Kaijin Fighter: So I Have to Make Monsters, So What? – Chapter 451

Understanding the Abominable The Known

Chapter 434: Understanding the Abominable: The Known

=And that children is the end of today’s lessons. Now you two are free to…the parasite in the box is weirding you guys out, isn’t it?=

“Yes.”

“Why does it feel wrong to look at it?”

“Mew!”

A bit after Zhen Liu had bailed from the library like a bat out of hell, Logos and Pathos decided to put the parasite on ice and go back to educating the orphan siblings for the rest of the day, especially after being informed by the kaijin that their lord wanted to help his grandfather fulfill his desire to [Reconnect].

Unnecessarily nice to be certain, but hey, it gave them free time to do whatever.

As the children continued to stare at the caged parasite, Logos let out a sigh as he decided right there and then that this would be a learning opportunity. One dedicated to the kaijin, [Chaos] and the more questionable sides of their library and their lord’s cultivation formula.

Perhaps it wasn’t completely relevant to their future prospects, but it didn’t hurt to be prepared.

=Alright children,= Logos addressed Janice and Jasper as she made her way closer to the parasite cage, =as a quick review, and as a related subject matter to this parasite, what can you two tell me about what a kaijin is and what they are made of?=

“Oh! I know!,” Janice answered first, “the kaijin are warriors that are born from mortal’s deepest desires and are the rep…repre…repretata…”

“Representative.”

“Yeah! That! Thank you, big brother!”

“No problem.”

“They’re the representatives of our souls…or something…”

=That is correct,= Logos agreed, =but what are they made of?=

“They’re made of…um…” At this point, Janice began to bite her bottom lip in thought, trying to remember the exact conditions needed for kaijin creation. However, before she could answer, her brother Jasper did in her stead.

“Kaijin are made of [Cores of Desire] and materials of our world that have been infused with [Chaos],” Jasper answered, “the latter combination is what gives the kaijin their form, but since the materials that make up their bodies are inherently adverse to [Chaos], the cores are needed to continuously provide [Chaos], right?”

Logos looked pleased at the answers that the children gave, for it was a clear confirmation that their efforts were not in vain and that their rudimentary educational program was working as intended.

Granted, Logos and Pathos did steal some of these teaching techniques from the memories of their current lord and the internet, but what the children didn’t know wouldn’t hurt them. Who knew a cartoon rabbit could be so educational?

=You two are…mostly correct, but you have both forgotten one last important component.=

Jasper and Janice looked at one another, confused.

“What did we forget?,” Janice asked.

=The kaijin lord, of course.=

“Master Zhen Liu?”

=Well him, yes, but also…perhaps a visual example would help with this.=

With a wave of his hand and a small flux of aether, Logos created a holographic image that displayed what appeared to be a cartoony version of a human, a kaijin, a giant swirling vortex labeled as [Chaos], and a strange stream of energy that seemed to flow from the vortex, to the human and then finally, the kaijin.

Now that he had the display ready, Logos began his lecture in earnest.

=Jasper, you said earlier that a [core] was the means in which a kaijin channels [Chaos] into their bodies to maintain their forms, right?=

“Yes…is that not correct?”

=Not exactly…the [cores] enable a kaijin access to the [Chaos] they need to exist, that is correct, but it doesn’t connect them directly to the source of [Chaos], it connects them to the intermediary: the kaijin lord.= As Logos explained this statement, he made to point towards the display in the order of which he was explaining which part of the chain served what function.

=The kaijin are unable to connect themselves to the source of [Chaos] because they are made of it,= Logo said as he circled the kaijin with his finger in the display, ,,=If they attempt to do so, they may very well get reabsorbed by it. It is only possible for someone like the kaijin lord, who must be mortal, who is able to be fully connected to the source of [Chaos] and empower the kaijin.=

Jasper and Janice nodded in understanding at the explanation, but then the latter asked the all important question of this lecture.

“But…teacher Logos, what happens to a kaijin then if the kaijin lord isn’t there to provide [Chaos]?”

At this single statement, Logos grew dark as he recalled the outcomes of this happening, many, many times before.

=Many of the kaijin will die when the kaijin lord dies, grief and lack of power does that, but…there are exceptions. The abominations.=

As if to explain his point for him, the display suddenly removed both the vortex and the human, leaving only the kaijin behind.

=When there is no more source of [Chaos,], the kaijin will breakdown, not like how a toy break down, but instead, all of the materials that make it up will.=

The image of the kaijin displayed had two distinct colors to it, one dedicated to the core and one for the rest of the body.

However, during Logos’s explanation, the body of the kaijin began to slowly change to the match the color of the core while the kaijin itself began to look more and more…twisted.

=In a bid to try and preserve themselves, the kaijin will begin to convert the very materials it’s made of into [Chaos]. The process works to an extent but it’s highly inefficient. As more and more time passes, the body of the kaijin becomes more unstable physically and spiritually distorting them as a result of this desperate bid for survival.=

It was at this point the display kaijin in question, suddenly distorted itself into looking even more monstrous than before.

The sight frightened Japser and Janice, but it also caused the former to ask an all important question.

“Are…are there any abominations around now?”

=Well…=

Logos and Pathos knew the answer to this question, but whether or not they should share it was up to debate.

Of the kaijin lords they had served up until now, they were aware of about four active “abominations”, excluding Grub.

The duo had long assumed they would have eventually broke down, as per the laws of order and chaos and time, but these four were still around for some reason or another.

Granted, Logos and Pathos could only know they existed, not where they were located.

=…I can only say that they are around, yes. But as to where they might be…I cannot say.=

“Oh…okay.”

A small part of Logos holes that these four wild ones would forever be lost and return to the flow of aether and [Chaos] on their own…but…he knew that such a thing couldn’t happen.

‘Destiny has a tendency to have the past and present collide. It is through this aftermath that the future is determined…wasn’t that what the Buddha told me once?’
