Chapter 136: [A Play of Words!]
“State your purpose, human.”
Raising both my hands in the air, I then answered with a smile,” I just came here to pass on a message from a certain witch. And also to discuss something with your leader. If that is possible, of course.”
The scythe moved a little closer to my neck, cutting slightly and making me bleed a little.
[-1 HP]
“May I know that message?” She spoke as her voice grew a bit more serious than before.
“It is about the information related to the Border Town and the Dark Mages. The witch said that the message can only be said to a certain witch named Rosalyn. The message is of grave importance.”
I spoke my mind as I waited for her reaction. The blade didn’t move an inch, and neither there were any answers from her. Perhaps she was still thinking about my words.
“Tia. Put down the weapon. It doesn’t seem like he is lying or fooling around,” another voice came as a woman dressed in black walked towards me from behind the house in front of me.
“But-” Tia, the witch who held a scythe to my neck, tried to retort, but the girl in black stopped her,
“It’s all right. He doesn’t seem strong enough to cause trouble for the two of us, let alone Master Rosalyn.”
And once again, my suppressed mana fooled people to lower their guard down.

Not a bad skill to have, though.
“So, human. What is your name? And may I also know the name of the witch that sent you here?” asked the black-haired witch as she looked at me.
Though I simply smiled as I pointed at the blade of the scythe placed over my neck.
Understanding what I meant, she then looked at Tia.
“Tch!” Grunted Tia, before she removed the Scythe and then moved around me, reaching in front, right beside the black-haired witch.
Tia had white hair that reached to her shoulders similar to the black-haired one, while they both wore the same white and black clothes, respectively. The short revealing dresses that failed to cover most of their body parts.
“So miss…” I spoke as I looked at that black-haired witch, and she sighed as she answered,” Mia.”
“Miss Mia. My name is Wesker, a local merchant in Border Town, with a little connection to the underground. As for the witch that I came across, and the reason I am here talking with you, is because of a black-haired witch named Raven,” I spoke in words, as I explained about my purpose here.
“Raven?” Tia was confused, but Mia’s eyes widened for a brief moment before turning serious again.
“She was more of an assassin, like a witch, than a normal witch. Using daggers and stuff, you know?” I explained a little more, making Tia even more confused as she turned to Mia.
Mia, however, seemed to understand everything and now was in a deep thought.
“Mia?” Tia asked with concern.
“Tia. Go and call master Rosalyn.” Mia looked at Tia with a serious expression, making Tia gulp a little.
Tia seemed to be wanting to know what was going on, but she simply nodded and then moved behind me before jumping into the well behind me.
“How is she? Is she fine?” Mia asked as her serious expression turned rather worried. She seemed to be really concerned about Raven.
“She… is holding out, to be honest,” I answered as I recalled my time from the underground market.
Raven is a half witch right now. Though it would be better to not reveal that immediately. Let’s see how far we can take this.
“Is that so? She must be really close to you, if she were to send you here to send the message instead of coming herself,” Mia looked at me, as if she were testing me while also trying to figure out… me.
‘I should be careful with my words,’ I felt that every word that I will speak can lead to an unwanted ending.
“I wouldn’t call it close, but… we had a deal. And a bunch of other stuff going on. If anything, it is more of an act of desperation from her side.” I chose my words carefully as I looked at her with a sad look.
“Is that so?” Mia was still analyzing me as her eyes were concentrated on me.
“You are lucky,” she added before smiling at me as she lowered her guard down. Almost makes me wonder what was going on in her mind.
“Are you Wesker?” And then the same red-haired step on me mommy, Rosalyn, appeared behind me with Tia. This time, it was just her and Tia, and not a bunch of witches coming to welcome me.
‘That is the difference between Adam and Wesker, I suppose,’ I thought as I looked at them.
“I am. Are you Miss Rosalyn?” I asked as I turned at her, and then bowed to her properly. She was a bit surprised by my act, before she nodded and asked,
“Can you tell me what message Raven passed for me?”
I looked at her for a moment, before wondering how I should play this. The next words would change the trajectory of the future, so I must be really careful with everything.
“Do not approach the Border Town. Not even the Nahida Forest. This entire place is about to become a sacrifice for the devils.” I chose my words carefully as I looked at them for a moment.
Rosalyn was silent as she narrowed her eyes at me before I began pondering a little as I then tried something.
“I rarely do this for free… but wanna know what is going on in the border town? I have reliable information. Though I have a condition of my own.”
