul is still inside my body, COUGH and a- all I’m asking is for you to spare me, I’ll even become your servant if you wish,”
Malgor added. He felt Jayden’s piercing gaze on himself and felt his body shivering in dread.
