As soon as Leon disappeared from Giglot’s hands, he stood in place, looking at his hands, then turned his gaze to the place where Ali was, and did not find her either.
The demonic general felt confused because he couldn’t find his victim. Suddenly, the red beam returned, striking Giglot so hard that he rolled back and collided with the throne he had previously been sitting on.
Giglot dusted off his head but couldn’t stand because someone’s foot was pressing on his head.
The strange person said in a deep voice, “Stay where you are, you vile creature.”
Then, the strange man grabbed Giglot by the neck, shattering the parts of the armor that protected his neck.
Giglot opened one of his eyes and felt shocked by the person standing in front of him, holding him by the neck.
The strange man said, “You don’t know how much I want to kill you a second time, but I won’t deprive others of the pleasure of killing you.”
The man dropped Giglot and pointed his hand towards him, saying, “Now sleep.”
A red light appeared from the man’s hand and formed the same light above Giglot’s head, causing the demonic general to lose consciousness.
When Giglot lost consciousness, a new voice echoed through the hall, this time a woman’s voice.
“Are you sure about what you’re doing?”
The woman speaking had glowing green eyes and long black hair, wearing revealing black attire. She had many tattoos all over her body and was smiling at the mysterious man.
The mysterious man she was speaking to wore a black mask covering his entire head, with no openings for the eyes. He wore a black jacket, black pants, and combat boots of the same color. The striking detail was that the man was missing one of his arms while carrying a black sword on his back.
The masked man said, “It was necessary to do that.”
The woman replied, “You know that saving him means you just erased yourself from existence.”
The man placed his intact hand on the black mask and removed it from his head, revealing his faded red hair.
When he fully removed the mask from his face, his disfigured face and melted skin appeared, with his left eye being the only one intact, while the right eye seemed nonexistent, covered by melted skin.
The man’s mouth was not visible either, but despite that, he could speak.
He dropped his mask, placed his intact hand on his face, and said, “It was necessary. At least some things will change.”
Suddenly, the man began to turn into golden dust and started to disappear, beginning with his intact hand. His last words before completely vanishing were, “Thank you.” He said this while looking at the woman.
The woman sighed as she looked at the spot the man had occupied before disappearing. “Anytime, Leon, anytime.”
Back at the place where Alice and Leon were, Alice was holding Leon, who seemed to be dying.
Alice was crying and screaming, “Stay with me, Leon, please stay with me.”
Alice didn’t know how she was saved from the demonic creature or what that red flash was, but she didn’t really care because she found herself in a situation that didn’t allow her to think about anything else.
She had intended to get to know her partner first before confessing and telling him one of the secrets of the Spirit Empire. In the Spirit Empire, marriage is sacred, and the spiritual partner they are compatible with is the most important thing. When the inhabitants of the empire, whether male or female, reach adulthood, they start having a series of dreams in which their spiritual partner appears. It’s rare for one of the partners to be from another kingdom outside the Spirit Empire.
Leon was Alice’s spiritual partner. She had intended to get to know him better, and it was unfortunate that this event might prevent her from doing so. She didn’t want to do anything that might bind her to Leon against his will or without his knowledge, but now she was forced to use the spirit-binding ritual with her spiritual partner, which would save his life.
Alice didn’t think twice. She removed Leon’s face mask, pressed her lips to his, and through this contact, she transferred some of her mana through his mouth into Leon.
Alice’s mana entered Leon and headed to his mana pool, beginning to merge. In a magical display of red and blue light that covered Leon and Alice, it appeared that the merger was successful.
When the light faded, it showed that Leon was awake, and all his wounds had disappeared. Ironically, the man had forgotten he was dying moments ago and was now enjoying a kiss with Alice.
When the two parted, they found themselves looking into each other’s eyes, feeling a strange sense of understanding towards one another. When they realized the situation they were in, they both suddenly pulled back. Leon realized he was healed from all injuries and looked at Alice, who was blushing and looking at the ground.
“How did you save me?” he asked.
Alice felt afraid. She was worried that Leon might reject the soul bonding she had performed to save his life. Especially now that the soul bonding had already been done, the consequences would not be good for either of them if Leon decided he didn’t want it. The reaction wouldn’t be positive, and it could lead to the end of their careers as hunters.
Neither of them could ignore this bond, and as a result, they were now spiritually married. However, this spiritual bond was still incomplete; it required a physical bond. Alice felt embarrassed just thinking about it, especially since she was still a virgin. The only time she had heard about sex was when her teachers explained it, and that was a long time ago.
Alice decided to forget these thoughts and focus on what was serious. She wouldn’t hide anything from Leon and would tell him the truth. Gathering her courage, Alice looked at his handsome face and the puzzled eyes staring at her and said, “Listen, I won’t hide anything from you, but we are married now.”
All Leon said was, “Huh?”
