Chapter 69: [Primordials!]
“Partially correct. To be accurate, I am the Primordial Goddess of Night. One of the Original 10 Primordials,” she spoke as she unveiled herself, revealing her enchanting face to me.
Her eyes, black, seemed to contain the entire universe in them. Seriously, it was having a strong effect on m mind.
-Click!
Though I hear a clicking sound, finding her standing right in front of me as she clicked her fingers, waking me up from the dazed moment.
“Firstly, I apologize for meeting you so late and also like this. I was supposed to meet you in Mirag Town right after you saved it, but you moved from there right after you saved it, so I had to change my plans,” she started speaking in a friendly manner.
I wanted to ask a dozen questions already, but for now I decided to be quiet and listen to her.
“It was hard to ask Equi for a favor with her artifact, but she agreed. And then bending fate to get you involved wasn’t easy either,” she complained like a child as she looked at me, but the information was a bit too much.
“Wait! Wait! Wait! What do you mean by changing fate?” I asked, a bit dumbfounded as I looked at her, making her pause as she looked at me.
“Well. Did you really think that Evelyn happened to see you by chance? And the fact that Alepsia gave you that ring? And the fact that you found that hidden space? Or that you were able to complete it to this level? Too many coincidences, don’t you think?”
I… didn’t have any words to refute her. She was right. Even if I take my ability to [Restart], the presence of this space and the involvement of Evelyn were quite the coincidence, and then my connection to it.
“Don’t think much about what has already happened… for now, I am here to explain the things that I should have explained to you at Mirage Town,” she changed the topic as she began explaining things to me.
“I should first tell you a couple of pieces of informations to give you a general idea.
Listen, all Gods reproduce and give birth to More gods. When a God copulates with a mortal, a Demigod is born. The power gets divided at every level, and so is the lifespan.
But let’s talk about the opposite. If you go to the ancestors of the Gods, you will soon reach a point where everything started.
And that is where the primordial come into existence.
In the beginning there were 10. Including me, there are 9 more, all of us, the original gods. People from whom all the Gods came from.”
For a second, I just looked at her. So she is telling me that she is one of the strongest being on this world?
“Being immortals, we kept living forever, but our children died every 5000 years or so. It was painful, you know? When the children breed among themselves, their children died in only 2000 years. The number kept decreasing over eons until Gods lived 500 yrs base and Demigods about 200 yrs.
Though they could increase their life by taking the life force of other gods, so there was that, too.
Anyway, as time passed, 10 of us noticed that the world was becoming more and more chaotic with passing time and it wouldn’t be long before it would end itself.
You can even say that this word is far gone beyond to the point where it could be saved.”
Her words gave a slight shock to me. While I knew that the world was going to end sooner or later, hearing it from someone like here was different from knowing it.
“But if you guys are so strong then-” I was about to ask but
“We are tired. Other than me and my child, Equi, everyone else is tired of immortality. They decided that the world should end and so our lives,” she spoke as she looked rather sad.
“By Equi….. Do you mean by the Goddess of Balance?” I was surprised to hear another name that I just got familiar with.
“The Same that was ‘killed’ by the other ‘True’ Gods,’ ‘ she smiled with a cold look as her eyes seemed more deadly than before. Honestly, I could feel the chills around my body when I looked at her.
“Anyway. After a rigorous discussion over a decade or so, we somehow ended up getting to a final solution with which everyone was content,” her face changed to that of excitement from the seriousness before.
“10 People with different abilities sent at a random time to a random place. Each Primordial chooses one person to support his side. We call those 10 people as Fate Weavers, since they are going to determine the end of this world,” she spoke with her ever excited smile.
But what I saw behind that smile was madness… it was sending chills all over my body asking me to run away from here as far as I could
“So… you want me to protect this world?” I asked as I looked at her. Since she was the only God who wanted to protect this world, and she was the one who was explaining this to me, then she-
“Ah! No. By the conditions and rules we set, we cannot involve yourself to the motive of the Fate Weavers. If you decided to end the world, then we will simply watch it end. If you want to save it, then we will watch you do it,” she spoke as she looked at me with a chuckle.
“So there are 9 other like me?” I tried to initiate a different topic than the world destruction one. I will come back to it later… let’s deal with the ‘smaller’ topics first….
“Like you? Adam. All 9 of you are completely different from each other. And hate to break it to you, but even though all 10 of you started a few days ago, you still are the weakest among them all,” she spoke as she looked at me with the same smile as before.
