Location: The Prison of Nowhere

“Okay, so y’all weren’t kidding about them being…textureless,” Zhen Liu commented as he stared into the specially designed cell for the parasinner, “why do I have the feeling I might be staring at a lovecraftian style horror and my brains is just trying to substitute things it understands in reality in order to shield it from the terrifying truth?”

{Censorship is bullshit and probably because I represent what you want in a sexual partner?}

“That…explains some shit…also, I’d threaten to taze you but I think you’d get off on it.”

{Oh you know me well, daddy.}

“Stop that.”

When the others told him that the parasinner was textureless, he thought they meant that the parasinner was made of slime or something, with strange mechanical bits added in for reasons unknown.

But lo and behold, on the other side of a specially made protective prison formation, was a creature that looked a lot like a glitched video game NPC, with the skeletal structures suggesting that someone was trying to make use of erotic game mods.

The only parts that seemed to have texture, or at least have a sense of “reality” to them, was some strangely colored external mechanical components that would look more at home on a scantily clad sci-fi space explorer than a…whatever the fuck the parasinner was exactly.

Aside from that though, there was another question floating in his mind as he stared at the parasinner.

‘I can confirm that this guy is connected to me, but it doesn’t feel like the same connection I have with the kaijin…what the fuck are you?’

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
{What’s wrong? Don’t like the idea of having an audience?}
“No,” Zhen Liu shook his head as he re-adjusted the history scroll in his arms. Zhen Liu had indeed been reading up on the Zhen Clan and the Blossoming Scales Kingdom as Jin Fang had said, but he was also up to other things, namely dealing with his newest…creation.
“More like I’m concerned with what happened to your previous body,” Zhen Liu gestured, “since that technically wasn’t yours.”
In a sharp contrast with how the parasinner was looking like a textureless NPC just a few short days ago, she was now looking significantly more solid.
As of this moment in time, the parasinner looked like the cybernetic version of a succubus, with a silver metallic frame that as shaped into a comely figure, and the strangely colored mechanical bits taking on a more seductively demonic shape in contrast to their bulkiness from before.
The only issue with this appearance though was that it wasn’t the same as it was yesterday.
In fact, she was organic yesterday…and made mostly of bones.
{Like the new look?,} the parasinner asked in a teasing tone, {I call it Model:Silver. It’s a bit more futuristic than Model: Bone, but I quite like it.}
“I see…seriously though, what happened to the skeleton zako you were possessing?”
{Bah, they’re fine. See?}
From some invisible pocket, the metallic parasinner pulled out a small marble made of bone to show what had happened to the zako they had possessed just the other day.
Albeit, the boney marble looked significantly more polished than what he remebered.
In fact, Zhen Liu could sense that the inherent aether and [Chaos] in that zako marble was several times stronger than what Zhen Liu had initially detected.
If the average zako Zhen Liu and the others could summon about as strong as an 3rd ring Aether Acolyte, than this marked marble was radiating the strength of a 1st ring Aether Master!
‘Okay…so what happened that day wasn’t a fluke…’
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

“When the fuck did you guys tie her up like that?”

=We didn’t.=

{I am a very clever girl.}

<=Stop that=>

{No.}

“Anyways, so…you guys literally have no idea what she is exactly?,” Zhen Liu asked Logos and Pathos.

=Not exactly….=

{If you wanted a closer look, you can just open up the door and rub your hands all over me,} the glitchy parasinner commented, {get a hands-on look and I get a good rubbing.}

“Stop that.”

{Never.}

Ignoring the parasinner’s commentary, Logos began to elaborate on why he said “not exactly”.

=Well, we’ve extracted remnants from previous kaijin lords before, and we’ve used them in everything from enhancing a kaijin to creating new treasures and medicines. This is the first time we’ve seen a remnant form into a core though…=

=Because….huh…I don’t know.=

“Oh, wonderful, I’m trailblazer in regards to weird interdimensional life creation,” Zhen Liu sardonically mused, completely disregarding the questionable commentary that Logos and Pathos just made in regards to their origins.

He had a feeling their answers to any questions about that would be behind some incredibly dark conspiracy, and he didn’t have the time to explore that thread…yet.

Right now, he had an illegitimate demon child to figure out,

{Oh ho! So you do know why I call you “daddy”!}

“Stop that, anyways,” Zhen Liu said in an attempt to move the conversation along and get it back on the topic at hand, “we have established that the parasin here is essentially connected to me like the kaijin, but on a more intimate level because my own desires feed into them.”

{Predominantly your lust, your thirst makes me stronger.}

“Yeah, that. But! Have established why her existence scare the kaijin on an instinctual level?”

{Because I’m sexy and they know it?}

  <=Not that, but the reasoning can be established that way.=>

“And you’re speaking in-sync, so that means the reason is actually cryptic or unsettling.”

<=Her touch would've fundamentally change the kaijin.=>

“Say what?”

<=We think so anyways.=>

“Not better.”

<=Well, you see...=>

Logos and Pathos then began a very long and complicated explanation, that Zhen Liu could sum up with the following sentence.

“So she can somehow swap out the desires of a [Core of Desire], completely?!”

=More like corrupt the data with a new insert of data in the form of herself, but yes.=

Logos quipped,

“Yeah…that doesn’t sound good.”

{Well now that you know my dirty little secret,} the parasinner interjected, {does that mean I’m not allowed to touch any of the kaijin?}

“Not without an actual body and na-wait…would her having a body prevent her from being able to do what you guys were talking about?”

<=Mmmm.=>

“What?”

Instead of answering immediately, the two curators looked at each other grimaces on their face before nodding to one another.

Pathos rose one of her questionably corporeal hands and proceeded to hold it in a snapping position.

*Snap*

“Grunt!”

{What’s this? A delivery boy?}

“Whoa, dead otter!”

As soon as Pathos snapped her fingers, a Rusty Armor zako wheeling in what appeared to be a book cart carrying a frozen Ravager Otter, entered the room in which the parasinner was imprisoned.

“Wait…that stone…isn’t that a-”

=An aether beast core? Yes.=

=However, thanks to to the fact that this aether beast has a fully developed core, it just reached the threshold to be barely passable.=

“Sounds about right,” Zhen Liu commented as the zako placed the book cart in front of the bound parasinner. Once it had completed its task, the Rusty armor zako stood in attention, awaiting for its next set of orders.

*Creak!*

With the zako now out of sight and off to the side, all that was left in Zhen Liu’s field of vision was the parasinner and the Ravager Otter corpse.

“I mean…I’d prefer to have the body materials be a bit more curated, but if y’all think-”

=Parasinner, please reach out and touch the Ravager Otter in front of you.=

{Wouldn’t you rather I touch you instead?}

=No.=

{Fine…}

Doing as instructed, the parasinner reached out to touch the otter’s corpse…which is when all hell broke loose in that itty bitty cell.
