Chapter 193: Capture the Flag: Part-6
“Thank goodness she didn’t get eliminated…” Jack sighed in relief when he saw that Aqualina was still in the game.
“Hello, Princess Aqualina… I hope you are doing fine,” Jack said with an amused smile.
Aqualina’s lips twitched as she replied, “Yeah, just like you, I am doing fine,” as she glanced at his battered body and his injured, remaining teammate.
Her eyes sparkled with a mix of sarcasm and determination.
Jack’s own smile faded, and his lips twitched in annoyance. “Then shall we see who is truly fine?”
“Yeah…” Aqualina’s eyes glittered with anticipation as two thin white swords materialized in her hands, ready for the impending fight.
Meanwhile, in the control room…
“Principal, the connection has been reestablished,” a professor announced, relief evident in their voice.
The Principal, her curiosity piqued, looked intently at the devastated area on the monitor where there was now nothing but a plain field.
“What happened here?” she asked, her voice tinged with concern and intrigue.
“Principal, it seems Aria Zephyr has retired from the contest, and Kaelen has been eliminated,” Delphine mumbled, her eyes fixed on the screen as she watched Aria walking toward the stadium, her expression unreadable.
Though Alaric frowned as he noticed something wrong with his wife.
“Hmm?” The Principal frowned, clicking her tongue in frustration, “Try to focus on the hooded one!” she ordered sharply. She would question Aria for details later, but for now, her priority was understanding the actions of Aether.
“What the….?”
“What happened?” The Principal’s frown deepened as she squinted at the monitor.
She saw a hooded figure running at an insane speed. ‘…Has he gotten even stronger?’ The Principal had a flabbergasted expression.
Her eyes landed on Delphine, expecting her to be proud and happy. However…
Delphine looked terrified! her fear palpable.
The Principal’s frown turned into a look of deep frown. She didn’t understand Delphine’s sudden fear. ‘Did she see something?’ she wondered, her mind racing with possibilities before refocusing her attention on Aether.
Just then, her eyes twitched, “Sigh, it looks like we have a visitor…” she mumbled, glancing back toward the entrance of the control room.
“Haha… There’s no need to be on guard. I’m just here to see what the others are doing,” a feminine voice echoed through the room, smooth and confident.
Meanwhile, elsewhere on the battlefield…
“FUCCCCCCCCKKKKKKKK!!!!” Aether screamed, his voice filled with a mix of fear and exhilaration as he ran faster than ever before.
Upon obtaining the Freedom Skill, he had used it without hesitation.
The next thing he knew, his slave mark pulsed before disappearing, and the feeling of being wrapped in chains suddenly cracked and vanished. It was a moment of profound liberation.
It was then that he felt truly free, as if he were soaring through the open air after years of imprisonment… It was just a figure of speech…. he wasn’t sure how that actually felt, but he imagined it might be similar, the feeling of boundless freedom.
The next thing he did was increase his level. The current status of his log was:

After increasing his level by three times, Aether felt his body overwhelmed by the sudden surge in power. He tried to increase his speed further, pushing his limits, but then,
!~Ding~!
[Warning: Any more increase in attributes will most likely break your body permanently and might not be healed… Do you wish to continue?]
“Hell no!!” Aether shouted.
‘Looks like I need to increase my attributes gradually rather than altogether,’ Aether mumbled to himself. He then looked at the mission tab, which was blinking a little faster, indicating something significant.
“Fuck!” Aether cursed before running faster. He had clearly ordered Snowflake to stay down until his plan succeeded. No matter what happens, she should stay put. He knew exactly what kind of plan he had in store for Aqualina.
A girl who was high and mighty… He needed to break that first!
Upon arriving at the scene, he noticed Jack Sparrow fighting against Aqualina Naiadia.
“Is he also trying to kill her?” Aether mumbled to himself as he watched the scene unfold.
“You certainly live up to your name, Aqualina,” Jack mumbled, glancing at his own body covered in numerous cuts and bruises.
“Huff-Huff… Thank you, then…” Aqualina replied, panting heavily. The relentless string of battles was clearly taking a toll on her body. She wiped the sweat from her brow, her determination undimmed despite her exhaustion.
Aqualina stared at Jack, who had yet to use his weapon. He still had the advantage, and what’s more, there was no information about his desired weapon. It was hard for Aqualina to prepare for any counterattack.
And then there was also his teammate who had disappeared during their fight, leaving Aqualina really on her wits.
‘Tsk, if I knew this would happen, I would have kept Aether with me,’ she thought, gritting her teeth. ‘At least I hope he manages to seduce her…’ Just as she was about to resume her attack,
“aaaaahhhhh!”
With a fierce battle cry, someone appeared behind her, poised to pierce her body with a lethal strike.
“Nope!” Aether suddenly materialized before Aqualina, delivering a powerful punch to the assailant’s gut and slamming him to the ground. Jack’s teammate finally disappeared in a burst of particles.
“!!!” Jack raised his eyebrows in shock.
[+500 Affection]
Aqualina sighed and mumbled in relief, “Took you long enough.”
“Sorry, I encountered something on the way,” Aether said in a coarse voice.
Hearing his tone, Aqualina smiled knowingly. She appreciated his effort to keep his identity hidden.
“What is this?” Jack frowned, his confusion evident as he stared at the hooded figure.
‘Is that Kaelen? Did he already finish his mission?’ he wondered, his thoughts racing. He looked up at the hologram in the sky, his eyes widening in shock when he saw Kaelen’s name struck out and labelled as eliminated. His surprise deepened when he saw that Aria had retired from the contest.
‘FUCK THAT BASTARD!!’ Jack screamed inwardly, ‘I knew this would happen. That fucker only knows how to talk!’ He gritted his teeth in frustration, glancing back and forth between Aqualina and the hooded figure. He wasn’t sure who it was, but there was no way he would let his chance to eliminate the Arcane Queen slip away.
He understood that his teammate had done what was needed, so there was no need to prolong the fight any longer.
“I don’t know who you are, but two against one… I am out!” Jack Sparrow said with a defeated smile before turning on his heel to run away.
“H-Huh! Wait!!” Aether was shocked to see Jack running away. He was about to follow him and pull him into his plan, but Aqualina stepped in and stopped him, saying, “Let him go… I need to rest and recover my energy!”
‘No!! My bait!! Shit! What should I do now…?’ Aether mumbled as he looked at his mission tab, which was blinking even faster. ‘So he wasn’t the one then?’ he wondered.
He now pondered who was truly planning to kill Aqualina!
Meanwhile,
Jack, who was fleeing the scene, crushed a golden crystal in his hand.
The crystal’s power instantly blocked the live footage, cutting off any surveillance. He then mumbled, “Arcane,” as his chest glowed, and a rainbow-coloured card appeared in his hand. With a swift motion, he threw the card in the direction of Aether and Aqualina.
The card instantly transformed into a humanoid figure, which declared, “Heheh… it’s my time to shine, Master.”
Suddenly,
Aether and Aqualina were enveloped in a black dome!
