Mine now

Chapter 1102: Mine now!

“Distractions are dangerous in everyday life, and downright deadly in battle. Make sure to use them to you advantage.”

-A quote from a well-endowed warrior who won all of their battles, naked.

BANG! BANG!

[Really? Gunning for my head when there’s an apocalyptic force of nature about to turn your men into slag?,] Gao Ao Long taunted in a strangely invigorated voice.

[I ain’t worried about them. I trained them into an elite fighting force that can take down forces three times their number or size. All that matters right now, is taking you off the board!,] Zhen Xun Tian roared as she prepared to attack once more, feeling stronger and faster than she had in years.

Moments ago, Zhen Xun Tian had managed to stun the everliving shit out of Gao Ao Long long enough to go in for a surprise attack.

Unfortunately, literally moments before she could land a blow, the [Shadow Sovereign] attacked.

The sheer shockwaves of the attack, and their close proximity to the mechanical monstrosity, completely interrupted her plans and stopped her long enough for Gao Ao Long to recover…partially.

After that though, things got even more vicious.

Once Tortallion had suddenly transformed himself into an equally large turtle monster and began to block against the beam, the [Chaos] that arrived with him had an immediate effect on the surrounding area.

For starters, the oppressive dragon force that was pressing down on everyone had lighten up by a considerable margin. While this aforementioned oppression wasn’t enough to make a serious impediment to their movements, it was enough to hamper their breathing.

It felt as if literal weights on their chests had been removed.

At least, this was the case for those cultivated nothing but aether.

For those who cultivated [Chaos], the effects were…a little different.

On Zhen Xun Tian and Gao Ao Long, anyways.

Perhaps it was due to them being unable to properly submerse themselves in a [Chaos] rich environment before now, but they were feeling significantly more lively than they had in years. Well, parts of them.

Zhen Xun Tian wasn’t entirely sure why, but she felt more inclined to use her ink constructs and the ink, in turn, seemed significantly more responsive to her instructions. They also seemed significantly more resilient than before.

On the flip side, Gao Ao Long’s grafted arm seemed stronger than before and seemed to take even less effort for him to swing around than before.

On top of all that though, there was one other thing.

Zhen Xun Tian was hearing a voice in her head. One that was oddly familiar and strange all at once.

[Next chance you get, blast him with a barrage of ink bullets.]

‘What the fuck? Where did you come from?’

[Just do it. Also, I’ve been here like…most of your life. You’re just hearing me now.]

‘Huh…okay, fuck it. Wait, I don’t think I know any arts like that.’

[Try this one.]

[Ink Art: Arrow Squid Migration!]

Performing a quick series of hand seals, Zhen Xun Tian manifested a giant seal in front of her that vaguely depicted a kraken begin surrounded by waves and significantly smaller squids.

Upon closer inspection of this aforementioned seal, one would be able to detect a significant amount of [Chaos] was condensed into its surprisingly small structure.

[Fire!]

With a shove of her hands, a barrage of arrow squids made of inky black [Chaos] began to pour out of the seal in front of her and surge towards Gao Ao Long.

Each of these arrow squid constructs contained enough concentrated [Chaos] to outright punch through the body of an [Avatar], at least by Zhen Xun Tian’s estimate.

Unfortunately, neither her nor Gao Ao Long’s had their [Avatars] out right now.

Instead, they only had their [Regalia] on at this point, having more or less exhausted most of their aether.

That didn’t mean they were out of options though…as evident by the sheer amount of [Chaos] starting to condense around Gao Ao Long’s grafted whale fist.

[You’re not the only feeling the flow of Chaos. Try this! Chaos Art: Impact Breach!]

With a swing of his fist, Gao Ao Long launched forth a [Chaos] projectile shaped like a whale that ripped through the air and aether like a real breaching whale.

Chomp!

And like a real whale, the projectile devoured the arrow squids like they were nothing more than a light snack.

‘Well, shit. That ain’t good. Wait, why did you want me to use that move? It got destroyed like it was nothing.’

[That was the point. I needed to see something in regards to that fucker’s stolen arm.]

‘See something? You’re in my head, how are you able to-‘

[Hush now, you and I both know that you love mysterious bullshit shenanigans to be asking questions like that.]

‘I mean… you’re not wrong, but still.’

[Try this next trick.]

[Ink Art: Great Fisher’s Harpoon!]

Not wasting the opportunity to do a follow up, Zhen Xun Tian flew upwards before condesing inky [Chaos] into an ornate looking harpoon.

[HA!]

Once the harpoon was fully formed, Zhen Xun Tian quickly launched it at speeds that broke the sound barrier and aimed it directly at Gao Ao Long’s head.

Unfortunately, she wasn’t fast enough.

SCHINK!

[BAH! BITCH!]

Fortunately, the harpoon still made an impact.

Whether it was boldness or instinct was unclear, but Gao Ao Long had managed to raise his arm fast enough to block the harpoon from impaling his head…by impaling his arm instead.

Needless to say, he wasn’t happy about this turn of events.

‘Welp, I managed to impale his hand…now what?’

[Is this a trick question?]

‘Huh?’

[Why do you think most harpoons have a chain on the end?]

‘In order to…oh!’

[There we go.]

And he was about to become significantly more upset about the situation.

[You multipronged-BAH!]

Just as Gao Ao Long was about circulate his [Chaos] to try and destroy the harpoon jammed in his arm, he found himself getting pulled forward by a strong force.

It was only then that he realized that the aforementioned ink harpoon was actually connected to a chain made of ink that was growing out of Zhen Xun Tian’s body.

Once this implication was understood, Gao Ao Long determined that the best course of action was to pull back even harder and possibly reel Zhen Xun Tian as opposed to the other way around.

But, in the exact moment he was about to pull back, the ink chain had suddenly become a lot more slack.

Zhen Xun Tian had flew forward in time with Gao Ao Long’s pull, and had gotten close enough to be in striking distance.

But she didn’t attack.

[What the-]

Instead, the next thing Gao Ao Long knew, Zhen Xun Tian had suddenly flew straight upwards and back to where she was moments ago. Which was confusing as hell…until he noticed the chain was wrapped around his arm.

Then he got real pissed.

[Wait a minute…YOU ROTTEN-!]

[Ink chain, spike!]

SCHINK!

[BAH!]

With a a flex of [Chaos], Zhen Xun Tian caused spikes to grow along the entire length of chain.

These [Chaos] filled spikes dug deep into Gao Ao Long’s flesh and made it now nigh impossible for him to remove the chain.

And made what happened next inevitable.

[Get ready for this next part, jackass!,] Zhen Xun Tian shouted before she began to whip around the chain hard and fast.

As she did, the spiked parts of it began to dig into the flesh of the Grafted arm, right where the original surgical scars were located.

[YOU CANTANKEROUS-]

But, by the time, Gao Ao Long managed to react, it was too late.

[PULL!]

SPLAT!

“GAAAAAAAAAAGGGGHHHHH!”

[MINE NOW, BITCH!]

Using the last of her aether and [Chaos] to strengthen her arms, Zhen Xun Tian pulled on the chain with as much force as her arms could muster and ripped Gao Ao Long’s grafted arm clear off of his shoulder.

This should’ve been part where Zhen Xun Tian would’ve claimed the grafted arm of her mortal foe as a trophy to boast in front of him.

However, that didn’t happen.

Instead, a spray of colorful energy particles came gushing out of both Gao Ao Long’s shoulder and the grafted arm.

[What the-hey! Get back here!]

And the formerly grafted arm began to fly around like a wild firework that hadn’t been properly launched from its firing tube.

[Why the fuck is it-WHOA!]

Before Zhen Xun Tian could even figure out what the fuck was going on, she got dragged off by the severed arm like a child with a large dog.

This would’ve been hilarious under most circumstances…just not now.

If anything, it was concerning.

[What the fuck is going on?!]
