Chapter 421: F###!! I NEED TO RUN!!
Celestia’s heart pounded in her chest as she tore through the Dragon Army, her sword a blur of light and power.
She stood like an immovable force, protecting Helena and Aqualina behind her…..
And yet, her lips trembled as her gaze landed on Selene, Lia, and Aria…. Snowflake their broken bodies lying lifeless in the blood-soaked battlefield.
She wasn’t one to feel emotions deeply, but the sight of Aether…. his body cracked and disintegrating, his mind clearly shattered—made something inside her churn.
He was breaking, both physically and mentally.
BAM!
Aether’s fist slammed into the Dragon Emperor’s face, a raw, furious power surging from him.
“Increase Level”
BAM!
“Increase Level”
BAM!!
“Increase Level”
BAM!!!
The sound echoed across the battlefield. Each punch felt like an explosion, but Aether wasn’t using magic, no spells or supernatural force.
He was simply punching the Dragon Emperor with his bare fists, relentlessly, as if he had nothing to lose!!!
The Dragon Emperor, powerful and mighty, found himself unable to react.
Something was wrong!!
His level was nearly at the peak—Level 95—yet this boy, this human, was beating him down as though he were a fragile doll.
‘W-What the—?’ The Dragon Emperor’s mind raced, trying to understand. His body was crumbling under the assault.
His face…. was bleeding under Aether’s relentless punches. The Emperor, usually untouchable, was being torn apart, and he couldn’t stop it.
‘What’s wrong with me?’ Dragon Emperor screamed inwardly, he tried to lift his hand which would be enough to break the human and yet something pressuring him… as if something watching his move… making it hard to even lift his hand!!
One Wrong move… he would die pathetically!!
‘W-What is that thing?’ He wondered as he remembered clearly saw something.
Meanwhile, inside Aether’s fractured mind, a single question echoed over and over…
Aether’s mind had only one thought, ‘Why?’
Why?
Why did they…. die?
Why?
His mind couldn’t process the horror before his eyes.
His Lovers, his friends, had been killed right in front of him, and he hadn’t been able to stop it.
He hadn’t even been able to think.
It had happened so quickly. So naturally. Almost like it was supposed to happen.
Why?
Was it because he had failed his mission?
What’s wrong?
Was it because he had killed Raven with his own hands?
Was it because of the visions of the past and future that haunted him?
Or was it because he had believed he could change the world, that he was the centre of it all?
Overconfidence?
Had his confidence been his downfall?
No matter the reason… in the end, HE failed!!
He failed because he had been stuck in the past.
He failed because he hadn’t analyzed the situation, hadn’t thought clearly… because his mind was occupied with things he had seen.
He’d just gone with the flow, hoping to avoid death, but death had come for him anyway.
He failed because he believed, foolishly, that everything would be fine.
He failed because he feared the truth…. that death was inevitable!
He failed because he was scared!
In the end…. He failed!!!!
BAM!
Splurt!
BAM!
Splurt!
Blood sprayed from the Dragon Emperor’s face as Aether’s knuckles connected again and again. Each punch made the power inside him grow stronger, as though something dark and unstoppable was awakening within him.
The Dragon Emperor’s mind grew numb from the onslaught, unable to process the pain or the sheer force of the blows…. His hands were tied by something or…. someone.
His once-imposing body was reduced to a bloodied mess under Aether’s relentless fists.
“H-HELP-BAM-Arrhh ME!!” the Dragon Emperor screamed, panic setting in as he tried to block the attacks. His voice cracked, desperation creeping into his tone, “YOU BASTARDS, HELP ME!!” His roar echoed across the battlefield, but his hands—once powerful weapons—disappeared before his eyes, consumed by the black sphere Aether had summoned.
The Dragon Army, who had been focused on fighting the others, turned as one toward Aether, horror and confusion spreading through their ranks.
“ATTACK HIM!” one soldier cried, “KILL HIM!!!” as one the dragons pushed off Aether!
The Dragon Emperor’s desperate shout rang out as his hands began to regenerate, “KILL HIM NOW!”
“HAIL THE DRAGON EMPEROR!!” the soldiers roared in unison as they launched themselves at Aether.
Aether, his body drenched in blood, stared blankly at the ground.
His chest wound bled profusely, a hole large enough to kill anyone else….. Yet he was still standing.
Miracously!!
He should have died…. he knew that much—but something kept him alive….. No, awakened.
There was no pain…. Only pure, undiluted rage!!
Behind him, thin red swords appeared…. tens, hundreds, thousands, and then… millions!!!!
The swords hung in the air like a storm cloud, shimmering with deadly intent. The soldiers hesitated, fear creeping into their hearts.
Before they could react, the swords moved like a tidal wave, crashing down on them with the force of an unstoppable storm.
The blades cut through everything in their path. Screams filled the air as the soldiers were reduced to nothing but blood and severed limbs, a crimson tsunami flooding the battlefield.
“NOOOO!”
“ArrrrHHHHHH!!”
“I am…..”
They screamed in pain as the slowly cut down Aether’s weapon.
And Aether—riding that river of blood—advanced.
His eyes, hollow and unblinking, locked onto the Dragon Emperor.
“No… NOOO!!” the Dragon Emperor screamed, backing away as the swords cut down his soldiers like they were nothing.
For the first time in his life, the Dragon Emperor felt sweat forming on his forehead. His instincts, ancient and powerful, were screaming at him, warning him of the shadowy figure clinging to Aether.
The creature seemed to be grinning, almost delighted by the chaos!
A shiver ran down the Dragon Emperor’s spine, ‘I need to run’ he thought, but his pride wouldn’t allow him to show fear.
Forcing a smirk, he said haughtily, “Y-You think you’re some kind of big shot, huh? Don’t think you won this!! Without that mysterious creature, you are nothing!!” He opened his mouth, dark blue electric flames shooting toward Aether with all the energy he could muster.
Aether was engulfed in the crackling flames, completely obscured.
The Dragon Emperor smirked, turning to flee… Yes, he used that just for the diversion nothing more!
But just as he was about to escape—
SHHNG!
A purple flame struck his chest, burning a deep hole into his shoulder. The Dragon Emperor flinched, his smirk vanishing as he glanced down.
Blood poured from the wound, and disbelief painted his face.
“H-How?” he whispered, his voice trembling. He turned, only to see Aether whose body was on the verge of cracking down… standing right in front of him, gripping his horns tightly with two hands.
The Dragon Emperor’s eyes widened in terror.
“AARRRRRRHHHHHHHHH!” His scream tore through the battlefield as Aether began twisting his horns with bare hands, the sound of cracking bone reverberating through the air.
The Emperor thrashed in agony, trying desperately to fight back. His hands that had been held down by mysterious force, he forced himself and pierced Aether’s chest…. but Aether didn’t even flinch.
It was as if nothing mattered anymore, his sole focus was on breaking the Emperor.
Celestia cried out loud but Aether’s mind was already far!!
The horns began to glow, blue light emanating from them, searing Aether’s hands with scorching heat, his flesh burned alive as his heat spread throughout his body…. But Aether remained unfazed.
Meanwhile, the Dragon Emperor’s face twisted in agony, his cries filling the air as he tried to wrench his hand free from Aether’s body.
“What the hell are you?!” he shouted, his voice filled with desperation. His fingers searched for Aether’s heart…. but there was none!!!
This was the second time he’d pierced Aether, and still, no heart!
Aether’s lips curled into a dark smirk, “A monster.”
Crack, Crack!
The Dragon Emperor’s eyes went wide as his horns splintered under Aether’s grip…. ‘No, way!’ He screamed inwardly.
A wave of light erupted from the shattered horns, scorching every inch of Aether’s body….. The battlefield was bathed in that searing light!!
SSSSSHHHHHNNNNNNGGGGGG!!!!!
As the light faded, the Dragon Army looked on in horror.
Aether’s charred body stood amidst the smoke and ash.
His skin was blackened…. but a thick black mist began to swirl around him, healing his wounds.
He stood tall, holding the Dragon Emperor’s blue, glowing horns in his hands. The Emperor reduced to a sobbing, broken creature, clutched his bleeding forehead.
For a moment, the battlefield fell silent. Then:
“KILL HIM!” a Dragon soldier screamed, his voice filled with blind fury, “KILLLLLLL HIMMMMMMMMM!!!”
The army surged forward, their rage palpable. Their beloved Emperor, the symbol of their strength, had been humiliated. Letting a mere human lay hands on him was a disgrace that cut deep into their pride.
Aether glanced at the approaching army with cold, lifeless eyes. He snapped his fingers. Instantly, millions of red swords materialized above them. The soldiers didn’t flinch. This time, they didn’t care about death. Their only goal was to tear Aether apart, to make him suffer.
Drip….
Drip…..
The swords rained down, mercilessly piercing the ranks of the Dragon Army. Blood soaked the battlefield like a river, but Aether wasn’t done.
His hand wrapped around the Dragon Emperor’s throat. In a last-ditch effort, the Emperor grabbed Aether’s wrist, trying to break it with sheer force, but Aether’s body healed itself as fast as it was damaged.
“H-How are you still alive?” the Dragon Emperor gasped, his voice trembling with fear. He stared at the two gaping holes in Aether’s chest, unable to comprehend how he was still standing, let alone dominating the battlefield… His teary eyes darted to the right side only see the grinning black figure grinning even more… A shiver runs down his spine!!!
‘Fuck, Fuck, Fuck, Fuck, FUCK!! I NEED TO RUN!!’ He screamed inwardly.
Aether’s response was silent…. He shoved the glowing blue horns into the Dragon Emperor’s chest, stabbing him again and again.
As his black eyes watched his suffering… Aether’s lips curled up subconsciously as the blood splattered around all over his face… just like how his beloved’s blood!!
Blood splattered across the horns, staining their brilliance with the Emperor’s life force.
