Kaijin Fighter: So I Have to Make Monsters, So What? – Chapter 849

The Library gets noisy

Chapter 832: The Library gets noisy

[Huh…well that’s unexpected,] Hurricroak commented aloud via her telepathic connection to the other kaijin.

[What’s unexpected?,] Nepherage asked, fully knowing Hurricroak commented aloud for the sake of starting a conversation. Which was honestly fine by her, since she was starting to get bored.

Let it be known that medical watch duty is incredibly boring.

[Long story short, the former Kaijin Lord, Anton, just mixed a bit of [Chaos] into his voice just so he could sound like a little bit like us, and…well…

“How the hell did y’all understand that? Hell, why did I understand that?”

“That definitely wasn’t Tide Tongue or Hoof Speech…”

“Seriously though, what the fuck was that?”

The Zhen Clan scions looked at one another with surprised expressions plain on their faces.

Whatever language Anton had used in this moment, definitely wasn’t anything that they had ever heard before, and yet, it also sounded like every language they had learned about.

It didn’t have the same flow as Tide Tongue, yet it sounded just as fast and strange.

If didn’t have the rigidness of Hoof Speech, yet it had the same structural integrity with a little bit extra mixed in.

It didn’t even have the same primal base as the language of the aether beasts, yet had that same savagery mixed with a bit of civility.

In essence, it was if the words they had just heard were some ancient root language that seemed to take a little of everything from everywhere and yet sounded as if everyone else simply based their language off of this one.

Whatever the case may have been in regards to this language though, just seeing that the scions of the Zhen Clan understood him was enough to make Anton crack a surprisingly wide smile.

“Well I’ll be damned! Looks like y’all have a touch of that little something extra that qualifies you to join our ranks…or at the very least, will allow you to come and go from this place at your leisure,” Anton said with an amused tone. ” Y’all have the potential, but you still lack the spark…Zhen Liu, you doing okay?”

“Huh? Oh…uh…yes,” Zhen Liu replied while trying to keep the screaming in his head confined to just there and not his voice.

When Anton started using the kaijin’s language, Zhen Liu wanted to do nothing more than reprimand and tell him not to do anything like that with his cousins being present.

Unfortunately, with his powers still being muted for some gods forsaken reason, Zhen Liu could do nothing more but watch with terror and dread as his “master” started to drip feed his cousins little nuggets of truth in regards to the Library of Nowhere and [Chaos].

And now, judging from the way Anton was looking directly at Zhen Liu, that feeling in his stomach was going to get worse.

“Xiao Liu, your family appears to have that same little spark that qualified you to join us not too long ago. Albeit, they’re not quite there yet,” Anton said in a painfully enigmatic tone of voice. “Why don’t you show your cousins the true library as well as tell them what I’m talking about? I’m sure they’ll find something more enlightening than what you borrowed last time.”

“Last time?”

“What does he mean by last…hold up…”

“S-sure thing, master!”

“Harriet, why don’t you help out too? You can take a break from your usual routine today.”

“Huh? Uh…,” Harriet (Hurricroak)paused as she looked over to Zhen Liu on what she should do. Thankfully it was fast enough and stealthy enough that Zhen Liu could quickly gave his consent before anyone could notice.

“Sure. I can take a break from…shamisen practice.”

“Dafuq is a shamisen?,” Harriet heard Zhen Xing whisper to Zhen Yue.

Ignoring this question, “Harriet” and Zhen Liu proceeded to walk out of the room first in order to lead the others.

As the procession of young warriors left the room, Anton decided to give the girl one last thing to think about.

“By the way, your cousin in the infirmary also qualifies too, so make sure to pick something out for him that would be appropriate.”

“Of course, master,” Zhen Liu replied in the most neutral tone he could muster at the moment.

A part of Zhen Liu wanted to do nothing more than rip Anton’s newly formed head off of his shoulders and watch the blood flow all over the stone floor, but alas…Zhen Liu knew better than to indulge in such violent urges. Especially in front of people that just so happened to be his family.

‘Wait a minute…where did all that come from?’

=I mean…the game plan did involve our lord eventually telling his family the truth about us and his abilities eventually, right?=

=That’s…fair.=

=Well…he’s not doing bad, but…=

=I’m fairly certain that if he could soil himself by now, he would.=

“…and that’s what happened, please don’t hurt me, I’m still underdeveloped!”

“Hmmm.”

For the past couple minutes, Daria Nerissa-Zhen has been keeping her hands on Spring Brawler’s chest plate as he rattled off answer after answer to the ringmaster’s mother’s questions.

What made this moment particularly unsettling to Spring Brawler was the fact that these questions were surprisingly in-depth.

He was expecting surface level and ready questions like, “how many kaijin can my son control at any one time?,” or “who among you is my son’s favorite to fight alongside with?”.

He wasn’t expecting things like:

“What kind of materials have my son been using in creating his kaijin?”

To which, Spring Brawler answered honestly.

“Has he been collecting his cores in an Orthodox or Unorthodox manner?”

Spring Brawler had no idea how to answer that one.

“Why is a majority of the kaijin he’s been creating coming out female? Is he sleeping with them?”

Once again, he had no idea why this was the case, but he knew the ringmaster saw them in every light except a romantic one.

“Are you guys the reason why my son has four additional fiancees in conjunction with Jin Fang?”

That was all on Zhen Liu, not them…probably.

“If you, my son or your fellow kaijin have been murdering people, have you made sure to either make it a statement or dispose of the bodies properly?”

On that last question, when Spring Brawler answered that they just usually scramble their memories before ditching them in various environments, he swore he heard Daria click her tongue in disapproval. Although, she did seem to perk up when she heard that Jin Fang had been actively helping in regards to falsifying evidence.

‘Is deviousness genetic? I’m starting to think it’s genetic…’

On a side note, he did also make sure to inform of what had happened today in regards to Olstenna, the Spatial Beaver Trio, the Calamity Sisters and that weird ass inquisitor.

When Spring Brawler mentioned that last person, he could tangibly feel Daria Nerissa-Zhen become uncomfortable for a split second, but he knew better than to bring it up in front of her.

Regardless, after having all of her questions Daria proceeded to release Spring Brawler from her surprisingly strong grip, giving the proto-kaijin a chance to asses the damages.

Surprisingly, his body did not get dented in the process of this strange interrogation, but the pain of being manhandled in such a way sort of lingered.

However, this physical relief was about to be replaced with mental and emotional distress. Because, shortly after letting him go, Daria made a rather accurate observation followed by a rather questionable request.

“So…it’s safe to assume that as of this moment, Jin Fang, Jinju Ren and Rianna are probably in some sort of room separate from my baby boy and his cousins, yes? Probably watching him in some voyeuristic manner at the expense of him acting a bit like a fool?”

“How in the hells did you-”

“But they’re probably going to be leaving that room shortly to help extract information from that trio you mentioned earlier. The ones who were holding their dicks in a protective manner?”

“I…guess?”

“Good, in that case, can you or the curator spirits that have been watching me this whole time, lead me to the holding cell of that aformentioned trio and that Olstenna fellow? I’m fairly certain I can get them to spill their guts before I have to actually spill their guts.”

“Uhh…”

=I don’t know, and even if I want to know, I get the feeling that she’ll probably somehow grab us by the throat.=
