Chapter 351: Finally Escaping from Death!!
BOOMM!!
“Move!!”
“Professor Kin, support me!!”
Chucckk
“I’m coming!! Aarrrhhh!!”
Chcckkk
“Bastards!!!”
The professors fought valiantly, doing everything in their power to fend off the relentless waves of minions.
Meanwhile, Alaric stood, locked in a deadly standoff with the grotesque monstrosity before him…. the Mechaflesh Arachnid. It stood tall, its large red eyes fixated on Alaric as saliva dripped from its gaping maw.
“It’s been a while, hasn’t it, Alaric?” the monster spoke, its voice dripping with twisted amusement.
“Kennedy…” Alaric growled, his teeth grinding together in pure, unadulterated rage.
The nearby professors flinched at the name, their faces drained of colour as they whispered in horror, “That… that is Kennedy?”
“Hehe…” The monster, smirked, spreading its numerous limbs wide, “How is it, Alaric? My creation, my lifelong masterpiece… HOW IS IT?!!!” Kennedy’s voice crescendoed into a maniacal shout.
Alaric stared at the abomination before him, his expression hardening into one of pure disgust. He uttered a single word, his voice low and filled with venom, “Disgusting.”
Before Alaric could react, Kennedy lunged, its limbs crashing down where Alaric had stood. But Alaric was faster, moving with the speed and grace of an Arcane King, easily evading the attack.
“Hmm?” Kennedy frowned, ‘Looks like he hasn’t lost his touch,’ Kennedy mused before charging again, this time with lethal intent.
Alaric met Monster’s attack head-on, his sword slicing through the air, aiming for the soft flesh that connected the metal pieces of Monster’s body.
He was trying to sever the bonds between flesh and metallic parts, to break this twisted amalgamation apart…. Yet, just as his sword embedded itself into the grotesque flesh, Monster seized the opportunity.
BOOM!
The Monster’s massive limb slammed Alaric to the ground with bone-crushing force.
“Arrhh!” Alaric coughed up blood, glaring at the monster with a mix of fury and revulsion.
His eyes flickered, he almost subconsciously forcibly tried to pull the Arcen energy… which caused small cracks around the dome but then—
“Are you sure?” The Monster’s voice interrupted, dripping with dark amusement as it pointed toward the students still trapped inside the dome.
The Monster knew the dome could not hold Alaric’s powers, just snapping his fingers would literally shatter the dome… that much was Experienced Arcane King’s power that’s the reason he used students’ lives…. if Alaric tried to forcibly pull the energy, the dome would shatter, and with it, the lives of countless students would be lost.
Alaric gritted his teeth, to be honest…. He could end this monster with a single snap of his fingers, but The only thing holding him back was… the Principal.!
Of course…. He didn’t even care for the students’ lives… It’s just that his pride and the fear of disappointing the Principal kept him in check.
The Monster’s grin widened, its victory seeming all but assured. Just as it prepared to finish Alaric off, its grotesque mouth widened to bite off his head—
SSSHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
A streak of red flame shot toward Kennedy, forcing the monster to leap back, narrowly avoiding the searing heat as it crashed into the building behind it.
BOOOMM!!
Alaric struggled to his feet, coughing as he saw Leon standing there, fire flickering in his mouth, “What are you doing here?” Alaric shouted, his voice laced with annoyance. He didn’t need help…. he could handle this on his own!
But then—
“Take that!!” Thalia’s voice rang out as she smashed through the minions, aiding the professors in their fight.
“W-What?” Alaric’s frustration mounted as he noticed not just Leon and Thalia, but every Elite class student and a few seniors joining the fray, attacking the monsters with everything they had.
“We came here to aid you, Vice-Principal!” Kai announced, his voice filled with pride.
“Aid me? Are you kidding me?” Alaric was beyond annoyed. All he wanted was for them to escape the dome so he could finish this piece of shit alone.
But now…
Aqualina stepped forward, holding a blue sword in her hand, her expression serious, “Don’t worry, Vice-Principal. The situation is under control. All Victor and Aether need is time. The first-year students are already evacuating the dome.”
Alaric’s expression shifted from surprise to relief. “You found a way out?”
“Yes,” Aqualina confirmed, “Aether discovered that by incorporating two intersections of the dome with different energy signatures and Arcane energy simultaneously, we can diffuse the spiders. But there’s a small problem.”
“Problem?”
“They need to move at a faster rate and cut down the spiders. Victor is sending out people one by one, while Professor Delphine is cutting down the spiders as they exit. But with thousands of students to evacuate, it will take some time. We decided to stay and help you hold off the monsters until then,” Aqualina explained, not sure she herself got how that worked but since Aether said she believed and shrugged.
But to be honest she was surprised to know Aether was very good with technology!
‘I will ask him later’ She thought with slight pouting as she felt Aether hiding this information!!
“I see…” Alaric nodded, not fully understanding the technical details, he shrugged as long as they escaped he was fine!
His gaze then shifted to Aqualina’s weapon, a flicker of doubt crossing his face, “How did you summon your weapon?”
Without Arcane energy, none of them should have been able to manifest their weapons, and yet…
Aqualina smirked, a glint of pride in her eyes, “I learned my lesson, Vice-Principal,” she said, looking at her weapon, “Though it’s just a weapon with no powers in it.”
Alaric raised his eyebrows, genuinely impressed. Even he couldn’t summon his weapon under these conditions, yet Aqualina had managed it. She was full of surprises.
‘Indeed Marisandra’s daughter… both of them filled with surprises’ he thought,
Just then,
SLAM!
Cough, Cough!
Thalia hit the ground hard, the impact jarring her body. She coughed up blood but quickly pushed herself up, wiping her mouth with the back of her hand.
Despite the pain, she managed a smirk, “It’s really something else…” she muttered, her eyes fixed on the monstrous Mechaflesh Arachnid that continued to battle the others with relentless ferocity.
Meanwhile, the evacuation efforts continued at a….. frantic pace?
“I-I’m a girl, so please be gentl—KKKYYYYYYYYYYAAAAAAAAaaa….”
The girl’s scream echoed around the stadium as Victor roughly picked her neck like a duck that was about to cut and throw her through the opening.
Delphine, poised and ready, swiftly sliced through a small spider with her ice blades with almost precision and cut the spider on her neck and…
Liora caught the girl in her arms, “Good girl,” she mumbled, her face drenched from the pouring rain.
“T-Thank you,” the girl whimpered, her eyes welling up with tears of relief. She leaned in to hug Liora, desperate for comfort…. but Liora who could care less about this emotional drama, so she let her down!
“Ouch!” The girl groaned as she landed awkwardly on the wet ground, her butt splashing into a puddle. Maelona, noticing the girl’s distress, shot a glare at Liora before offering a towel and hugging the trembling girl, who was still shaken from the ordeal.
The medical team arrived swiftly, tending to the wounded girl as they worked efficiently amidst the rain.
Soldiers stood stoically around the academy, their faces grim as they ensured that no one unauthorized could approach and due to the night time not many people was aware of the situation.
Back inside the dome, the students watched with a mix of relief and dread as they were hurled out one by one.
Victor’s method of evacuation…. tossing them like sacks of potatoes…. filled them with a new kind of terror.
“Am I operating correctly, Aether?” Helena’s voice was laced with hesitation as she held on to the controllers of the Arcane-Less Dome Artifact.
Aether, still maintaining his drunken (Acting), glanced at her with dizzy eyes and nodded lazily, “Yes, you’re doing fine~” he slurred, his head resting comfortably in her lap.
Helena blushed at the sight of Aether lying so casually on her, her heart fluttering despite the dire circumstances. She focused on the task at hand, her fingers trembling slightly as she manipulated the controls with care.
“You know you could do better, right?” Finnian’s voice cut through the air, tinged with irritation. He was lying on the ground, his body too injured to move, but his anger simmered as he watched Aether lounge on Helena’s lap.
Aether waved his hand dismissively, “I’m drunk~” he replied, his tone utterly nonchalant.
Finnian’s lips twitched in disbelief. This was the first time he’d ever seen someone openly admit to being drunk… and be proud of it!
“I’m doing fine, Fin!” Helena snapped, her frown deepening as she glared at him, “I’m not a child!”
Finnian bit back a retort, deciding not to worsen the already tense situation. He didn’t want to cause any more internal conflict.
BOOOMMMMM!!
The thunderous explosion drew Aether’s attention. He squinted, assessing the situation, before giving Victor a subtle nod.
Victor, catching the signal, turned to the remaining students, “I’m speeding up the process! Get in line—two rows—FASTER!”
The urgency in his voice spurred everyone into action. They quickly formed two rows, their faces a mixture of fear and determination.
Victor then addressed Helena. “Just do it faster.”
Helena nodded, her fingers trembling slightly but her resolve unwavering. She knew what was at stake and wasn’t about to let anyone down.
“NOW!!”
