Sylas stood on the peacock’s back in the far-off distance, his brows tightly wound into a frown.
He had known that things would be bad, but this was even worse than he expected.
The reaction of the Demons to the Demonic Aether was outside of his calculations. He thought that the main problem would be the influx of new Demons coming from the other side of the Demon Gate, not realizing that the main horror was the Aether itself.
The Demons here had been in a state of repression. They were using Aether that they weren’t compatible with, and as such, they were several orders of magnitude weaker.
Now that they had their own Aether to use and pull upon, they were far stronger not only in Level but in relative strength as well.
Every single one of them had become an FFF+ threat.
And this was all before the Demons on the other side even set their sights on this region.
Sylas truly wasn’t sure what to do.
The smart thing was exactly as he had decided previously…
Leave.
This situation was far too much for him to handle alone. Getting the Africor Continental Government to deal with it would be ideal. After all, they couldn’t let Demons rampage through their country like this.
But if this Demonic Aether continued to spread like this, the Territory would be overrun much faster than Sylas ever expected.
On top of that, there was another problem.
The other side of the Demon Gate… could it be considered a world off of Earth?
In that case, could it be that if he went over in an attempt to destroy the Shrine, would he lose months at a time again?
It was all bad no matter what angle you looked at it from.
‘Maybe…’
Sylas’ eyes narrowed.
If the Demon Gate really was another world, maybe for the first time, he would be able to benefit from this time dilation instead of suffering as a result of it.
Because of the time dilation, any Demons on the other side would take quite a while to begin making their way over. This might actually give Sylas more time than he thought he had.
‘From what I’ve seen, a day or so is about three to four months… That means even a few minutes is quite a delay.’
—
[What happens if you destroy just one of the two Demon Shrines?]
[The Demon Gate will become unstable. On the one hand, this will make it more difficult for Demons to cross, but on the other, it will increase the flow of Demonic Aether]
—
‘It seems like there’s only one choice, then.’
Sylas took a step off of the peacock’s back, free-falling from the skies.
He would destroy this Demon City and the Demon Shrine they hid. Then, he would wipe out all of the Demon Cities in his Territory.
And he gave himself a week to do it at most.
Could he destroy 236 Demon Cities in a week?
There was only one way to find out.
BANG!
Sylas’ knees bent as he landed on the ground and he erupted forward into a blazing acceleration.
He didn’t waste a single moment, appearing before the first bear demon and punching a hole through its chest.
‘Not good.’
Sylas used the stop in his momentum to take a step back, dodging out of the way of a long array of swiping, black claws.
The bear demon actually wasn’t dead, but that wasn’t the main issue. It was only Level 20, but it had been much more difficult than Sylas expected to rip through its body.
Its Constitution must have been at least 800, and it wasn’t even yet finished with its evolution.
—
[How do you kill a Demon powered by Demonic Aether?]
[A True Demon can only be killed through the destruction or separation of their Demon Core. Though, they can be weakened or slowed through the use of injuries]
—
Sylas took a deep breath.
This made this matter even more troublesome than he thought. Something that was quickly becoming a common occurrence in these last few minutes.
‘I can’t play to conserve my Aether. I need speed. Before they all reach their peak, I need to kill them all.’
311 Demons.
Black scales erupted across Sylas’ body and his Will bloomed.
His new Gene Skill erupted.
The trees in the surroundings shook, their roots erupting from the ground in a blackish, violet deluge that surged over the city.
Sylas found that his Woodland Warlord Title was much weaker in the presence of the Demon Gate. However, that didn’t stop him from using up over half of his Aether in a single go.
50 Units of Aether poured into his Domain, his Aether moving so fast through his body that he could feel it ripping into his Pathways. The pain was excruciating, but nothing that Sylas had never faced before.
He shrugged it off, dodging out of the way of the bear demon again as he continued his maddening pace.
And then it all snapped into place.
What did he get in exchange for 50 Units of Aether?
His Domain now covered a mere five-meter radius around him.
However…
There was a bounce at Sylas’ feet as the Domain formed a net beneath him. At the same time, the bear demon found itself tripping forward, its ankles wound by the tough, poisonous ice-wood.
Sylas hopped back, his torso torquing as his fist unleashed a vicious left hook.
BANG!
The head of the Demon exploded beneath the savage aura, its Aether having been eroded by the pressure of Sylas’ poison.
Sylas’ hand ripped into its skull, pulling the Demon Core out and throwing it into the Madness Key.
Sylas didn’t even give the demon another glance.
The roots of the trees around him wiggled about as he dashed forward.
Ahead of him, the city gates of the Demon City loomed large.
They burst open, a fog of eerie darkness looking like corpses crawling out from the ground appearing.
Sylas dashed in without hesitation, using his telekinesis to slam the gates shut behind him.
He wouldn’t let a single one of them escape.
