Chapter 51 [Meeting the Goddesses]
51 [Meeting the Goddesses]
“Come,” Alepsia spoke as she began walking inside.
Walking behind her through a narrow path, we soon reached the other side of the path. There was another door, carved out of simple wood, as it stood there, making me wonder if there was another spell on that door.
Though to my surprise, it turned out to be an ordinary door, which Alepsia opened up with little force.
-Creak!
With a creaking sound, the door opened up, showing the other side.
A bright, blinding light emerged from the other side, making it difficult for me to see through. Though my eyes adjusted to the light promptly, making me see the golden area on the other side. Slowly walking into the room, I saw a big hall with another person standing there.
“Hey Alepsia. You are late-” a girl more beautiful than anyone I have seen in my entire life, appeared in front of me. Her charm was blinding to me, enough to make me fall in love with her a dozen times over… and even that won’t be enough.
Though her appearance changed in an instant, bringing me back to my senses as I looked at her blankly. She was a goddess. A literal goddess…
“The Goddess of War, Valencia,” I mumbled as I looked at her for a couple of seconds. She was surprised to hear that from my mouth as she spoke,” you recognize me?”
I looked at Alepsia before turning to the third girl in the room. The one who was looking at me with the most curiosity. Her eyes seemed naive compared to what I had seen before. And unlike before, the black dress seemed better with her blonde hair and fair skin.
Noticing me looking at her, she turned her face to the side in embarrassment. I could see her cheeks turning red as she avoided eye contact with me, while still trying to take a peek little by little.
“It would be odd if I didn’t,” I answered her in a half bland tone, before moving towards the girl in black, Ameliana, the one I saved during the Mirag City incident. As I walked towards Ameliana, I added,” Your contribution to the previous war was enough to make you famous in all realms.”
I didn’t turn around, so I did not know what kind of expression she was making, but judging from the silence, she must be really curious about my identity as well.
“Hey,” I smiled, turning my expression from serious to a friendly one,” how are you?” I asked as I looked at her.
She slowly turned to me as she spoke in a low voice,” I… am fine.”
“You must have a lot of questions, right?” I spoke, making a half apologetic tone as she nodded at that. I gave a small smile as I spoke,” I can’t give an immediate answer to all the questions. But I am not exactly your lover… but more like a savior. You trusted me and helped me a lot, so…”
None of the words I spoke were a lie, so Ameliana won’t be able to declare it as a lie using her skills. Though even if she does that, as long as I get what I want from here, it doesn’t even matter if she knows about it.
She looked at me as her eyes opened up wide. She seemed to be understanding something.
‘Should I add another thing to it?’ I pondered before I spoke,
“You must get strong. I should too. This world is going to face a major disaster soon and we would be needed… you play a crucial role in it… I want you to be strong enough to not only protect yourself but everyone around you.”
Even this wasn’t a lie. I mean, this stupid fucking world is going to face more than two dozen world destroying catastrophes with the last one actually destroying it. So, I guess there was that. Plus, I really needed her to be strong. I would be needing more allies that I can manipul- I mean have around.
She looked at me with her expression turning really surprised. Not only her, I peeked to see Alepsia and Valencia looking at me with a rather peculiar look.
“Though that is a different thing… Ameliana… I need something from you today… Could you help with something?” I spoke with a slight pleading face, making her look at me with a determined face.
“I will!” she spoke hurriedly, like a child that was ready to die for her love.
“Me too!!” and another child-like voice escaped from behind, as I saw the serious Alepsia and Valencia standing there.
“??” I looked at them for a moment before Alepsia coughed and added,” I mean… If it is for the sake of the world… I would like to help as well.”
“I wish I could help, but my influence is limited in this kingdom, so I can’t be of much help. Though… are you sure that the world is going to have a catastrophe? And what kind of?” Valencia chimed in as she looked at me.
Compared to what I had thought of her before, she wasn’t against me at all. She seemed quite friendly as well. Though I can’t waste much time here on this…
“I apologize… I don’t think I can tell. But I will give you a small heads up… only Water and Life Nation would be able to survive against that catastrophe if nothing is done,” I spoke before turning to Ameliana,
“Ameliana… Can you teach me dark magic? I don’t think with the knowledge I have, it would be enough to change our fate.”
She looked at me with an even more surprise before turning to Alepsia and Valencia, who were looking at me with vigilance now. Of course, dark magic is quite a taboo subject, so I understand their sentiment.
Though…
“I will need…” I then raised one of my hands as I used all the elements at once. While I can’t create an attack out of the other elements, I could light up a flame of different elements on each of my fingers.
I also created two revolving flames around the fingers.
“…everything I could to save the world. Please understand,” I completed my sentence as I looked back at those two Goddesses.
