Chapter 247: Atelier Logos
=And here are the forge halls, well, technically crafting halls would be the correct term.= Logos presented after guiding Zhen Liu and Jin Fang through multiple halls and a upside-down staircase. Neither was certain how they got through that, but they learned to stop questioning this place. It was headache inducing.
‘Huh…this is so viciously video game-like, it hurts,’ Zhen Liu thought to himself as he saw the forge halls.
The three of them had entered a circular room with three distinctive doors, two on Zhen Liu’s left and right and one right in front of him.
The door to his immediate left had a very simple wooden look to it, but one could see that drawn on to the wood frame was all sorts of mathematical formulas and strange doodles that depicted nonsense like combining a rat with a rock. Pictures on the front of the door was a bubbling cauldron.
‘Alright so that’s the alchemy room…wait, do I even have the skills necessary for that?’
The one directly in front of him was a door that appeared to be made of brass, decorated with all sorts of gears, metal bars and pipes. Emblazoned on the front was the picture of a hammer and anvil.
‘Forge room…I get the infinitely weird feeling that I’m going to be a regular in that room and I will be leaving with significantly weirder and weirder gear…’
The last door, to his immediate right was…weird, to say the least.
The door’s frame looked like it was made of white marble and done in Greco-Roman style, with depictions of fruits and animals decorating it. The image placed upon on this door was a chef’s hat, with a knife and fork crossing behind it.
“Is…is that a kitchen?,” Zhen Liu asked aloud while pointing at the door.
He could understand the forge and the alchemy room, weapons and magic pills was essential in a world where might makes right, but the kitchen was…weird. Luckily, Logos had an answer.
=Some arts and formulas in this world require a deeper understanding of their history and culture, well, the environment they came from. We have found that food works as an excellent gate way into determining such things.=
“Huh…”
=Also, certain natural treasures in this world are better prepared as food as opposed to medicine. The steps of your forefathers proved that.=
“Of course.”
=Now then, the alchemy room and kitchen will be momentarily irrelevant for the time being, please follow me into the forge room and we can start preparing your first…I suppose aether tool isn’t the correct way to term it…chaos tool. Yes, that will do.=
Logos made their way across the room and waved their hand in front of the forge door, causing it open by itself, entering shortly after. Intrigued by the sight and curious of the room’s content, Zhen Liu and Jin Fang just shrugged and went along with it.
As soon as the two of them crossed the threshold, the door closed behind them.
________________________________________________
=Welcome to…well if we’re maintaining the theming, the Hellfire Forge.=
“Holy shit this place is big!”
“Wait…isn’t that another daemon?”
“Huh…it is!”
The so-called forge was surprisingly large for a door so small, but it made sense given the room’s contents.
Before them was a massive furnace shaped like a monster’s gaping maw, with all sorts of pipes connecting it to various parts of the room, a roaring fire burning brightly inside it but locked behind teeth-like cage.
Directly in front of this furnace was another daemon, similar to the dress-up one, but significantly more muscular in design and only two sets of arms. Granted, one of those arms ended in a rather large blacksmithing hammer covered in runes.
A moment later, the daemon suddenly activated, revealing that this particular daemon on only had one massive mechanical eye in the center of its “face”, that began to look at Jin Fang and Zhen Liu up and down.
|Forge Daemon online. Analyzing entrants…complete. Kaijin Lord, Kaijin Consort, recognized. Accessing inventory registered to current lord.|
Seconds later, a holographic display showing off a list of things Zhen Liu had recently brought to the library appeared before their eyes.
Frankly, it was a lot longer than he anticipated.
“Welp, there are those weird remnant things…hold up…did y’all butcher that dragon corpse when you put into storage?”
=Indeed we did,= Logos answered, =but worry not milord, we made sure to keep the skeleton intact for puppet creation. In fact, that’s one of the options on the ideas list.=
“Ideas list?”
*Pop!*
“Bah!”
As soon as those words left his mouth, the list in front of him bursted into a shower of light before reforming into several displays with shining blue window borders, all showing off various pieces of equipment that could be made from the materials he had brought in.
Hammers, shields, armor, swords and instruments, it appears that this forge could make it all.
However, out of everything in this display showcase, one item in particular kind of stood out for being very out of place, namely due to it’s borders being rainbow-colored.
“Hey…what’s the deal with the drinking gourd with the weird borders back there?”
=You mean this one?,= Logos asked while waving her hand, causing a ripple to occur in the displays.
The window displays all faded away except for the rainbow bordered one.
Now that he had a better look at this specific item, he could see that in comparison to the rest, this one looked significantly more…anachronistic.
It was a drinking gourd from what he could tell, but it has this strange glass bottom that looked like it could be flipped opens and distinctive looking slots that made it appear to be a centrifuge of some sort.
Scratch that, it was a literal centrifuge combined with a gourd and decorated like a toy…what was with all the toys?
=May I present to you, your first possible chaos tool: The Godoku Gourd,= Logos proudly presented.
The moment Zhen Liu heard the word “Godoku”, he realized something mildly nasty.
‘Hold up…is this…made from who I think it is?’
