Kaijin Fighter: So I Have to Make Monsters, So What? – Chapter 1057

The Fallen Wave of Nightmares

Chapter 1040: The Fallen Wave of Nightmares

[Wooo boy, it looks like our little Prince got a little antsy.]

[I don’t blame him. This is the first time we actually get to exercise these new abilities to the fullest.]

[Well then, let’s make it…wait a minute, where’s Elder Ao Long?]

[Where do you think?]

[Have to admit, out of every attempt to try and break into Undertow, this one takes the cake for being the most absurd!,] Tortallion yelled as he dismissed the energy shield he just created. [Gonna need the big one for this!]

While this wasn’t the first time Undertow was attacked by outside warriors, this was the first time he had seen any of them attempt to surf a tidal wave into the city.

In retrospect, it kind of made sense.

Most other warriors would need to worry about blocking the wave or blocking the warriors in such a situation…but not Tortallion.

As the Storm Knights’ defensive specialist, he was more than capable of-

[Chaos Art: Whale Hammer!]

[What?!]

Before he could throw up a bigger shield, War Elder Gao Ao Long appeared right on top of with his stolen kaijin arm flexed and ready to fire. Overlaying the man’s fist was the energetic shadow of a demonic looking whale.

Gao Ao Long’s appearance didn’t shock Tortallion, he fully expected the abhorrent human to appear again at some point. What shocked him though was the fact that the grafted arm of Grand Blue seemed to be more in-sync with the human than before.

As evident by the usage of his old friend’s technique.

[How did-Why are you able to use that attack?!]

[Let’s just say, I found a really good surgeon. Now, break for me!]

[Gah!]

Before Tortallion could even swing his shield in the right direction to block Gao Ao Long’s fist, the attack came down on him like a torrent of rain.

A massive booming sound soon echoed throughout the cavern as the whale shadow made impact with both the old turtle kaijin, and the gate behind him.

Shortly after, the winged warrior wreathed in light flew in, followed by the other warriors still surfing on the wave.

[The way is open! Move in so we can clear the way for the rest of the troops!]

[Right!]

[Well…this isn’t good.]

[No…shit…]

[What do we do?]

[What the fuck you mean, “what do we do”? We move!]

<[What the fuck?!]>

<[We're under attack? We're actually under attack?!]>

<[Where's the guardian?!]>

As the giant wave impacted the gate to Undertow, a surge of water blew away the tranquil atmosphere and flooded several properties and boats that had the unfortunate timing to be in the area when it happened.

Panic ensued as the citizens of Undertow had spent centuries in defensive isolation, with the mere possibility of being attacked in such an abrupt manner being the last possible thing to occur in their minds.

But alas, reality was cruel and indifferent to such hopes and fears.

During this panic and havoc though, the people failed to notice that several humanoid figures had rode the wave up until it crashed. Once the wave made impact, the surfers had all taken to the air…and began to release their [Chaos] and aether with no inhibitions. It was at this point that they realized something was wrong.

<[W-Who the fuck are they?]>

<[I...I don't know...but they feel like Guardian Tortallion!]>

Over the people’s heads, these mysterious new warriors began to shine like baleful stars full of malice. The lights were bright and inviting, but had an insidious undertone to them.

Then again, this insidiousness probably came from the sources of these lights.

[Looks like we have an audience.]

[You mean victims?]

[Same thing!]

[Quit talking and just clear the landing zone already!]

[Right!]

These glowing warriors, numbering five in total, began to redirect their wild energies into various forms of attacks that came with significantly more solid definitions.

The sky was filled with energy constructs in the shape of crystal shards, giant limbs, arrows of light and strange looking arrays that gave off this aura of fatalism.

[Hysteria Diamond Blast!]

[Giant Stomp!]

[Annihilation Hymn!]

[Nightmare Seal!]

[Illustrious Feather Storm!]

The combined attacks came down on the city of Undertow like the judgement of an unforgiving heaven. In mere moments, the majority of the city’s structure and population would be reduced to ash.

At least…that is what would’ve happened if a certain group of monstrous warriors didn’t stick their nose in.

[I got the crystals, can you guys handle the rest?!]

[No problem! Frosty, mind acting like my backing vocals?!]

[I should be asking you that!]

[Echoing Frost!]*2

As Hurricroak and Frosttusk released their attack, the proud trumpet of a mammoth and the croak of a giant frog could be heard moments before a powerful blizzard roared upward and slammed into the barrage of attacks.

Most of the energy based attacks were interrupted by the wave of frost and noise, but the crystal shards were a bit too resilient to be affected by the wide spread burst of kinetic force.

Thankfully, Spring Brawler was able to take them out with a solid punch per shard.

Evidently, the invading warriors weren’t expecting such hearty resistance.

As for the resistors themselves, they were just stalling.

[How long until the maestro and the others get here?]

[ETA: One minute.]

[Aye.]

…Several minutes earlier…

‘Frosttusk, Spring Brawler, Hurricroak! Get up there and run distraction until we get involved.’

[Aye.]

“What the hell was that?!”

“I don’t know, but the bloodlust in the air makes it clear that this was definitely not an accident.”

In the training courtyard of the [Storm Castle], Zhen Liu, Zhen Feng, Zhen Hai, Terra and Blazejudicator were all standing in shock and awe as they felt the aura of the attacks coming down on them.

The weakest of the attacks appeared to have been sourced from a Grandmaster, maybe three, while the strongest of the lot had the same power level as the matriarch, an Overlord.

Normally, this wouldn’t be a big issue that me to the presence of Matriarch Zhen Xun Tian and her warriors. In a straight brawl between them and other aether warriors of the same rank, they would be able to win with no questions asked.

The only issue is that these new warriors were definitely not normal.

“Hey, am I going crazy or does the energy coming our way feel like-”

“Our great grandauntie when she got serious back at the arena against that one dude with the demonic arm? Yes.”

“Oh…fuck.”

“Well, this ain’t good.”

<[Papa...]>

It didn’t take the Zhen Clan scions long to realize that whatever the Fallen Clan had been doing down here, had led to even more versions of that freaky War Elder, albeit, with varying types of energy as opposed to being whale-like like him. Whether or not this development was a good thing would be up for debate.

Assuming they survived this encroaching battle.

At this exact moment, Terra was all set to tell the Zhen Clan scions to get out of here as this was going to be battle that was Undertow’s business, not the Zhen Clan’s. However, she was too slow.

Because the second she turned to face them…

<>

“Xiao Liu! We hate to impose, but we can’t-”

“I know, I know. Just hang on tight!”

Zhen Liu had already grabbed his cousin Zhen Feng by the shoulders and flew off towards the floating Fallen warriors. At the same time, she swapped out Blazejudicator for Nepherage and had her carry Zhen Hai on her back.

Terra, for her part, was just absolutely stunned and angry at the sheer recklessness of the Zhen Clan scions…until she heard Zhen Liu call out to her in [Chaos] Speech.

[Go and help out your father! We got this!]

After that, her mood shifted considerably as she realized that she was being freed up to go and assist her father with his battle. Elated by this realization, she flew towards where she felt her father was fighting someone using Sir Grand Blue’s aura and-

‘Wait a minute…how did he know that Tortallion was my father?’

[What the hell are those things?]

[They look and feel like us.]

[No, they look and feel like Buzza!]

[KAIJIN!]

The Grafted Ones knew damn well who had just put a stop to their fun, as their benefactor had given them a rundown on what kind of enemies would’ve been able to actually harm them.

First and most likely was anyone with the power of [Dragon Force]. The explaination involved something about how dragon force was perfect [Order] and as beings now of [Chaos], they could get easily injured.

The least likely, but was also the most beneficial to them as a whole, would be the kaijin of this current era.

Buzza had no idea who the new Kaijin Lord was, but he did tell them this.

[If you zzzee thezzze new Kaijin. Capture them. I can uzzzee them to make you even more powerful.]

And right now, they were staring at three of them.

[Oooh…opportunity is knocking!]
