“Hey, I’m talking properly, too! If you are worried that there isn’t enough time or you don’t want the commitments that come along with it, you can do it in a dream. You will be able to make as many babies as you want right away as long as you create the right environment,” Little Chick replied.
The God Monarchs had the ability to create transient dreams through formations.
That kind of formation would place an individual within a dreamscape where time was accelerated. It would only take a few hours for one to live an entire lifetime within the dream.
Hearing this, Zhang Xuan fell into deep thought.
To be frank, it was a plausible solution. It was a dream anyway, so it should not count as anything.
But he was only twenty years old. If he lived a lifetime in a dream at such an age, he would be a completely different person by the time he returned. He would have lost his youthful spirit and his hot-bloodedness.
“Thread in the hand of a compassionate mother, clothes on a wanderlust son.
Before his departure she sewed closely, in her mind worrying about his late return.
How could the inch-high grass ever repay the nourishing sunshine of spring?”
This is a poem in the Tang Dynasty by a person named Meng Jiao. It depicts the feelings of a mother as her son leaves home in seek of a better future, and the son lamenting that he would never be able to repay what his mother has done for him.
I really like this poem because of how vivid the imagery is and the feelings it conveys. The language used is much more refined and beautiful in the Chinese version, but it’s hard to bring out the same in English.

“The wind batters unceasingly on the unwilling tree, a son seeks to be filial but time slips past his grasp…”
This saying refers to how it is usually too late by the time a son wishes to be good to his parents. The wind refers to the flow of time that marches on relentlessly no matter how much a person wants it to stop.
It’s common in life where we might tell ourselves that we will be good to our loved ones after we become accomplished and earn enough money etc., but by the time we are ready and prepared, the time of our loved ones might already be limited, or they might not even be around anymore.
So, it’s a poem filled with a lot of regrets.
