Chapter 919: …doused in [Green].
=Well…this is a problem.=
=Pathos, not the time. Did you remember to mitigate the emotional feedback to the others?=
=Good.=
=Contingency measures? What contingency…oh!=
________________________________________
With their enemy currently laying on the ground with his head popped open like a smashed watermelon, Zhen Liu/Razorstella, Nepherage, Frosttusk and Hurricroak were itching for another fight.
There were probably more enemies in the jungle, more unclaimed treasures to find and even more locations to conquer.
But alas, such unknowns were unappealing at this point in time. Instead, what they really wanted to do was rip each other to pieces.
The SATAN Monkey’s [Wrath] was far deeper than anticipated, for it seemed to linger in the hearts and minds of both mortal and kaijin alike, even when it’s death should’ve brought an end to it.
Which is why, even though the group was standing around the defeated form of the SATAN Monkey and should’ve been celebrating, they were all looking at each other while waiting for someone to make the first move so that they could gang up and destroy them.
However, just before they could act upon these unnaturally violent urges and probably take actions that would horribly scar their psyches forever after, they were stopped.
How?
Sound of someone landing in the middle of an incredibly deadly situation.
“What the f-father?!”
“Sorry about this son. Blazejudicator!”
[Virtue Ignition: Patience]
Swip,swip, swip, swip!
[What the…]
[Oh, going down…]
[Huh…]
“My head feels…fuzzy.”
Thud*4
To put an action scene in perspective, Zhen Yan appeared from above, landed in the exact middle of the four combatants about to unironically eat each other’s throats out and proceeded to blast them all in the chest with a small burst of dark green [Flames of Patience].
[Patience] in Blazejudicator’s flames proves to be much stronger than the hastily created [Flames of Wrath] made by the SATAN Monkey, so the sudden shift from mildly strong [Wrath] to significantly stronger amounts of [Patience], caused the group to pass out like a flock of tranquilized goats.
In fact, the sudden shift from consciousness to unconsciousness was so sudden that the kaijin all reverted back to accessories on Zhen Liu’s body, including Razorstella.
As for Zhen Liu himself, his [Regalia] disappeared due to the sudden loss of consciousness.
“Xiao Liu!”
[Don’t worry. I got him.]
Before Zhen Yan could catch his unconsciousness son before the latter hit the ground, Blazejudicator opted to exit Zhen Yan’s body at this time since the battle was now more or less over.
While neither the spiritual kaijin or Zhen Yan were entirely sure if the SATAN Monkey was actually dead, given that they could sense very weak signs of aether coming from it, they were at least certain that they weren’t getting back up anytime soon.
After all, even the hardiest and most regenerative warriors needed time to repair a smashed-in skull, a partially severed spine and a million other miscellaneous cuts, bruises and burns.
“Actually…hold on.”
FWOOSH
For added measure though, Zhen Yan proceeded to use his recently enhanced Ignarii aether mastery to lock the SATAN Monkey in flaming chains infused with [Patience] and [Sloth].
Long explaination cut short, even if the SATAN Monkey regained consciousness, they’d be rendered in an incredibly vegetative state due to the combination of [Patience] and [Sloth] sapping anything even remotely close to motivation from its body.
“Phew.”
With everything urgent now out of the way, Zhen Yan let out a much needed sigh of relief.
That said, there were still a few things that needed to be addressed.
[Okay, good news is that Executor is still breathing and alive…bad news is that we’re gonna have to carry him.]
“Yeah…”
For example, the fact that his son had been, apparently since he returned from the dead, running and controlling monstrous warriors that looked to be like the demons described in very old stories of the world.
Blazejudicator and their kin had proven to helpful multiple times throughout this endeavor, given that all of the targeted treasures were now in possession of the Zhen Clan. However, Zhen Yan couldn’t help but to feel…not necessarily suspicious, but apprehensive.
After all, having Blazejudicator in his head was already a trip and a half as is. Zhen Yan could barely wrap around what the hell his son goes through on the daily, if every single one of his puppets were like…that.
As such, he figured now was better time than never…probably.
Honestly, he could’ve waited until after they got back home and everyone recuperated, but ain’t not time like the present.
“Blazejudicator-”
[Please, call me Blaze.]
“Isn’t that a little too…familiar?”
[We’ve shared a body and had back-to-back sessions involving life and death being in the balance.]
“Blaze it is.”
[Now, you were going to ask me something?,] Blazejudicator reminded Zhen Yan as they made sure Zhen Liu was laying in a relatively comfortable position.
“Right, well… I’m not sure how to phrase this…”
[Blunt helps.]
“Okay…what are you guys, exactly?”
[“You guys?” Don’t you mean just “you”? Also, didn’t I give you the rundown when I hopped in your head in the first place?]
“I mean ‘you guys’ since it appears that y’all have been pretending to not be sentient for awhile, and you did but it was the… what’s the term…sparknotes version. So I would really appreciate a more in-depth and detailed explaination as to what you guys are and why you seem to be dogmatically loyal to my son despite being way stronger than my entire family combined. I could feel the loyalty from when you were in my head.”
[Ah, that. Well…]
Technically speaking, Blazejudicator was the least qualified kaijin to explain this shit for two reasons.
First, they were originally some kind of parasitic entity that wasn’t loyal to Zhen Liu but had wanted to, more or less, [Drown them in the color of Lust, so that they may bring about a new age of hedonistic debauchery of the most carnal variety. No home shall be spared.]
‘Wait a minute…where did that come from?’
Second, and arguably more importantly, they were the youngest of the bunch… technically.
This kind of moment should’ve best been handled by Nepherage, the de facto leader of the kaijin, or Zhen Liu, their progenitor.
Unfortunately, they were both fast asleep.
Luckily, there were still some more qualified explainers then them, Blazejudicator just had to make sure they were conscious.
Thank the heavens for telepathy.
…
[Screamira, Spring Brawler. Weird question. Are either of you still in the wandering ruins and happen to have one of the girls with you? I should clarify that they need to be in a physically well enough state to explain to Executor’s father what we are exactly and what we do.]
[Huh?]
[Wait, what happened to the producer and everyone else?]
[Oh, yeah. The monkey we were fighting turned into some kind of raging monstrosity that turned Executor and everyone else into rage monsters that ripped him to shreds, and almost each other to shreds. We managed to knock them out before they did anything…traumatizing. I don’t think we psychiatrists exists in this world…]
[They don’t, but is the aformentioned monkey dead, captured or did it somehow managed to escape?]
[Former two options.]
[How can it… actually, never mind. Princess Jinju Ren is currently in the safe arms of the rest of the Zhen Clan. Should I inform them about your victory at the pond, or…]
[Er, give it a few minutes. See if I can bring our lord back to consciousness.]
[Fair enough.]
[What about, you Spring Brawler? Are Mistress Rianna and Mistress Jin Fang in any condition to move?]
[Funny you mention that…]
…
[Well…]
“Xiao Liu!”*2
“Huh? Girls?”
[Oh look, assistance.]
Just as Blazejudicator was about to be forced to give an explaination that there were technically unqualified for, even with scripting from Logos and Pathos, Jin Fang, Rianna and Spring Brawler and arrived just in the nick of time.
The two aforementioned young women proceeded to take over Blazejudicator’s role of making Zhen Liu was physically okay, while Spring Brawler himself was left standing guard.
Zhen Yan proceeded to give the proto-kaijin a look over, prompting the latter to respond.
[Is it safe to assume you know what the deal is with the ringmaster?]
“More or less, mostly less,” Zhen Yan responded. “Blaze was supposed to give me a rundown before y’all showed up.”
[And that’s my cue, bye.]
[Wait a minute, wha-coward!]
Now that the Kaijin Lord’s consort and a slightly more qualified proto-kaijin appeared, Blazejudicator took this opportunity to hop back into Zhen Liu’s soul.
Not just because he needed a place to escape, but because he had something important to take care of.
[Okay, let’s see what kind of damage was done…]
