Indeed, the Class was much weaker.
His Common and Fragmented Classes both gave him a full Mental boost, but this Bronze Class only gave him an Intelligence boost. In addition, the Class Modifier likewise only targeted one-third of the Mental stats, and the modifier itself wasn’t as high as expected.
However, Sylas took it in nonetheless.
He would be able to make this up in the future.
‘I did lose the chance to stack more stats, but that will just have to be a necessary evil for now. I’ll focus on clearing the Silver Grade Chain Quest as soon as possible.’
Unlike with his Titles, when Sylas upgraded his Class, the stats granted from his previous upgrade remained. That meant that because he chose a weaker Bronze Class this time, he had missed out on stat increases that he would have otherwise been able to stack.
That was especially troubling because he could have really used the Charisma stats.
The good news was that his newly minted Gold Mastery Comprehension had somewhat fixed the imbalance between his Charisma and Will. The bad news was that that wasn’t a viable long-term solution.
However, as with all things, there would have to be sacrifices and trade-offs made.
Sylas stood to his full height. When he made a decision, he wouldn’t bother to regret it.
‘The Mancer’s Blossom will take at least a week to finish absorbing the remaining bits of the Dynamic Field Dungeon. When it finishes, I will be able to gain the Wood-Ice-Poison Rune I’ve been looking for.
‘In the meantime, it’s about time I look at the rest of my rewards.’

[Dynamic Field Dungeon
–
[Rewards]
[>Violet Rose Root (Symbiote)]
[>Violet Rose Whip (Treasure)]
—
Sylas remembered being surprised when he saw just two rewards. He had, after all, gone through a great deal of trouble. The Woodland Spider Queen had given him five rewards, all of which were shocking. This Dynamic Field Dungeon should have been even more difficult with the system putting its weight on the scale.
However, it was far more interesting than he thought it was.
He directly ignored the Violet Rose Whip. It was a Silver Grade treasure with stats even more shocking than the Basilisk Skin Armor had been, but he didn’t care if he couldn’t use it.
It was this Symbiote that intrigued him.
—
[What is a Symbiote?]
[A Symbiote is a special biological Treasure capable of either changing a landscape or parasiting a creature. This process causes this landscape or creature to gain the characteristics of the Symbiote and share in its strength. Whether this is a positive or negative matter depends on the Symbiote itself.]
—
Sylas of course knew what a Symbiote was in a vacuum, but he didn’t understand what it meant for this world in particular.
Even after this explanation, he didn’t quite get it. It was a bit vague. It was only after asking several more much more pointed questions that he got a vision of what he was working with.
In the most layman’s of terms, a Symbiote was almost like a Unique Gene. It could be stacked onto something and force said something to take on its characteristics.
But from another angle… it was like the Template of Rune Flesh. That was because if you were bold enough, you didn’t have to pick a landscape or a creature. What the Madness Key hadn’t made clear originally was that it considered all Races “creatures.” Meaning…
Sylas could fuse with this Symbiote as well.
Of course, Sylas dismissed the idea. The trouble with fusing with a Symbiote was that it would make tangible changes to your body. It would be hard to tell what would happen to his Genes as a result.
However, Sylas was thinking of something else entirely.

[Frostbane Feather (Silver) (Consumable Treasure)]
[Sacrifice to trigger an upgrade in Mount or Combat Mount, or turn beast into Mount or Combat Mount]
[Mutate or replace Aether affinity]
[Improve Grade to FFF-]
[Note: Function of Consumable Treasure will depend on the Gene Constitution of target beast. More control will be granted depending on Brand Grade]
[Uses Left: 1/1]
—
The Frostbane Feather had been rotting in his Madness Key for a long while, and he hadn’t been able to find a chance to make use of it just yet. None of the creatures he had come across really suited him because he was highly focused on getting himself a flying beast. The use of them would be more than he could put into words right now.
However, the Frostbane Feather was also a great disappointment. That was because it could only raise the grade of a Mount or Combat Mount to FFF-, and it likely wouldn’t work on a creature that was already stronger than that.
But…
If the Symbiote was stacked with it…
