‘?!’
“Don’t cross the line, young man,” Malphas said, taken aback by that firm tone, looking towards those amber eyes, retreating back after uttering words that could have been enough to cost this young man’s life.
“It was Morona who crossed it first,” Ryuk firmly stated, looking coldly at Malphas with a clear intent to not care a bit about Malphas or the Queen’s proposal for him to marry her.
It was clear that he was being taken lightly here, seen as a child who should be proud of being chosen.
Earlier, there was hesitation to marry based on some promise made by his mother, but after knowing everything, it was clear that there was some confusion here.
The confusion was on their side, thinking that their pride would not even allow them to accept others’ help and treating it as if the return favor is far bigger in comparison.
“You seem to not even have entered the Legendary rank in physical strength and yet act like this?” Malphas sighed, seeing how today’s young men don’t understand where they stand in this wide world and make decisions that are only offensive to respectful and mature individuals.
“It’s fine, Ryuk Devereaux,” Malphas said as he opened and closed his claws, clenching and loosening them to comfortably fit the gloves inside his hand. He lifted one hand to adjust the end of the white glove, further clarifying, “It’s an Elder’s job to keep their Juniors on the right path.”
Understanding the immature thoughts of the young man, Malphas decided to teach him a lesson in understanding how things work in this world, and he should better be grateful for what Demon Queen Morana was blessing him with.
Don’t know how many figures have approached Demon Queen with marriage proposals, yet she only, due to her promise, remained fixed on rejecting them.
“An Elder should set an Example,” Ryuk added in a blank tone, with the box in his hand disappearing within his inventory space—the system left all the features that didn’t need its own processing power.
Looking at the vanishing box, Ryuk then lifted his eyes towards Malphas, with his body slowly starting to shroud in orange glow with a mixed amethyst within them, muscles tightening, and cold eyes looking at Malphas. He further added, “But it seems Elders are thinking to impose their own wrong paths on the upcoming generation…”
SWISH
Before Ryuk could further add, Malphas had arrived just an inch away, with the surrounding mana crackling, and the atmosphere sent into deep isolation around ten feet distance, as if a dome was formed. Yet the words from Ryuk weren’t able to be suppressed, resonating in space, “…Isn’t it just cutting away the path for improvement and new changes?”
Malphas’s claws tightened, sharp nails emerging from his skin as he aimed at Ryuk’s abdomen.
Just before his claws could pierce the fabric of Ryuk’s clothes, a sudden, overwhelming force, as if thousands of mountains had fallen from the sky, slammed into Malphas’s ribs.
BOOOM!
A visible shockwave erupted, scattering nearby rubble in all directions. Malphas’s body was flung through the air, tumbling helplessly.
“Kughh,” his eyes turning towards the scene behind him. He saw that same young man standing, his gaze cold and unyielding.
‘?!’
But beside the young man were two cloaked figures in trench coats, their fabric fluttering in the breeze. Their sharp orange eyes glowed as they stared back at Malphas, frozen in a powerful kicking stance.
Screeechh
‘What are they doing here?!’ Malphas tried to balance his body by gripping the ground beneath while sliding uncontrollably, but the recoil kept pushing him to a distance before another sharp force hit both his legs, which were the only support for his hurling body.
Bam!
“Ugh—?!” Visibly due to the force, his body hurled with face upward due to the kick on his legs, levitating in the air with his sight fixed towards the sky before his eyes widened, seeing two kicks from both sides coming from above again.
Boom!
CRACK!
In an instant, after throwing his body off balance, two cloaked figures had pressed down Malphas’s whole body on the ground, plunging it a feet inside due to their force.
“Haaa…..Haaa….What are they doing here?” Malphas stood far away on a tree, or more specifically just seemed to appear there through some teleportation method only known to him.
His eyes looked towards the hundreds of Legendary Rankers materializing there without him even feeling their presence. His eyes instantly shot towards a figure materializing beside the young man.
‘Regina Devereaux?’ Malphas could understand why he wasn’t able to feel any of the Devereaux members’ presence there.
Naturally, the Demon army was only aware of Drishti Devereaux’s presence on Titanora with some soldiers from Ardoros.
But this was the whole army!
Malphas, though he was on PARAMOUNT—a far stronger rank than any Legendary here, but still felt overwhelmed seeing an army of individuals having strength on par with strongest forces working directly under demon queen.
And he could only deal with three or four of them, let alone a hundred.
So, there seemed to be more battle power on this side than they had expected, while Malphas were unable to sense it beforehand because Drishti Devereaux had numbed his senses to detect the exact numbers.
Every strong individual was aware of the ability to influence laws with words possessed by Drishti Devereaux, so it wasn’t a hidden secret.
“Malphas, can’t you just kill everyone here? I will not intervene.”
‘?!’
Suddenly hearing the voice, Malphas, though taken aback from the voice, kept his gaze fixed towards the other Devereaux members and that young man approaching the place where a crater was formed with a crow’s carcass.
Indeed, Malphas’s ability of instant transfer was done by switching places with Demonized crows made of his own energy.
Looking for some time at the young man and those individuals emitting such intense pressure, Malphas added, “Lady Drishti, we all know what you want here.”
He turned his gaze towards the woman standing on the tree branch beside him with folded hands and fluttering black hair and a visible smile adorning her face from the fun she had after hearing about all this story.
Naturally, since the moment she decided to accompany this young man, there were several interesting things that happened which were definitely worth her time.
She convinced Amrantha not to intervene in Esme and Ryuk’s lovey-dovey affair, solely out of concern for the younger generation.
Correction— Drishti did it after knowing about the story of Esme’s father’s death linked with Alisia Devereaux and then that reaction on Ryuk’s face whenever Alia Tenebri’s name was highlighted—simply by convincing Amrantha, she made a long-term investment for her fun.
But now, hearing Malphas’s words filled with clear rejection, she glanced at him with amusement for adding honour before her name and added, “Heh, Lady Drishti? Demon, you seem to change color faster than I lose interest in something.”
“Lady Drishti, isn’t it the rule of the world to paint yourself green in a forest and black in the night?” Malphas said, folding his hands behind him, with a finger creating another emergency Teleportation circle for his transfer from here.
But it seemed his speed was much slower to go unnoticed by Drishti as a chilling voice filled the place, emitting from her parted lips, firmly stating, “Do you really think an ant like you could have entered this place without turning into blood mist?”
