Chapter 120: Su Yuerong’s Ambition
The morning sun cast a golden glow through the entrance of the cavern, painting the scene in a soft, ethereal light. Wang Li held Su Yuerong close, their bodies tangled in a warm afterglow. He traced patterns on her bare back, a sense of contentment washing over him.
“Yuerong,” he murmured, his voice husky with sleep. “Now that you’ve become a part of me,” he paused, choosing his words carefully, “a part of the Wang Family’s harem…”
Su Yuerong, her eyes still fluttering closed, squeezed his hand. “Yes, Li,” she whispered, a shy smile gracing her lips.
“Perhaps,” he continued, his voice thoughtful, “we should make it official. Announce our union to the world.”
A slight frown creased Su Yuerong’s brow as she finally opened her eyes. Their cerulean depths held a hint of apprehension. “No, Li,” she said softly, shaking her head. “It’s best… we keep this a secret.”
Wang Li’s frown deepened. “A secret?” He sat up, pulling the covers away, revealing her stunning form. “Why, Yuerong? Are you… dissatisfied?”
Su Yuerong’s blush deepened. “No, no, Li,” she stammered, her voice laced with urgency. “It’s nothing like that! You are… kind, strong, and everything I could ever want in a man. Last night… it was…” she trailed off, a blush creeping up her neck.
He reached out, gently tucking a stray strand of hair behind her ear. “Incredible,” he finished for her, his voice a low rumble. “And it will be again, my love.”
Su Yuerong leaned into his touch, her anxieties momentarily forgotten. “It’s just…” she began, taking a deep breath. “I have an ambition, Li.”
“An ambition?” His brows knitted together in curiosity.
“Yes,” she continued, her voice gaining strength. “I want to become the strongest cultivator in the Azure Peak Sect. I want to become the next Sect Leader.”
A gasp escaped Wang Li’s lips. This ambition was unexpected, yet undeniably impressive. “The Sect Leader?” he echoed. “That’s a lofty goal, Yuerong.”
She squared her shoulders, a newfound determination burning in her eyes. “It may be, but with your help…” she paused, her gaze locking with his. “With the power boost from last night, I’m closer than ever before.”
“And revealing our relationship,” Wang Li interjected, piecing together her thoughts, “would jeopardize that ambition?”
Su Yuerong nodded. “The elders… they might be suspicious. They might see me as biased towards the Wang Family, or worse, a pawn in your game for control.”
A bitter smile played on Wang Li’s lips. “Control? Never. I wouldn’t want that, Yuerong. You’re far more than just a pawn to me.”
She reached out, tracing a finger across his cheek. “I know,” she said softly. “But their perception is everything. If they believe I’m influenced by you, it would be a huge setback.”
He mulled over her words. Her ambition was admirable, a fire he wouldn’t want to extinguish. Yet, the thought of keeping her a secret gnawed at him. “But being a… secret mistress,” he began, his voice laced with concern, “isn’t that unfair to you, Yuerong?”
Su Yuerong chuckled, a melodious sound that filled the cavern. “Don’t be sentimental, Li,” she chided playfully. “By becoming your secret mistress, I am essentially able to reach out for my ambitions. Besides, if I develop my influence within the Azure Peak Sect… it has its advantages for you.”
“Advantages?”
“Indeed,” she continued, a glint of steel in her eyes. “By remaining here in the Azure Peak Sect, I can gain the trust of the elders, rise through the ranks of the sect undetected. Once I have enough influence, becoming the Sect Leader becomes a possibility.”
“And with you in control,” Wang Li added, finishing her thought, “the Azure Peak Sect would never act against the Wang Family. In fact, they could even become a valuable ally.”
Su Yuerong beamed. “Exactly!” she exclaimed. “Think of the possibilities, Li. Resources, manpower… the Wang Family would flourish under such an arrangement.”
He ran a hand through his hair, a mixture of emotions swirling within him. “I admire your ambition, Yuerong,” he said finally. “And I will do everything in my power to help you achieve it.”
“I know you will, Li,” she whispered, her eyes filled with gratitude.
He couldn’t argue with her logic.
“And while you climb the ranks,” Wang Li continued, his eyes locking onto hers, “know this: if ever the burden becomes too heavy, the doors of the Wang Family are always open to you. You’ll always find a safe haven there. Know that at any point in time you can come to the Wang Family and claim your rightful status as my wife proudly.”
Her heart swelled with warmth. The man she had come to care for deeply wasn’t just powerful, but also understanding. Leaning in, she placed a tender kiss on his lips.
“Thank you, Li,” she whispered, her voice filled with gratitude. “You’ve not only given me power, but also a haven. I won’t let you down.”
He nuzzled his nose against hers, a silent promise hanging between them. Their ambitions, intertwined, would be the foundation for their future.
The day unfolded in a blissful haze of intimacy within Su Yuerong’s secluded cavern.
Wang Li remained by her side, their bodies entwined not only out of passion but also for a more practical purpose.
His Yin-Yang Cultivation Ability, the key to enhancing a woman’s spiritual roots and cultivation base, could only be activated through physical touch.
He ensured that his touch was as intimate and thorough as possible, his movements fueled by both desire and necessity.
Su Yuerong, far from objecting, reveled in the exploration. Each caress, each kiss, served a dual purpose – strengthening their bond and boosting her cultivation.
As dusk painted the sky in fiery hues, a pang of regret tugged at Wang Li’s heart. He had to return to the Wang Family before his absence raised suspicion. But before his departure, a plan hatched in his mind.
“Yuerong,” he said, his voice husky with unspoken desires, “a rumor must be spread.”
Su Yuerong raised an eyebrow, a playful glint in her eyes. “A rumor? What kind of rumor, Li?”
“One that explains my visit,” he explained, outlining his plan. A fabricated story about a trade between him and Su Yuerong, a rare treasure for some exotic herbs in her possession, would suffice to quell any gossip about their true connection.
Su Yuerong readily agreed. After concocting the elaborate lie, a satisfied smile touched Wang Li’s lips. With a final, lingering kiss, he prepared to leave.
Night had cloaked the Azure Peak Sect in darkness by the time Wang Li departed. He soared through the air on his Flying Sword, the familiar thrill of wind whipping through his hair blending with a post-coital contentment. The memory of Su Yuerong’s touch still lingered on his skin, a sweet phantom sensation.
However, amidst the euphoria, a pragmatic thought surfaced. His cultivation had indeed taken a leap forward, but it wasn’t enough. He needed more, a significant boost to reach the precipice of the Peak Nascent Soul Realm and eventually break through to the coveted Spirit Severing Realm.
His eyes flickered, and he activated his Heavenly Fate Pupils. The world shimmered around him, imbued with a vibrant essence. He was searching, his gaze scanning the vast expanse of the forest below. He sought specific signatures, a specific type of energy.
Then, a flicker of crimson caught his eye. Deep within the dense foliage, a fiery glow emanated from a hidden clearing. A rare Fire Spirit Fruit!
With a surge of excitement, Wang Li steered his Flying Sword towards the clearing. Upon landing, he cautiously approached the radiant fruit, its surface pulsating with a fiery aura. Plucking it carefully from the vine, he felt a surge of heat emanating from it. A perfect addition to his cultivation regimen.
His Heavenly Fate Pupils remained active, searching for more. He needed a counterpoint, a balance to the fiery essence of the Fire Spirit Fruit.
Quite some distance away, a faint, ethereal glow that he saw with the help of his Heavenly Jade Pupils caught his attention. It was a Moonstone Fruit, radiating a cool, calming energy – the perfect yin to the Fire Spirit Fruit’s yang.
Elated with his discoveries, he continued his search, his Heavenly Fate Pupils revealing hidden treasures in the forest. He found a Glacial Lotus Flower, its petals shimmering with an icy light, and a Dewdrop Berry, its essence as pure as morning dew.
These were all precious commodities, rare herbs and fruits that could fetch a hefty price on the market. However, Wang Li had a different purpose in mind. Most of these treasures would be making a journey to the Xia Family.
The Two-Headed Yin Yang Dragon, still a young hatchling under their care, craved a balanced diet of fiery and cool elements to nurture its dual nature. These fruits would be a welcome addition to its meals, accelerating its growth and strengthening its formidable potential.
As the night deepened, Wang Li filled his storage ring with his newfound treasures. Satisfied with his harvest, he turned his Flying Sword towards the direction of the Wang Family estate. The journey back was filled with anticipation and excitement.
