[Vladmir’s POV Continued!]
.
How long have I been searching for her? How much time has passed? I do not know.
And was it a coincidence that I ended up seeing her here? Or was it fate? I do not know.
But one thing that I do know for sure is…
‘I am gonna roast that bitch alive!’
Fury entered my eyes as I took a deeper look at her. My eyes didn’t leave the sight of that black-haired bitch even once. I do not know what she was doing here, and I don’t understand why she would appear here now of all time. But it doesn’t matter… All that matters is that I get to kill her today… or die trying to kill her.
-Step!
-Step!
-Step!
With heavy steps, I walked towards her. The crowd in between was getting denser, but I couldn’t lose my focus. With my steps hastening, I observed her talking with someone, a certain guy wearing a black cloak and a white mask, just like Adrian had described.
‘Huh?’
The moment I looked at that guy, he turned towards me. Even though there were no holes in the mask for eyes, I could see that he was looking at me. And smiling at me through the mask.
My hurried steps halted, and my breath became heavy. My heartbeat, which was ringing like an alarm, was now loud enough to be heard by those around me.
‘I am going to die.’ was the only thought that filled my mind. Looking at that person, all I could see was my death. A slow and painful death.
-Thud!
And my legs gave out as I fell down, attracting the rest of the crowd around me. They gave me a peculiar look before a mocking smile appeared on their faces. And when the amusement died in their eyes, they moved on to their own work.
Though I could not be bothered to care about them, as my mind was occupied with what just happened. My heartbeat, which was running like a coal train, was now calming down under the effect of my skills. And the fear that engulfed my entire being was now slowly subsiding as I tried standing on my two feet.
Wiping the sweat from my forehead, I stood on my shaking legs, as I glared at the area where the duo was. Something like this wasn’t enough to break my resolve.
“??!!”
But they weren’t there. Panicking much more than when I found them, I now felt a bit horrified that I lost them.
“No!” I spoke out a little louder than before as I began running towards the place where they were standing. Moving through the crowd, I tried looking around as well, hoping to find either of the two that I just saw.
‘They must be somewhere here! I can’t lose them! Not now! Not after I finally found her!’
My thoughts in a frenzy, I reached the area where she was standing. Frantically turning around, I tried looking in all the directions where they could be. I even used my heightened vampiric senses trying to find them, but they weren’t there.
As if they never existed in the first place.
A sudden hopelessness settled in my heart, as I wondered if what I was doing was futile? Recalling what had just happened before and how I lost to them just by looking at them, I wondered if everything I had done until now was meaningless.
“Is my life really-”
“Hey Vlad. Didn’t I tell you to find information about the angel?” And before I could even complete the sentence, a voice interrupted me from behind. A humble voice, like that of a kind guy.
Turning around, I saw Josh, or Adam, who was wearing the avatar of Josh. He looked at me with slight amusement, his eyes wondering why I was in the state I was.
“Uh… that. Actually…” I then tried to formulate my thoughts, wondering what should relay first. About the angel or about Luciana? Given the-
“Calm down kid,” he put his hand on my head as a strange energy filled in my mind. My eyes opened up in shock as I looked at him in disbelief.
‘Death Energy? How…?!!!’
I was shocked as I saw him using a healing spell comprising death energy. Forget about the contradicting nature. How could anyone who can use holy energy be capable of using death energy as well?!!
“Now that you are better, tell me. What happened? Did you find something interesting?” He asked, but my mind was still on what had just happened. Just.. What is he?
“Are you really a Heaven’s Guardian?” I asked, as I now doubted that. Given what he just did.
He looked at me and thought for a moment before speaking,” all I can answer is that I am the solution to your answer. If you want to meet and talk with Luciana Wiregia, I could be your most probable bet.”
‘I don’t trust him,’ was the first thought that crossed my mind.
‘But I don’t have a choice but to trust him,’ was the second one.
I sighed in the end as I put my faith in this strange guy who can use both Holy and Death Energy with no complications. I felt like my entire world was turning upside down.
“It’s a big world, huh?” I laughed. A little at my misery, a little at the absurdity of the situation that was around me. Even so, I was calmer than a few minutes ago. Looking at the guy who promised to help me out, I once again created a false hope in my mind that everything will work out. Just like I have always done.
“It sure is,” he answered me as he smiled and then looked around as well. He tried to find something amidst the crowd but then sighed before looking at me,” so. What happened?”
And looking at him, I then proceeded to tell him what I just witnessed earlier,
“I think I saw Luciana Wiregia a few moments ago.”
