Chapter 792: Fire Fight
=Milord…=
‘Shut up.’
∆Would you care to explain…∆
‘Please shut up.’
[I’m not saying anything, manager.]
‘Thank you, Scream-‘
[What kind of line is, “Make it worth my while”?!]
‘I WAS GOING WITH THE FLOW!’
[NEEEEERRRRDDD!]
‘RAAAAAAAAGHHH!’
=Oh, we should probably mention that your [Ghost Flames] should be able to deal with this guy’s purple flames. Call it an educated guess.]
‘No solid information?’
∆We have like a dozen entries on natural and artificial aether flames that take on a purple hue. We can probably give you a more solid the longer you fight that guy.∆
‘Got it. Might as well try using these [Ghost Flames] for a proper fight this time. Also, thank you hammer for turning my club into an axe instead of a sword. How’d you know I prefer to use those?’
[…]
‘Fair enough.’

“What the fuck…”
“Who…who the hell is that?!”
“I don’t know but he is one intimidating looking motherfucker…wait, why am I swearing so much?”
As absurd as it sounded, the Stone Claw Arena was still crowded at this point in time.
Many of them had eventually picked up on the fact that this mysterious Ignarii(Olstenna) was definitely not part of the arena’s planned program and was some sort of intruder that was aiming to fight the arena’s mystery fighters for some unknown reason.
They had all heard the man make some sort of declaration of challenge, the problem was that he used some sort of language that was neither Hoof Speech, Feather Talk or any other language associated with the continents.
But whatever language it was, the mystery fighters seemed to understand and didn’t appear to be happy about being challenged in such a dialect.
The moment the attacks started flying between the Ignarii and the mystery fighters, that should’ve been their cue to leave the arena and find someplace safe to hide. But due to a mix of innate boredom and the sheer drama of the fighters involved, they couldn’t help but continue watching this absurd spectacle of a fight.
This feeling increased when they were all suddenly bombarded by a sudden scream that dispelled the Ignarii’s strange monstrous attack, only to be suddenly shocked again when a second unknown warrior appeared that seemed to be speaking the exact same language the Ignarii was using.
Combined with the fact that this new warrior was decked out in a black [Regalia] and wielding a freaky giant axe made of bone with one hand, absolutely nobody in the crowd wanted to walk away from witnessing what was going to happen next.
Of course, none of these feelings mattered to the observed fighters. They were too busy eyeing each other down.
…
The Kaijin Lord kept his axe leveled at Olstenna, making it clear that he was ready to fight and drawing all of the latter’s attention to himself.
[Get the kids out of here.]
[On it.]
As he did this, Screamira and Hurricroak took the opportunity to evacuate Jasper and Janice from the premise.
With his eyes fully locked on the Kaijin Lord, a strange, almost maniacal smile began to form on Olstenna’s face.
[Worth your while?,] Olstenna repeated with an amused tone. [The stories did mention that the kaijin were either the epitomy of arrogance of the embodiment of cowardice. I’m glad to see you’re more of the former than the latter.]
As these words left Olstenna’s mouth, the man began to circulate his aether faster and faster, causing the veins of heat that crisscrossed his skin to glow hotter and hotter, and purple flames to encapsulate his whole being.
Knowing full well that Olstenna was about to attack, the Kaijin Lord repositioned his axe so that he could swing it at a moment’s notice or use it to block. Evidently, this was a more prudent move than he had anticipated.
At the exact same time the Kaijin Lord had begun to wield the axe properly, Olstenna had leaped forward to perform a rather simple yet devastating attack.
[Flame Fist!]
A jet of purple flames fired from Olstenna’s fist, the heat of which began to boil and melt the ground the flames flew over.
Olstenna knew damn well that this was a very obvious move and that his attack was going to be blocked or countered, but that was the point. He wanted to see what this so-called “Kaijin Lord” was capable of.
…
‘Oh what the fuck, how hot are those flames fucking burning?!,’ Zhen Liu thought to himself as he saw the purple jet of flames flying towards him.
Zhen Liu had seen these flames being used against Hurricroak and the orphans, moments ago, there was a massive difference in watching someone use a dangerously powerful elemental treasure and being the target of that aforementioned elemental treasure.
While he wasn’t feeling the shadow of death breathing down his neck, Zhen Liu couldn’t help but feel a bit nervous at the purple flames barreling towards him.
In reality, this jet of flames was flying at Zhen Liu at speeds that would make bullets seem slow, but thanks to a combination of his cultivation level, [Chaos] enhancement and the sheer amount of adrenaline pumping through his veins, Zhen Liu was able to perceive the flames moving at a much slower pace. In other words, bullet time.
‘Okay, just going to have throw out the idea of using my [Regalia] to block this shit, because I can already tell that whatever the fuck this shit is going to just burn away my [Chaos]. Great…’
One would think almost getting killed on a semi-regular basis would’ve numbed him to the fear of injury and death, but Zhen Liu actually found it necessary to maintain this fear of mortality.
After all, he already died once and he didn’t want to go through that again, anytime soon.
‘They say I could use [Ghost Flame] to counter…let’s try it!’
Zhen Liu began to focus inward, tapping into the [Ghost Flame] that had become a part of his formula.
‘Where is-ah, there it is.’
Once he got the feeling right, eerie green flames that carried the feeling of death and despair began to manifest around the bone axe in Zhen Liu’s hand. The funny thing about this phenomenon was that Zhen Liu didn’t even the direct the [Ghost Flame] to do this, it just naturally decided to merge with the bone axe unprompted.
‘Huh…aight.’
Zhen Liu had originally wanted to try and use the [Ghost Flame] to wrap himself in a veil of ghastly green flames to look like some kind monster out of a horror story, but a flaming axe made of bone worked too.
‘So I guess I just…swing?’
Running on a mix of instinct and general know-how, Zhen Liu swung the burning axe down directly into the flaming purple jet. As he did, the words for an art he never learned or used before appeared in his mind…alongside the image of an oddly familiar undead knight performing the exact same move.
‘Let’s…let’s not think about the implications of this for the moment,’Zhen Liu thought to himself before activating the art.
[Wailing Execution!]
*OOOOOOOH!*
As that name left his mouth, the green flames on Zhen Liu’s axe took on the form of a bright green specter, moments before coming in contact with the purple jet of flames.
The result of the two flames coming in contact with one another though was rather…unexpected.
*Fwomp! Blip!*
‘Ey yo, what the fuck?’

=Well, that narrows our list down by half. Guess I knock off the Amethyst Tiger Flame and the Violet Bagua Flame…=
∆What about the Purple Healing Spring Fire?∆
=Still in the running.=

“What…”
“The…”
“Fuck?”
Everyone in the audience, and the fighters themselves, were rather stumped when the [Ghost Flame] came in contact with Olstenna’s purple flames.
A safe assumption to these forces colliding would be a monumental explosion that rocked the whole arena and blew the roof clean off.
However, that was not the case.
Instead, the two flames ended up colliding with one each other, began to act as if they were merging into one giant ball of multicoloured flames that looked as if it would result in a giant explosion…until ultimately fizzling out like a firework sparkler in the rain.
The audience was rather confused at this anti-climatic exchange of power…
*FWOOSH!*
*FWOOSH!*
“HOLY-”
“OKAY, WASN’T FOR SHOW!”
…until both fighters on the arena floor proceeded to fire off balls of flame to their left and right in order to make sure their powers were still working.
‘I never had anyone negate my flames like that before,’ Olstenna wondered as he prepared himself to charge. ‘Unless…’
‘Wait, is that what Logos meant by being able to deal with that guy’s flames?,’ Zhen Liu thought to himself as he readied his axe and empowered his legs.
Despite both sides being curious as to what had occurred in the moment their attacks collided, both still understood that they were in the middle of a fight.
As such, they both independently decided to charge at each other like maniacs.
[Surprise, motherfucker!]
[I will break your with my fists!]
