Chapter 384: When the bugs start talking smack…
*Bing-Bong*
The writer of this work would like to remind the readers that the technical term for our band of monstrous protagonists is “kaijin”, not “demon”.
The lot of them are being called demons because the locals mistook them as such and the kaijin have exactly zero reasons to correct this misidentification.
Thank you for reading this short message.

“Wassup jackasses?! Who wants to fucking die tonight?!,” Lacerage shouted at the warriors dressed in black cloaks and blue masks.
“Lacerage! Mind your language!”
“Oh what’s it matter, Archanidame? they’re all gonna die by our hands in a couple minutes anyways!”
“Still though! Improper!”
“Bite me!”
Through the link between the kaijin and their lord, Lacerage and Archanidame had front row seats to this whole escapade of Nepherage, Frosttusk and Hurricroak bouncing around and messing with a black marketeer like some kind of karmic punishment.
Now that they were here in person, Lacerage could confirm that these”shadows” only looked intimidating to humans at least, in comparison to her…not by much.
To everyone who wasn’t technically a giant insect humanoid kaijin, the mere appearance of these shadows caused people to start praying to whatever deity was listening at this moment in time.
Speaking of listening, Lacerage’s rather violent question did not go unnoticed by the warriors present, it was just that the reaction was…oddly mixed.
As the shadows, their sponsor and secondary elements stared in the kaijins’ direction, a whole range of emotions occured.

“What the fuck, another demon?!,” Victor cursed as he got up from his seated position and to his feet, getting ready to bolt, “did someone open a gate to the fucking underworld? Which preacher preached this shit, I have words.”
Victor stared towards the direction the voice originated from and quickly spotted the source. His eye twitched as he noticed not one, but two distinct forms illuminated by moonlight.
“Oh joy, there’re two more of them.”
Simos and Graff had also heard the aforementioned demonic voice and had gotten up from their seated position to stand by Victor’s side.
Partially to get a better look at these new demons, partially due to them now seeing Victor as their unofficial leader.
Out of the three of them, he was the most experienced criminal, as well as he did seem to have a better idea of escaping these situations.
Plus, he had mentioned starting a new leaf after this shit, and honestly, it sounded like a good idea to them.
“What the fuck are we dealing with this time? More demonic toys? A three eyed giant?, Some kind of cartwheel monster?” Simos complained/asked.
“Huh…looks like a…lacewing lady and a spider lady,” Graff observed, “is it just me or are a lot of these demons surprisingly feminine and comely looking. Is the person summoning them a pervert or something?”
“I don’t know, all I know is…hold up.”
Victor and Simos both stared at their companion, Graff, with a critical, noticing that but about how the demons looked.
“Comely? As in attractive?,” Simos asked.
“I mean…yeah,” Graff responded.
“I…which one?,” Victor asked incredulously, “because they all seem downright terrifying to me.”
“The one on the right.”
“The one on the…my friend…that is a spider. That is a giant demon spider lady,” Simos pointed out.
“Well yeah!”
“Why though?”
“I have a thing for legs.”
“…”
“What?”
Simos and Victor stared at Graff in judgemental silence, holding back the obvious observation that those legs were giant spider legs that seemed to glisten in the moonlight like sharpened spears of hatred and despair.
“That revelation aside…I think we can use the sudden appearance of these femme fatales to our advantage…”
“Am I seducing the spider?”
“No.”
“D’awww…”

[Why do I feel like someone’s lascivious gaze was directed towards me for a moment?]
[I don’t know, but there are a lot of eyes directed us at the moment. Wouldn’t be surprised someone here is kinky.]
[Disgusting.]
[What? Don’t like the idea of tying any of them up?]
[No, I preferred to be tied up.]
[Fair enough!]

A majority of the shadows present were too busy providing aether to the [Five Shadow Kings] formation and couldn’t really spare the brain/observational power to see who or what just insulted them.
The ones who weren’t however managed to see the origin of this call out.
“What the fuck? Is that a giant lacewing?”
“And a spider from the looks of it!”
“Shit! Looks like there are even more of those demon things!”
“Ah fuck, what do we do? The leaders are still in the formation dealing with our first demon problem.”
“Yeah, about that, anyone know why it feels weird in there or am I going crazy?”
“It’s probably nothing man, but we got more obvious issues to deal with.”
None of the shadows present had a ranking above Aether Master at this point in time, and unfortunately for them, the demons that showed up we’re Grand Master rank again, at least.
If they wanted to take out these demons they would need to work together and coordinate their attacks, unfortunately they couldn’t that.
Not because they were unable to, but because they had to maintain the formation and risk having to deal with six demons at the same time instead of two out here and four in the formation, fighting their leaders.
They either needed to wait for their leaders to come out of the formation with new of victory and help gang up on these demons, or hope that some external factor can keep the demons at bay for a while.
(Un)fortunately, they would get that assistance.
“Hold up… y’all feel that aether?”
“It’s Miss Venus! She’s moving out to attack!”

‘Godsfuckingdammit! There are more of them?! How and when the fuck did that little orphan brat summon them?!,’ Fia cursed as she saw the silhouette of pair of feminine looking demons.
While it was a touch too dark for her to see details, she could at least make out that the one on the left had wings like those of a giant insect with giant eyes to match, while the one on the right hand a sleeker look, but giant fucking spider legs coming out of them.
In essence, the two new demons definitely had a “bug” motif going on…and Fia absolutely hated it.
If there was one thing Fia Venus hated more than people fucking her over during a deal, it was bugs.
‘On the one hand, I could probably just leave this all behind, mark this transaction as a loss and report to the higher ups that we got fucked over by those three idiots while presenting them their heads as compensation…in the other, this entire night has been fiasco and I want to vent out my frustrations on some righteous do-gooder demons who think they’re better than me…Let’s go with that one.’
As Fia made the decision to go on a small rampage her aether began to flare up, two distinctive colored auras began to surround her.
Now, having multiple colors to one aether wasn’t that weird, it was an indicator of one’s aether affinity and the color spectrum determined purity of the element.
However, what made Fia’s aether abnormal was that the colors clearly weren’t blending as they would in someone with naturally occurring dual elements. Instead, it was if two different people were overlayed and producing aether in the same spot.
Of course, not many people would be able to tell the difference at a glance.
As she began to circulate her aether faster and faster, she quickly drew from her outfit a small axe shaped totem made of bone-like material and placed it into the palm of her hand.
“Been awhile since I used this, but I’m in a bad mood.”
Once it had made contact with the aether circulating in her flesh, the totem quickly took on a more metallic hue and began to radiate a rather ghastly aura.
[Armor on,] Fia said in a distinctive two toned voice as her aether circulation reached a peak.
Moments later, metallic gold aether armor with an ox motif formed around her, giving her golden horns and making her formidable build look even more so.
However, this golden armor was incomplete. At various points and at the limbs specifically, the armor present looked more akin to bone and glass, a decidedly sinister contrast to the rather sacred looking armor.
In her right hand was a large battle axe, the side of the axe’s head depicting a screaming skull made of runes.
“Time to rampage,” Fia said in a decidedly deeper tone as she leaped towards the two demons. Axe in hand, she looked decidedly more like a punisher of hell than the monstrous woman she was about to fight.

[Whoa! Looks we got ourselves a Grand Master up in here! And here I was thinking it going to be a boring fight!,] Lacerage said with glee
[Indeed. I’ll summon the zako to deal with the fodder since we can’t do that ourselves now…say, what’s the deal with that axe of hers? It doesn’t looked like an armament to me,] Arachnidame pointed out.
[I think it’s an aether tool, you know, like the one our lord uses?]
[Oh yeah it does… actually, doesn’t it look kinda like that bone club he keeps at his hip?]
[Huh…it does.]
[…]
[…]
[Think we’ll get praised if we bring him that axe?]
[Oh, most definitely.]
[Excellent!]
