Only ten minutes after the announcement of another person dying, while Stark was busy fighting off two [Dungeon Lizards] under the watchful gaze of his clone…
A new message appeared.
[The sublevel 2 Floor has been opened! Head to the exit to be able to climb to the next level!]
‘Oh…?’ was it because of the rewards they had gotten, or maybe it was just that someone got lucky and somehow found the key extremely fast, it hadn’t even been more than 30 minutes since they entered this level after all…
The sound of the announcement echoed through the dimly lit dungeon halls for everyone to hear.
The fact it was done so quickly probably meant the person that had opened it was the only one up here now, the rest of the people still busy fighting monsters.
And as expected, after only two minutes since the first announcement…
[Akira has reached the second sublevel first, granting reward…]
‘Maybe he got the [Key Location Map], he did get two rewards after all…’ Stark thought as he sent a crimson fist toward the last [Dungeon Lizard].
~BOOM~
“-66381!” and so it fell dead on the ground.
[You have slain ‘Dungeon Lizard lvl103’, gained 153559 EXP!]
[You have slain ‘Dungeon Lizard lvl103’, gained 154122 EXP!]
‘Only one or two monsters…’ Stark couldn’t contain his excitement: he was level 49, so close to being level 50 and finally being able to unlock his new class, as well as many other features, much like when he reached level 25.
It was kind of anticlimactic to get to level 50 just like that in opposition to having to fight a ‘Godless Demon’ apostle like last time for his first milestone, but who cares?
‘Now I need to figure out the way to the exit…’ he didn’t have a map, and he had gone pretty far inside the [Dungeon of Fear], so finding his way back wouldn’t be possible easily…
[Only two people remain in the third sublevel!]
Plus, it seemed like that most people had already rushed to the second sublevel using their maps after checking the announcement.
But this also meant that… someone else was still there…?
To be honest, Stark already had an idea of who had died and who did it (his clone also confirmed it): Kokoro, Yuri, and Akira wouldn’t be possible since they were cautious, plus the latter had opened the second door.
And the white haired lady looked too strong to be taken out like this, which meant the only people remaining were Officer and Leader, and he had a deep feeling that the former was killed by the latter.
‘Need to watch out for the sect leader I guess… always had a bad feeling about him,’ it was all speculation of course, but it was pretty spot-on.
It didn’t matter much though, he would be alone on this floor for a while and would have all the opportunities in the world to get to level 50, then he would become much stronger…!
Even if it wasn’t a big fight that got him to this huge milestone, it didn’t really matter to him.
[WARNING! If you enter the second sublevel, then the limited offer of getting your map back and TWO rewards will be cancelled, think wisely!]
‘Well… not like I’m going to meet anybody as most of them are up, and the last guy must be currently heading to the exit too…’ it was sad such a reward would be left out, but he surely wouldn’t be able to take this offer currently.
Or at least… that is what he believed.
‘I guess there’s Yuri, Akira and Leader on the dangerous list now, although I think the first two are much more dangerous by their auras alone-‘ Stark mumbled while walking.
But…
~FWISH, CROWKA~
He sensed something coming from behind, and when he and his clone turned around, they saw a giant green snake coming at them.
“=)” the clone didn’t even budge, keeping its massive smile on its face as it crouched down to avoid the massive snake, and Stark did the same.
‘Must be one of the participants,’ he immediately thought, ‘I remember one of them having a snake at the back of his robe…’
And as expected, it was at this moment that Leader revealed himself, the same expression on his face, almost as if he expected Stark to do that.
But he did: the exact same thing happened with Officer, and it wouldn’t change with Stark, who was much weaker.
“Heh~ a sect leader trying to kill someone, should have known, did you do that to Officer?” Stark smiled as widely as his clone, they basically looked like twins.
“…!” Leader for the first time did look slightly surprised, he didn’t know how Stark knew, but it was weird.
Plus… what was that thing behind him?
Leader wasn’t present when Stark explained about his clone, so to him, this was just… an anomaly, and a scary one at that.
Even he could see it: that thing was twisted and evil, maybe even more so than he himself was as a sect leader.
Leader’s sect was called “Snake Symphony”, and they all worshiped the snakes that he created, making him somewhat of a god to his followers, who ranged in the thousands.
“I hope you don’t regret that decision of yours later,” Stark and his clone positioned themselves for combat, with absolutely zero hesitation to kill the guy.
And for some reason… Leader actually hesitated.
He had been completely confident in himself when against Officer, easily taking him down using the usual method he did when killing people weaker than he was, but this time… he felt like it wouldn’t work.
Maybe it was those evil smiles that he hesitated, or maybe this aura…?
‘…’ Leader breathed in before summoning the giant snake as big as a whale in front of him again, ‘It’s going to work.’
His plan had never failed, why would it not succeed against a kid so weak, he was the last to reach level 50 and last to leave this floor after all, right…?
“I guess that’s your decision, then let’s start this battle,” Stark shrugged.
“=)” the [Superior Clone] looked excited.
[FIGHT!]
‘Heh~ guess I shouldn’t have talked too soon…’ Stark mumbled to himself, after all he had said that this rise to level 50 would be anticlimactic, yet here he was, facing off against the possible strongest enemy he had fought against until now, even stronger than [Judicator], [Sierra], [The Corrupter Ghoul] and [Soulayer]…
“SHOW ME WHAT YOU’VE GOT, SECT LEADER,” he smiled as he activated his aura as well.
