Kaijin Fighter: So I Have to Make Monsters, So What? – Chapter 807

Olstenna Attacks

Chapter 790: Olstenna Attacks!

‘Aight…I need to GTFO and get down there…’

Not wanting to draw attention to himself, Zhen Liu didn’t say anything to his cousins as he simply slinked out of his seat and walked out of the door like it was the most natural thing in the world.

That said…Zhen Liu was so focused on walking out of the room that he failed to notice this little conversation between his cousins.

“What the fuck kind of language was that?”

“I’m not sure, but…did you guys… understand him?”

“Sort of, but…I don’t remember ever learning a language like that…”

“Yeah…do you know what a kaijin is exactly?”

“I don’t…but why does it sound familiar?”

‘Please tell me you guys have a profile on who this guy is.’

=Working on it now, milord. The moment we heard that man use the kaijin’s tongue, we started cross referencing our records in regards to any Kaijin Lords that were active on the Dozing Salamander continent.=

‘And?’

∆We have about a half dozen lords with a dozen or so kaijin each!∆

‘Fucking fantastic…’

“Big bro…that guy…who…what is he? Why does he feel like… someone we shouldn’t fight?”

“I…I think he’s an aetherii…but… something’s off…”

Over the past few weeks, Jasper and Janice have been getting in their combat training via a method that Logos and Pathos has called, the “live fire method”.

Basically, they argued that the best way for Jasper and Janice to learn how to defend themselves, as well as exercise their own [Chaos] cultivation, was to have the two orphan siblings participate in active combat.

Granted, the two spirits of the library wanted to have the children fight off ravenous beast in the middle of insect Hell, but Archanidame convinced them that a controlled environment like a gladiator arena was significantly safer.

As such, Jasper and Janice managed to gather a whole bunch of experience in the art of battle by literally battling all manner of opponents for the sake of gold and glory, under the aliases of Mad Ink and Mad Stitch, respectively. The two of them had come up with these names awhile after they had learned their respective [Chaos] Formulas.

It was based on this rather eclectic gathering of experience though that these adoptive siblings could sense that this Olstenna guy was bad news. Or at the very least, the man was an opponent that they could not reasonably face without getting horribly injured in the process. They had managed to avoid serious injuries in the past by relying on their [Chaos] based defensive measures, they could feel it in their guts that that little trick wouldn’t hold up in this situation. If anything, the two realized that they had become liabilities.

(Un)fortunately, they weren’t the only ones thinking about this little factor.

‘If I take out the little ones first, I’ll have an edge in this battle.’

‘If I stall, we win. But I need to get those kids out of here, first!’

The atmosphere became rather tense as the Ignarii and disguised kaijin began to plan out their next ten moves, the two of them staring each other down like rivalling beasts, aiming for the same carcass.

Evidently, this tension had an effect on the crowd as well.

Many had initially wanted to leave the venue after seeing the sudden and explosive arrival of this strange Ignarii warrior, but ended up changing their minds due to the sudden declaration of challenge he made towards the arena fighters.

Some were under the impression this was all part of the event, others could tell that this was wholly unexpected.

Either way, these two types of viewers had the exact same desire running through their brains.

They wanted to see who would win if things came to blows.

Luckily for them, that was exactly what they were going to get.

Literal sparks in the air began to form as both Olstenna and Hurricroak began to circulate their aether alongside a little something extra throughout their bodies.

Both fighters were waiting to see who would make the first move, both wondering if it would be a better idea to make it themselves.

“…”

“…”

“…fuck it.”

[Rail Bolt!]

[Fire Fist!]

Both eventually deciding to attack each other in the exact same moment!

‘Feels like Hurricroak is about to go in hard and heavy…Nepherage, Frosttusk, Razorstella, Spring Brawler, Archanidame, Lacerage, Screamira, sit rep. Estimate time arrivals?’

[Frosttusk and I are currently weaving through mercenaries as we speak. Apparently there was an aether beast swarm near us and there were a lot of hired help this time around. We’re moving as fast as we can, but we’re still a good four minutes away.]

‘Not great, but not bad either. Next?’

[Spring Brawler and I are about six minutes out. We got delayed because some rival schools decided to pick a fight with one another like animals, and one of them just tried to punch out Spring Brawler…yeah, we’re going to be a little later.]

‘Feel like there is some irony in the fact that the mercenaries are somehow more well-behaved than the students…’

[The spider-bitch and I have just finished our meeting with your grandfather. He was simultaneously pissed yet proud that we faked his stamps of approval on a lot of the projects around here. It won’t take use too long to get there, but it’s gonna be five minutes, max.]

‘That might be an issue, but understandable.’

[Here.]

‘Wait, what? What do you mean by “here”?’

[I mean, that I am here at the arena, I just need to know what to do and when to do it.]

‘Oh…dope. I’m about to hit the ground floor soon, meet at the arena entrance here and then we can-what the fuck am I sensing now?’

∆=Uh oh…=∆

Quicker than anyone could reasonably see in the blink of an eye, Hurricroak swiftly turned her right arm back into its natural state so that she could swap it over into [Hornet] mode and fire off a railroad spike sized stinger that had been accelerated with lightning aether.

Despite looking on the heftier side, the stinger flew with a level of speed that would make lightning bolts jealous.

On the flip side, Olstenna fired off a fist shaped ball of flames that looked hot enough to melt stone back into magma, and had this strange purple tint to it.

It made for a sight both beautiful and foreboding.

A loud bang occurred the moment the two attacks collided with one another, the conflicting electrical and heat energies being the reason.

This result didn’t surprise the crowd, for they assumed it was just a normal exchange of blows, but it was surprising for the ones who fired off the attacks.

After all, both of them were using energies that would normally overpower aether in a straightforward dust up like this.

‘So this is the power of a kaijin, huh?’

‘That flame…it feels like dragon force but also…not? What the hell?’

When Hurricroak fired her bolt, she expected it to punch through that fire like it was nothing more than a breeze and pierce through her target like a staple. Instead, she found her bolt had melted upon impact.

When Olstenna fired off his fist, he expected it to melt that bolt like it was ice before burning a hole straight through his target. Instead, the flame was put out in an instant.

The former recognized this moment as being a bad thing. She got burned by dragon power before and hated it, and now here was yet another motherfucker that was able to injure her.

‘Whatever happened to those easy fights where I could just dominate the battlefield and not worry about getting burned?’

Meanwhile, the latter…didn’t put much thought into it, because he opted to fire off another attack instead!

Purple colored flames began to manifest around Olstenna’s fist again, except this time it took on the shape of a triceratops’ head. Of course, only Hurricroak and the siblings recognized the flame as such, everyone else watching thought it was a dragon.

[Shield-Horn’s Flame Charge!]

*Fwoosh!*

Olstenna fired off a triceratops made of purple flames directly towards Hurricroak’s direction, causing her to jump to the side in an effort to dodge the attack, but he wasn’t aiming for her at all.

‘Oh fuck!’

The dinosaur made of purple flames, instead, began charging towards the young siblings who had yet to make a move.

“Shit!”

[Lighting-]

[Ignition Kick!]

Hurricroak was just about to use a movement art to get the kids out of there before they could get burned, but was interrupted by Olstenna using his own movement art to appear before her like an apparition made of flames. Then again, that could’ve been due to the veins of his heat on his skin glowing with significantly more intensity than before, in a purple color no less.

Either way, Hurricroak was forced into one on one, and couldn’t do anything to prevent the kids from having to defend themselves.

“Shit!”
