“THE MASTER OF MIRRORS!”
The once dimly lit clearing was now transformed into a vibrant, kaleidoscopic arena filled with mirrors of all shapes and sizes, it was completely different from anything they had seen before.
The sky was gone, the pillars had crumbled, the grass was nowhere to be seen, and all the walls disappeared to be replaced by giant mirrors.
Stark and Orasio were in the Mirror Master’s domain now, giving them a massive disadvantage, much like when Boxer and Stark were fighting the Witch and Warrior.
The Mirror Master stood at the center, his cloak tattered and his expression twisted with rage and determination, only his eyes and mouth visible beyond his glass mask, but it was enough to recognize that he was angry.
Stark and Orasio exchanged a quick glance, silently communicating their next move as they braced themselves for the final showdown.
[Mirror Master HP: 38108/160000]
One more push and it would be over… they would complete what nobody else had ever done in this world: beat the Death-Level domination trial.
As the Mirror Master raised his hands, shards of glass began to materialize around him, forming a barrier that seemed impenetrable.
And then…
“Glass Rain!”
Shards of glass began to rain down from the ceiling, glinting in the ever-changing lights reflected by the mirrors surrounding them.
“Ally Protection! All-Time Barrier!”
Orasio activated both these skills on himself and Stark, creating a green sphere that protected them both from the hundreds of shards that were dropping, it would honeslty be impossible to avoid them all, so Stark felt relieved he kept Orasio around, he was an excellent support.
“Aura Smash,” he tried to calculate the trajectory to send it toward the mirror master, but…
“World’s Reflection,” the boss suddenly raised his arms upwards alongside the shard that he used to summon his powers, then turned it.
~FWISH~
The gravity changed again, and Stark came crashing against a mirror.
“-326!” Orasio on the otherhand protected himself using his shield.
But of course, that wasn’t the end of it.
~FWISH, FWISH, FWISH~
Like a madman, the Mirror Master began changing the gravity of his domain over and over, resulting in Stark hitting almost every mirror in the area where he was, and blood pouring out from his body.
[HP: 732/2800] he wasn’t able to recover his HP thanks to his necklace because it was previously full, and so now he really needed some.
Changing the gravity of the room also resulted in Stark being unable to aim his crimson fist.
But of course, that wouldn’t stop him.
After thirty second, he used his skill again.
“Aura Smash!” he tried to aim and punched in the master’s direction, but the gravity changed yet again, “NOT THIS TIME!”
But he switched the trajectory using his willpower, and although it was harder than usual since he was constantly moving…
~BOOM~
“-7462!” the master was hit.
[Dealt massive damage to Mirror Master, regaining 135HP!]
“DON’T GET COCKY,” he was getting more and more angry, “SHARD THROW…”
His anger pushed him to focus his attacks on Stark, who had to keep avoiding more and more.
And of course, that was a mistake since…
“Explosive Shield,” he was yet again hit by Orasio’s shield, which exploded upon contact with his body.
“-18273!”
[Mirror Master HP: 12373/160000]
“You… annoying… PIECE OF SHITS,” he was actively bleeding now, the injuries he had received until now finally taking a toll on him, “I- I will…”
He couldn’t understand how he was defeated by Orasio and Stark, not matter how strong they were, it was not possible they could dominate him this easily.
All the other ‘promising’ domination class users that had been sent to a Death-Level trial had all succumbed up until now, so WHY, WHY WERE THEY ACTUALLY WINNING?
“OK, NOW LET’S END THIS,” he shouted, his eyes burning with aura, and the crystal shard between his hand emanating a weird power.
He used his final and most powerful skill.
“ALL-AREA STRIKE!”
‘…?’ both Orasio and Stark were confused.
But what they hadn’t realized yet was that [All-Area Strike]… was an unavoidable attack in the Master’s domain.
The shard the master was carrying began floating above his head, a dark energy surrounding it.
“GOODBYE, PARTICIPANTS!”
And so he unleashed his skill: a giant dark fire mixed with glass shards appeared over them, on the room’s ceiling.
Unavoidable attacks are not common at all, some might as well say most people will encounter one in their lifetime because of the sheer stupidity of those things.
After all, it was in the name: an unavoidable attack is truly impossible to avoid, no matter your speed, especially in closed off areas.
And right now… Orasio and Stark were experiencing an extremely powerful one.
~FWISH~
The dark fire grew and grew, until eventually taking up the entire ceiling.
And that’s when it came crashing down on the participants: it was impossible for them to avoid it since it was taking the entire space.
‘Oh wow,’ Stark looked up, ‘I think I get why no one completes that shit now,’ he shrugged.
But he wasn’t scared for a good reason: he had [Invincible Dodge], his newly acquired skill.
He would need the right timing while never using it before, but it was all or nothing, being hit by that thing was game over after all.
As the dark flames were at the half-way point of the room, Orasio activated all his defensive skills, [All-Time Protection], [Ally Protection], [Block], then kneeled down while looking up to the flames.
Stark on the other hand crouched a bit while observing the attack go down at an alarming speed: he was analyzing it to use [Invincible Dodge] at the perfect time.
Time seemed to slow down as the dark fire and glass shards drew closer, the heat becoming unbearable, and the threat of being pierced by countless sharp edges loomed over them.
“IT’S THE END FOR YOU TWO,” The Master laughed.
~CRASH~
The dark fire and glass shards descended upon Stark and Orasio, enveloping them in a searing blaze and piercing shards. The Master’s maniacal laughter echoed through the chamber as the flames consumed everything in their path.
“INVINCIBLE DODGE!”
Right as the attack was about to hit him, Stark combined [Focus] with his new skill to activate it at the perfect time.
And so as the flames were millimeters above him, he rolled ahead, giving him the invincibility frames he needed to avoid the attack while the unsuspecting Mirror Master thought he had won.
“AURA SMASH!” he punched the air twice in the boss’s direction, sending two crimson fists that hit him directly.
“-12127! -13129!”
The damage was insane, a proof of Stark’s constant growth.
And so the mirror master fell to the ground, his HP having reached 0.
“I-IMPOSSIBLE, I-I CANNOT LOSE TO YOU…” he looked up to see Stark in front of him, a wide grin on his face.
“Seems like we won,” Stark smirked, provoking the Mirror Master as it was his undeniable defeat.
But…
The Mirror Master grinned too for some reason, “At least… only one of you will escape this place,” and right as he said that, he lay on the ground, his body now lifeless.
“What do you mean-” Stark turned toward Orasio’s direction, and that’s when he saw it: the red-haired boy was covered by those dark flames, burning his entire body to crisps.
“…”
