Chapter 1068: I See Magical Girls
As soon as Jin Fang said that one, magical little word, her hairpin began to glow. Shortly after that, the claw made of [Chaos] on her hand began to glow before detaching itself and transforming into a blue and green osprey-like creature.
Granted, unlike normal ospreys, this one looked significantly cuddlier, had big round eyes and had enough concentrated [Chaos] in its tiny form to cause damage to kaijin.
This little bundle of joy was known as Coral.
[Imma go pick up some speed, be right back, big sis!,] Coral chirped before flying out of the door that he and Jin Fang came flying through earlier.
As the strangely cartoon-like osprey flew forward, a series of floating [Chaos] arrays appeared one after the other, forming a perfect line between Jin Fang and her bird.
‘At some point, I should probably ask Pathos if this running path thing is actually necessary for the transformation…wait a minute, did I just get into my mother’s tomb?’
…Meanwhile at the Library of Nowhere…
=Yes, yes.. shame the others will have to wait until they can show off their new outfits…=
=You mean referenced from all of the magical girl shows that our lord watched in his previous life?=
____Speaking of the others____
“Huh…”
“Hmm? Is something the matter, Bellona?”
“I’m not entirely sure, Alicia. But I get the distinctive feeling that Jin Fang has done something that should’ve waited until we were all together in person again…”
“Ah…you think that situation would be easier to do if we told darling about our academic woes?”
“Probably, but let’s save it for when he gets back from Roaring Tide.”
“Fair.”
…One last change in perspective, I swear…
“Torture Elder. It’s not that I don’t trust your instincts, it I’m pretty sure you just impacted that girl with enough force to-”
SUDDEN INTERJECTION OF UPBEAT POP MUSIC, ACCOMPANIED BY PIANO.
“What the fuck?”
SKREEE!
“What the-BAH!”
“GAH!”
[What?!]
Just as Gao Shen Yuan was going to tell Gao Dau to stand down and assist Buzza in ending the Kaijin Lord’s life, the sudden blaring of otherworldly music caused them to stall.
Shortly after, a strange bird with blue and green coloration came flying towards them from the direction they had sent Jin Fang flying, and proceeded to strike at all three of them one after the other in a rapid manner.
This suddenly assault not only knocked Gao Dau and Gao Shen Yuan onto the ground, but also forced Buzza to cease his infernal buzzing.
After all, it is kind of hard to maintain a consistent tone and rhythm using one’s wings, when one’s wings have a massive hole through them.
[H-how?! No simple bird could…wait!]
In the split moments he saw the bird fly back towards the door, he could feel a surge of [Chaos] that even he was unfamiliar with.
[A new application of Chaos? But how?!]
Evidently, Buzza was about to find out in a couple of moments.
And so was Zhen Liu, assuming he recovered in time.
“Ow…”
…Now back to Jin Fang…
[Big Sis! I’m coming in hot!]
‘Okay, I can think about that question later. For now, it’s time to start running.’
In the time it took Coral to attack the Fallen and Buzza, Jin Fang had gotten back up to her feet and took up a starting run position. Once she heard that Coral was flying back towards, she sprinted down the hallway of her mother’s inner tomb, aiming for the dead center of each of the [Chaos] arrays that had manifested before her.
As she ran, she made sure to begin circulating [Chaos] to specific parts of her body in a specific sequence.
‘Alright, first the legs…’
As she crossed the first array, the [Chaos] composing it exploded before recondensing around her legs into the form of knee-high blue and green boots made of some unknown metal that had a cloudy visage to them.
‘Then the arms…’
For the second array, Jin Fang crossed her arms as it exploded and recondensed into a pair of jade bracers inlaid with dark blue sapphires. Carved into the jade were stylized wings that resembled a falcon in flight.
‘Now the torso, which is awkward…’
At the third array, Jin Fang’s clothes suddenly disappeared as a result of the surging [Chaos] around her. However, her nudity was quickly covered by that aforementioned [Chaos] condensing into a blue and green battle dress complete with combat skirt.
*Bing-Bong*
…
|Shut up.|
*Bing-bong*
‘Alright, big finish…gods I hate circulating [Chaos] in my head!’
The last array for this transformation sequence required careful timing on both her and Coral’s part, since they had to make contact in the dead middle of the array at the exact same time.
If they didn’t…past practice attempts ended with Jin Fang being launched into a rock wall. Unironically, she actually felt closer to Zhen Liu after these attempts, having thoroughly understood the crap he went through back when he couldn’t cultivate correctly.
[Big sis, I am T-minus three seconds from making contact.]
‘Three, two…contact!’
At the final array, Jin Fang had to literally headbutt Coral with her [Chaos] infused head, which would then cause the osprey to to fuse with her hairpin and transform into a stylized tiara.
But that wasn’t the end of her full transformation.
When Jin Fang practiced this transformation run before in the past, she noticed that there was always an excessive amount of ambient [Chaos] after she had finished. Initially, she ignored the presence as being simple run-off. However, over time and seeing how the kaijin and Zhen Liu wielded [Chaos] in such a free flowing manner, she started wondering if she could do it too. Better yet, could she make herself a weapon out of this stuff?
‘Now, take control of the surrounding [Chaos], like a vortex…’
And so, through much effort and experimentation, she managed to figure out a way to turn the excess [Chaos] into a proper weapon.
One that looked a bit silly and dainty on the surface, but was perfectly dangerous and suitable to someone like Jin Fang. Granted, it wasn’t exactly a subtle weapon.
‘Why do all of these [Chaos] weapons look like toys? Bah! Whatever.’
With weapon in hand, Jin Fang activated a feature that came with a voice over.
[Batter up! Lighting Glamour!]
…And now the pay-off…
Despite being caught off guard by the sudden appearance of that weird [Chaos] bird, Gao Shen Yuan, Gao Dau and Buzza were still experienced warriors that could take punches and get back up regardless of their conditions.
However, even experienced warriors can get surprised more than once.
As the trio were in the process of picking themselves back up to get back to committing horrible crimes against humanity, sudden gust of wind blustered out from the inner door and almost knocked them over their feet again.
Keyword: Almost.
Having learned from the osprey attack, the Fallen warriors and Buzza made sure to brace themselves for any small but powerful projectiles.
Unfortunately this made them easy targets for a full sized warrior woman, dressed in a blue and green combat skirt outfit, armed with a toy-like dark blue baseball bat with dials on the bottom, that was spitting out giant arcs of lighting from the very tip. In a way, she was swinging a torch made of lighting.
With the even more unfortunate victim being none other than the Buzza the rogue kaijin. After all, the best way to beat a bug was to zap the hell out of them.
[Thundering Homerun!]
Especially with an attack that can produce chain lighting bolts!
Jin Fang didn’t even bother to try and give a quip or say anything witty. She just swung as hard as she could once she was in batting range of Buzza.
BAM!
[GAAZZZZZ!]
As a result of this hit, Buzza was sent flying towards Gao Dau and Gao Shen Yuan, sending all three of them flying backwards and into a heap.
[Majin Makeup: Storm Shojo!]
After delivering this mighty blow, Jin Fang landed on her feet and entered into a crouch for a brief moment to rest her baseball bat across her shoulders. Once it was there, she got back on to her feet and proceeded to stare down the Fallen warriors.
“You assholes sure had a swell time attempting to loot my Mama’s tomb all while trying it kill me and my boyfriend,” Jin Fang said with no small amount of venom in her voice. “But now it’s round two, and I’m not taking any tap outs.”
With one hand, Jin Fang began to fiddle with the dials on the base of her club, until it made another announcement.
[Batter up! Rain Glamour!]
“So why don’t you just get washed?!”
With that questionable battlecry, Jin Fang swung her bat again and launched a literal rain of water bullets the base of baseballs.
…
‘D-did I just wake up from a pain induced coma to the sight of being rescued by a magical girl? Huh?’
