“Hold up,” Zhen Liu said as he held up a hand while staring at the description window again, “what do you mean ‘unexplored’? I’m like…90% sure there were at least three other guys before me with access to this…probably forbidden place, you mean to tell me none of them had taken down a dude with the Godoku Body Constitution until me?”
=Not exactly…your predecessors had their own paths to take and some of them did acquire a remnant similar to this one, but they never made a tool out of it. They had used it to enhance the power of one of their kaijins instead. And by the same metric, the choice is up to you. Would you like to create this tool, or would you like to use it to enhance a kaijin?=
“Real fast: by enhance you mean as in tack on to one of the kaijins currently running around the library, or like…new ones that I throw this in during the creation process?”
=Either or. You’re essentially bestowing the Godoku Body Constitution to your kaijin, meaning they’ll get all the benefits and drawbacks associated with it.=
“Huh…Imma just take the tool.”
=Wise choice.=
“Wait,” Jin Fang interjected, “are you sure you want to do this? I’ve read up on the Godoku Body Constitution before, it is absurdly powerful and could turn any of the kaijin into a powerhouse for centuries to come. I mean…Nepherage has asked to eat people before, wouldn’t this be perfect for her to have?”
Zhen Liu scratched the back of his head as he thought about giving his first kaijin the Godoku Body Constitution…it wasn’t a good idea.
“Normally I’d agree, but Nepherage is also the leap before looking type… there’s a non-zero chance she ends up trying to eat a dude who is spiritually more powerful than her and that guy takes over. I really don’t want to deal with the prospect of rogue kaijin.”
“Wait, is that even possible?,” Jin Fang asked. From what she had seen, the kaijins were all loyal to Zhen Liu to a fault. She has been around them for so long that the idea of any of them going rogue or dangerous was incredibly foreign to her.
“I don’t know,” Zhen Liu answered truthfully, “but I really don’t want to find out.”
=Oh shit, right. I need to go check on that…=
“What was that?”
=Nothing, milord. Are you willing to commit to the creation of this chaos tool?=
Zhen Liu took one last look at the description screen before taking a deep breath and nodding, a bit more sure than before now that he had reasoned out the logic for making this thing.
=Acknowledged beginning upload of the instructions to the Forge Daemon.=
Logos grabbed the display of the Godoku Gourd and squished it in her hands until it formed into a ball of rainbow colored energy and light. Once she was satisfied with its shape and look, she walked over to the forge daemon and shoved it into its eye.
The action seemed a bit barbaric and at odds with Logos’s general…existence, but whatever she did, it worked.
The daemon shuddered for a moment before beginning to move.
|Instructions received. Creating Godoku Gourd.|
Without saying much else, the forge daemon brought up it’s one hammer ending arm up high before slamming it down on the anvil hard.
*CLANG!*
When it did, Zhen Liu and Jin Fang could hear hundreds if not thousands of tiny little mechanisms go off around them before the [Godoku Remnant] that Zhen Liu had acquired prior to now appeared from the ceiling via a tiny mechanical arm reaching down and placing it midair before retracting.
*CLANG!*
With another swing of the hammer, flames came pouring out of the furnace behind the daemon and engulf the tiny remnant until it looked like a fireball the size of a watermelon.
*CLANG!* *CLANG!*
Two more swings of the hammer, and a pair of aether arrays manifested around the fireball and began to orbit around it, pouring in additional inputs of aether and [Chaos] as they rotated. The fireball in the center began to take on a more defined and gourd-like shape as they did.
Amidst the flames and chaos, Zhen Liu could see a more solid shape and texture beneath it that shined like polished iron.
*KA-CLANG!*
|Forge job, finished. Godoku Gourd has been created.|
With that final swing of the hammer, the flames dispersed like a cloud and left behind a single, funny looking drinking gourd that looked more like a toy than weapon.
It floated gingerly in the air for a bit before slowly descending towards Zhen Liu.
A part of him wanted to recoil from it, his logical brain telling him that the gourd was probably burning hot after the forging process it had went through. However, his instincts told him it was safe as he reached out and plucked it from the air.
‘Huh? No information dump this time? That’s weird,’ Zhen Liu thought as soon as he grabbed it. Normally, this entire library and the kaijin made it a habit of shoving his brain with all sorts of knowledge. The fact that it didn’t happen this time was both relieving and a little strange.
He looked over the gourd in his hands, before asking a question he had never had to asked before now, at least in regards to the Library.
“So…how does this thing work?”
=I don’t know.=
“Wait, what?”
=This is unexplored potential milord. We never had an opportunity to make something like this before.=
“Then…why did the description window show this thing had two abilities baked in?,” Zhen Liu asked as he distinctly remember seeing the words “mix” and “cannon” at the bottom of the tool’s window.
For the first time since becoming a patron of their crazy library, Zhen Liu saw a confused look on Logos’s face.
=Milord…there was no bottom text.=
Huh?
