Chapter 131: Don’t die on me!!
“You again?… Who is your Master, Child?” The Principal asked with a visible frown, her tone carrying a mix of authority and curiosity.
Kai was about to stand up and apologize for his servant’s misconduct, but before he could speak, Aqualina intervened.
“Kai, I will take care of it. I said I trained him, right? So, it’s my responsibility to handle this,” Aqualina whispered in Kai’s ear, her voice gentle yet firm.
Kai’s face suddenly turned red as he looked at Aqualina, he was embarrassed when her breath tickled his neck. Then he said, “B-But he is my slave, and it’s my responsibility—”
“Sshhhh,” Aqualina silenced him by placing a finger on his lips, her eyes reassuring. “What is yours is mine, and what is mine is yours… So don’t worry.”
Kai’s face turned even more red as he nodded silently, trusting Aqualina’s judgment, and allowed her to take charge of the situation.
Aqualina understood Aether’s intentions. She herself wanted to push Aether into this because, seeing Aria’s situation, helping her might earn Aether some favour. Additionally, Aqualina saw an opportunity to gain everyone’s attention, which would align with her own plans. ‘He is really up for the task… ah,’ she thought to herself.
“Forgive him for his rudeness, Principal,” Aqualina stood up gracefully from her seat and bowed slightly, a gesture of respect. “I am his Master.”
“Hmm… Aqualina…” Principal regarded Aqualina with a scrutinizing gaze. “This is not about rudeness, child. He clearly meant our Arcane God… that’s beyond mere rudeness.”
Aqualina remained composed, her expression unwavering as she replied, “Yes, Principal. I acknowledge that what he said was beyond rude and cannot be forgiven, especially for disrespecting the Arcane God. However, in this situation… He is correct”
Principal frowned, “What do you mean?”‘
“What I mean is that… look at them. Everyone knows that if they joined forces, they would definitely defeat the monster. Yet, they chose to act independently without considering what it means to be a chosen one…” Aquilina explained, her words carrying a hint of disappointment.
“Chosen ones are not just about themselves, are they, Principal?” Aqualina’s question was both rhetorical and pointed.
“… Well, I can’t say you’re wrong about that,” Principal admitted, nodding in agreement. “Still, it doesn’t justify your servant’s words against the Arcane, though.”
“Rather than words, I would be happy if Principal punished my servant as well,” Aqualina suggested, her tone diplomatic yet firm, indicating her willingness to accept responsibility.
Aqualina then turned her gaze towards Aether, a playful smile on her lips as she proposed,
“Due to the sullying of words about chosen ones… why don’t you accept the punishment?”
Aether understood the underlying message in her words and the opportunity she presented.
“I gladly accept any punishment for you, Princess,” Aether replied with a genuine smile, his demeanour respectful as he lowered his head in acknowledgement.
The principal, observing this unfold, couldn’t help but think, ‘Tsk, she’s just like her annoying mother.’ She then remarked, “I never punished a servant… more like any servant dares to say that.”
‘Snap’
With a snap of her fingers, Aether disappeared and reappeared… in mid-air.
“Fuck!!” Aether’s eyes widened as he realized he was falling from the sky, he clearly noticed before that others were teleported directly to the ground.
“YOU OLD HAG!!!” Aether shouted angrily as he plummeted.
“Crack, Crack”
The energy crackled around Principal’s foot as she glanced at Aqualina and remarked, “You really should train your servant; otherwise, who knows when he might disappear….. permanently”
Aqualina was left speechless, thinking, ‘That idiot!!’ Nonetheless, she was also curious to see how Aether would handle the situation and attract everyone’s attention.
“AAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!” Aether screamed, not out of fear….. but excitement. “YEAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH, that’s one of my bucket list!!!” He yelled joyfully, relishing the thrill of freefalling.
The rush of air against his face and the mix of fear and excitement sent shivers of thrill down his spine, an experience he had not encountered until now.
Watching this on the screen, the students couldn’t help but smile, as if they were enjoying the spectacle along with Aether.
As Aether looked down, he noticed three distinct impact points on the ground. The larger ones were Jack Sparrow and Nyx Shadowfall fighting around, while the two smaller ones must have been the other two latecomers, though he wasn’t sure who it might be unless he got near them.
“sssshhhhh”
Suddenly, Aether’s foot let out small flames before his shoes burst, sending him hurtling down faster than he expected.
“BOOMMM!!”
“OYYYYYYYYY!!!” Aether shouted…. It took a few moments for him to get adjusted to the increased speed, and during that time, he quickly thought, ‘Shit, I need words; otherwise, everyone will notice I am chantless… What word would be fitting? Yeah, let’s go with that.’
/Astro/
He channelled his energy swiftly into his hands, causing flames to appear and slow his descent as he hovered in the sky. Students watching were in awe at seeing a servant manipulate Arcane Energy with such precise accuracy.
‘He’s good at manipulating…’ They thought in unison.
With a smirk, Aether flew towards the spot where a group of bears tried to attack a white-haired woman.
“Huff, Huff,” Aria panted heavily as she faced the three angry bears, her body already drained from the prolonged fight. Despite having dispatched two of the bears with just her knife, she knew she was reaching her limit. She couldn’t help but wonder why the Principal hadn’t intervened yet; if this continued, she might truly be in danger of not just exhaustion, but serious injury or worse.
Blood trickled from her mouth, a testament to the intensity of the battle. Just as she prepared to confront the remaining monster,
‘sssssshhhh’
A distinct sound pierced the air, causing even the advancing bears to pause and look skyward. What they saw was a comet-like object hurtling towards them, its trajectory aimed directly at their location.
“BOOOOOMMM!!!”
As the deafening impact shook the ground, dust and debris filled the air. Amidst the chaos, Aether emerged, his landing less than graceful but effective nonetheless.
‘Cough, Cough’
“I think I need to work on my landing…” Aether said as he patted his dress. As the dust settled, Aether looked around and saw no one….
“Hmmm? Where are you, Ms. Aria?” Aether’s voice echoed, But as he moved closer, another bout of coughing caught his attention.
“Cough, Cough”
Peering down, Aether saw “M-Ms. Aria?” An elf lay unconscious below him and finally noticed he was standing on her stomach…. Glancing beside her, he noticed the bodies of the three bears, smashed by the impact of his landing.
Aether gazed intently at the blinking mission tab, feeling a sense of urgency building within him.
“M-Ms. Aria? Are you fine? Don’t die on me!” Aether’s voice quivered with concern as he knelt beside the unconscious elf, gently checking her pulse. Relief washed over him when he confirmed that she was merely unconscious, not fatally injured.
‘Sigh, I really thought I had killed her,’ Aether sighed, thinking he might have failed his own mission. His eyes then darted back to the mission tab, which was blinking even faster now.
‘Something is definitely going to happen!’
