[2500 PSs bonus chapter]
‘This is bad.’
Despite this thought, Sylas moved without hesitation. He had made a promise. After Professor Fembroise learned that her son had died because the government had refused to inform the public, her reaction was to be expected.
Unfortunately, the mission he went on with Bloom and her brother had delayed his arrival by a day, so there was no choice.
The Professor was important enough to be targeted by Legacy, and now the government. There had to be a reason for that.
He burst forward, appearing within a 20-meter radius of the house. Three kunai hung in the band of his pants, but a sharp pain awakened him from his thoughts.
Sylas gritted his teeth, and blood seeped through them. It seemed that his injuries still hadn’t healed yet, but this was fine. He diverted all of his Aether to support his Aether channels.
Aether couldn’t be used in this world regardless; he wouldn’t lose anything by taking such a step back.
In that moment, his visualization swallowed the whole of Professor Fembroise’s home.
At the moment, her second son was still sleeping in his room. She and her husband were in their nightwear, sitting across from a man and woman wearing black suits.
On the outside, there were several individuals scouting the region.
Without a word, his kunai spread out, zooming through the air.
In the dead of the night, several individuals were silently killed without a word. There was nothing they could do.
However, just as Sylas was about to kill a seventh individual, they reacted more quickly than he expected, slamming out with a briefcase that knocked the kunai away.
‘Not good.’
Sylas frowned. There were still four others, and the loud noise in the dead of night had already caught their attention.
His expression flickered, and he made a quick decision. His kunai vanished into the night, sneaking beneath cars and soaring low across tall grass. He controlled them deftly as he leapt into the backyard.
Sylas hadn’t thought that he would need to act personally, so he had already begun finding a way into the home. As such, when he was found out, he slipped away without a word.
The government agent who managed to save himself stumbled back and didn’t even notice where the kunai fell to. Just as he was about to roar out, he realized that he couldn’t. They were in the middle of the suburbs, and the unrest in the world was already great enough.
They had been given explicit orders not to kick up a commotion, especially since the target was just a normal professor. The only reason they had even sent so many was because they had gotten information that Legacy was also after the Professor.
Now, it seemed that that was true.
…
Sylas slipped around the back of the house. The experts back here had already been killed by him, so he slipped in without a word.
Finding a window, he opened it from the inside with his telekinesis and slipped into the basement.
He moved with fluid steps and activated Madness before his steps came to a stop and looked straight up at the ceiling.
‘They’re right above me. It’s just plywood and tile between myself and them. So long as I avoid the studs…’
Sylas’ gaze sharpened, and two kunai shot upward.
Even without Madness, his telekinesis now had 61 Physical when it acted. But with Madness, it was over 200 Physical.
This amount of Strength blasted through the floor like an arrow piercing rotten wood.
Up above, the two government officials were taken off guard. However, both of them reacted extremely quickly.
The woman was still a step slower. She tilted her chair back and fell, but the kunai still managed to rip through her chest and cause her to cough up a mouthful of blood. The pain made her react poorly, and her head tilted forward, right in line with the kunai that ripped up through her jaw.
The man reacted the same way, pushing his chair back, but he didn’t suffer the same fate.
Wood and broken tiles sprang out every which way. Professor Fembroise and her husband let out shouts as they fell out of their chairs, and the carnage practically blinded them.
By this point, Sylas had stopped trying to hide his presence and rushed up the stairs and into the living room just in time to see the man trying to scramble to his feet to check on his companion. But when the man in the black suit saw that Sylas had appeared, he could only abandon that idea, reaching for the gun on his hip.
The odds that the gun would misfire weren’t a non-zero chance with the current state of the world. But Sylas couldn’t take a risk on that, and he didn’t believe his Constitution was high enough to ignore guns yet, at least not without Aether skin.
So the moment the suit made a move, Sylas used his telekinesis and pulled on the safety and trigger for him.
The sound of a gunshot rang, and the man was startled, stumbling to the side. He didn’t understand why his weapon had suddenly fired, but before he could, Sylas was already upon him.

Sylas took in the stats and reacted instantly. Seeing the man’s poor Constitution, he unhesitatingly sent a furious punch to the man’s head.
He tried to dodge, but his reactions were too slow.
BANG!
His skull cracked, and his nose sunk into his head, its shards splintering his brain.
He collapsed to the ground.
Sylas didn’t pause. His kunai had soared into the ceiling. Without
Now, Sylas finally had time to rip the both of them down and pierce them into the female suit’s body.
