Chapter 757: Poor kings
“Thank you,” Jayden said as he disappeared from Seraphina’s vision. After staring into the distance for a few seconds, she went to complete other work.
Rios was busy tormenting the Goblin King and the Beast King. He had already released all the souls from the chamber except for Xerome’s; even the soul of the former King of Beasts was trapped inside it.
Since Rios’ strength was nothing compared to the two strong beings, he could only torment their souls, but that alone was quite painful for them— more than physical pain.
But neither Gunter nor Malgor was able to move since they were in such bad condition, and Jayden had created some kind of space around them that rendered them motionless.
“That’s enough for now,” Jayden spoke as he appeared behind Rios out of nowhere, giving him quite a fright.
“Uwaaa! W- Why can’t you come normally for once?” Then, taking a few deep breaths, Rios questioned, “Did you find it?”
“Yes, though I am not sure just how potent this is,” Jayden said as he took out the bottle containing the soul medicine from his space ring, then passed it to him.
“Hmm, good, good. The quality and the amount are both perfect. I believe this would be more than sufficient to heal Xerome’s soul,” Rios said, seeming quite satisfied with the medicine.
“But even if his soul is in perfect condition, it would still be useless if his body isn’t fine, so you need to take care of that—”
Rios began to say while glancing at Xerome’s head. It was strange how he was still alive, but if his body remained like that for much longer, it would be impossible to save him.
“Start healing his soul, and in the meantime, I will start to create his body. You don’t have to worry about it,” Jayden answered. Then he flew some distance away from Rios and brought Xerome’s head along with him.
Rios looked at him curiously but then decided to start his own part since, if they delayed too much, the chances of Xerome surviving would decrease. After picking up the chamber and using the healing medicine, he began to heal Xerome’s soul.
The wounds on the soul are much more complex to heal than physical ones, and if anything goes wrong, then the soul would be destroyed, and that person would just disappear forever.
Seeing that Rios had started his work, Jayden took out Xerome’s space ring that was in Malgor’s possession before, then he brought out the crystal heart. Taking in a long breath, Jayden began to construct a completely new and much stronger body for Xerome.
He infused his own blood into it to bring back Xerome’s capabilities that he had lost when Malgor stole everything from him. Creating a completely new body was much more difficult than replacing existing body cells and structure.
But Jayden did not need to create the entire body on his own; instead, once the process started and they managed to return Xerome’s soul back to his body, it would start to repair itself, though it would still require a large amount of energy.
Jayden and Rios continued to work in silence, and by now, Gunter and Malgor had come back to their senses. They lay some distance away while facing each other; their bodies, minds, and even souls were in battered condition.
“D- Did you enjoy your COUGH COUGH t- torture? Kukukuk COUGH,” Gunter laughed as he looked at Malgor’s pitiful state; after all, he had suffered much more than the Goblin King.
“Y- You Ughhhhh COUGH COUGH haa haa F- Forget it, don’t you want to ahhh escape from this p- place?” Malgor spoke with great difficulty; even keeping his eyes open seemed like an arduous task right now.
“And how a- are we supposed to COUGH COUGH do that? I don’t see a way out of here ughh.” Gunter asked.
Whenever he tried to speak, he felt as if something sharp was piercing his body from his belly to his throat.
“T- They are busy haa haa let’s think of a w-way COUGH COUGH b- before they finish t- their work haaaaa, or we will j- just die here.” Malgor spoke.
He had heard earlier what Rios planned to do with him, and he was terrified knowing that someone else was going to steal his body.
Since a long time ago, he had been doing the same with others, but now he was going to face the same situation himself. He was utterly terrified and willing to do anything to get out of there.
“Y- Yes, but what can we even do?” Gunter questioned with a pained and troubled expression on his face.
They both looked around to find a way to escape. Jayden and Rios seemed to be busy, and it looked like they wouldn’t be finished for at least the next few hours. Then both kings looked to the other sides.
But inside the Netherworld, they didn’t see anything at all that could be of help to them. There were mountains, purple fire all over the place, and quite a lot of strange looking creatures that were covered in purple flames, which seemed to be sleeping, though.
‘Damn it, if I was not in such a bad shape, then I could have used that treasure to escape, but there is just no energy left in my body.
Though by using that treasure, only one of us can go outside,’ Malgor thought, gritting his already broken teeth. Then he wondered:
‘If only I can devour this ugly pest’s soul, then I would be able to recover some of my strength, after which escaping wouldn’t be a problem. And after I get out of this place, I will hide at a place where no one would be able to find me.’
“Sigh, I don’t think we c- can ge- COUGH get out of here, not with this i- invisible thing around our haa haa bodies.”
Gunter spoke as he gave up on even trying to escape. In the first place, he didn’t have anywhere to go even if he did manage to run away from this place, and he didn’t want Jayden to blast his planet to smithereens after all that giant sun was still not too far away from the Goblin planet.
“S- So, you are ughhh g- giving up?” After speaking, Malgor vomited. His body had long since stopped healing, and his entire body was now in utter pain, especially since the chamber of souls was taken away from him.
“Yes, there is n-no point in running away from here, so just stay quiet COUGH.” Gunter spoke and closed his eyes. He was also feeling a lot of pain, but he had accepted his own fate and mistakes.
“Tsk,” Malgor clicked his tongue, feeling even more irritated, but right now, there was just nothing he could do.
*ROAR* *GRRRRR*
Just then, the two of them heard the sound of some monsters. The creatures that had been asleep in the Netherworld so far had finally woken up, and they all began to surround the two kings.
