Chapter 1010: Five Thieves, Five Lords
“So…are we just going to be sailing this whole time?,” Zhen Hai asked his cousin.
“Until something happens, yes,” Zhen Feng replied while scanning the horizon and taking note that the [Shining Ark Serpent] was in front of them, still.
“Well, that’s boring…wanna go see what the rest of this ship looks like?”
“Yeah.”
…
[Milord? Are you okay?,] Nepherage asked once she noticed Zhen Liu sending waves of negative emotions down his links to the kaijin.
As the Kaijin Lord, Zhen Liu had to be able to filter out the thoughts and emotion of the kaijin without it affecting his ability to think and act and vice versa. However, in moments of intense stress or other emotions, he had a tendency to let his guard down.
While he would normally try to keep certain thoughts and emotions private, hearing that there was more than one War Elder running around was…worrisome.
Well, not exactly like him since these new ones were apparently made from the remains of Kaijin from lords that were different from the Invulnerable Storm Queen…hold up.
‘Five different lords? Which ones?’
In terms of previous Lords, Zhen Liu was technically only aware of three of them.
The Damned Drunkard, who was currently a ghost living in the library.
The Invulnerable Storm Queen, who’s legacy he was about to claim…aside from her daughter, because they were already a thing…
And the Devout Heretic, because there was something about that name that was bugging the hell out of Zhen Liu and he had no idea why. Plus, for reasons he couldn’t figure out, Logos and Pathos said that most of his section was open.
Either way, Zhen Liu knew that the [Kaijin Lord,] title had been passed down through the ages without any clear rhyme or reason, so he had no idea who these guys were. Of course, Zhen Liu partially expected to get stonewalled again due to the whole “memory sealing” thing that the previous Lords liked to do.
However, it appeared that life had a different idea in mind.
<=Well...as luck would have it, these five lords didn't choose to seal away their sections from our archives, only partially. So we can share you with some details. No names or power rankings though.=>
‘Ah…oh, I see where this is going.’
<=We also can't identify which kaijin have been stolen from yet due to needing visual information. Other than that we're good. Beginning download...now.=>
‘FUCK! Wait a minute…I know this guy!’

We interrupt this chapter to inform the readers that the following are merely snippets of what Zhen Liu was forced to mentally digest.

Kaijin Lord Profile: The Miracle Jeweler
Era of Activity: The Age of Stone and Rot
Description:
The Miracle Jeweler was once $+$(!, a simple craftsman who made stone carvings and toys for a living. It was simple life, but it was enough to feed him and his family. But…tragedy had the habit of happening in a completely unplanned manner.
One day, while finding new stones to carve into toys, he found something valuable.
At the time, he didn’t know what it was. To him, it was just a pretty stone that he decided to make into a bracelet for his beloved wife. But in truth, it was something so painfully valuable, that the powers that be decided to come down on him to take it away from him.
There was bargaining involved at first, but then…someone swung a fist. A fist strong enough that the Jeweler’s world shattered into dust, and he fell down, down, down…until he reached the bottom.
And once he did, he found something. Something that was a million times move valuable than the bracelet that was stolen, but infinitely lesser than the family he had lost.
But this something is what gave him the pressure he needed to transform his broken body into something harder than diamonds.
And with it, he would bring forth a miracle.

While cycling the pastures in which her cattle were grazing, the Herder found that a new building has appeared where right in the middle of a bountifully meadow. Wild and strange flowers grew around it like it was the embodiment of nature itself.

Kaijin Lord Profile: Nightmaker
Era of Activity: Reign of the Dreamlords
Description:
It was a time of prosperity.
Of dreams coming true.
Of people reaching the wildest heights that only their imaginations could reach…all except for @($-$!.
Because they were a slave, and as such, has no rights…except for one.
In this era of dreams, people who could always dream of pleasant things were valued…so that others could dream for them.
Nightmaker barely had enough to eat, barely had enough to keep warm and was only kept alive just enough so that he could dream of warmer times, better times, and provide that touch of basic human desire that his masters oh so craved.
But how can someone keep dreaming, under the boothill of another?
One night, driven by hunger or madness, Nightmaker found a way out of his bonds to try and find something, anything, to eat.
It was on this search though that he found himself in the doorstep of a very strange building.
A building that would raise this slave into someone who would become a bringer of terror, the King of Nightmares.
And he would remind these sky high dreamers, these lords and ladies who thought themselves better than everyone that they were just as mortal as he was.

Kaijin Lord Profile: Duke Discord
Era of Activity: The Enclave of Silence
Description:
Noblesse oblige.
It is the belief that those of higher status, the rich and powerful, are honor-bound to help those who are considered their lessers. @(#(_; was one who believed in such things. The Duke honestly believed that a man was only as powerful as the people who supported them, and he fought to make sure that the voices of the people was always heard.
But alas, the good have a tendency to get…exploited, and jealous rivals make for terrible bedfellows.
The Duke found himself cornered, his lands ravaged and his people on the brink of being slaughtered.
Was this to be the end? The voice of his people and himself, snuffed out like so many other “dissidents”?
But fate had plans in mind.
While escaping his pursuers, the Duke found himself in a strange hall, filled with knowledge that he never even considered.
And it was in these books that he realized that there was a power in his voice, in his people’s voice. All they needed was…a conductor.
Who would dare to silence an orchestra, after all?
…
Kaijin Lord Profile: The Devout Heretic.
Era of Activity: The Omninari Invasion
Description:
Once upon a time, @(#+; was once a zealot. In his devotion, he slaughtered hundreds of women in his blind faith, hard fast in the belief that they were heretics to an authority that ordered no such thing.
But then he died of a disease that wouldn’t be treatable until much much later.
After his death, he discovered that neither heaven nor hell was to be his fate. Instead, he found a new life on a new world, a reincarnation with no memories of his past life.
Of his past sins.
The man lived quite normally, quite peacefully, quite blissfully…until he couldn’t.
The Omninari Empire was on a warpath, a crusade, all in the name of their gods. And their target was the whole world.
Faces with such zealotry, such religious fervor, the Heretic felt something in his mind snapped as he realized just how similar these warriors were to his past self.
It was in that moment that he realized that his purpose was to not just live a new life…but to make up for his past.
To confront those who used the same logic, the same excuses as he once did, and to protect those who would undoubtedly be persecuted and executed for those same shitty reasons.
And it was in this state that he found himself with access to a strange place.
Filled with knowledge from his old life.
A place that granted him the ability to make the very monsters that were meant to punish those who indulge in “sin”.
