In the Celestial Phoenix Order of the Jade Dominion, the focus of the economy was primarily in the upper town, where the wealthiest members of the celestial Phoenix Order resided.
Their assets and homes were scattered across separate lands, covering an expansive area of over 1,000,000 square miles.
This vast territory was filled with mountain ranges sitting atop the flattened mountain peaks, showcasing the extravagant estates of these affluent families.
The upper town was mostly surrounded by towering mountains, where families owned vast estates perched high above the cloud-covered peaks, granting them a view appearing as if immortal world.
The Celestial Phoenix Order is structured in a way that as you travel from the lower town to the upper town, the number of mountains and their height increases significantly.
This results in the upper town being surrounded by mountain ranges that divide various families and offer land for their estates.
Each of these families has their own independent state, each with a minimum area of 54,555 square miles.
Upper town, thanks to its strategic location, was home to the most powerful and prestigious families within the entire Celestial Phoenix order, while the middle town housed families of slightly lesser influence. The lower town, on the other hand, was primarily occupied by families of lower status and strength, mostly poor individuals.
In the upper town, there were only 18 families that boasted rich histories and strength, standing out from all the others in the middle town.
This created a distinct hierarchy when it came to producing heirs or individuals who could secure positions in the main city.
The main city served as the location of the grand palace of the celestial Phoenix order, situated atop the tallest mountain in the entire land.
In the Upper town, the hierarchy determined the Top 3 families among the 18 based on their influence in the main city, with some having elders or Core disciples affiliated with the Phoenix order themselves.
The higher the position a member of these 18 families held in the main city, the higher those families were in the hierarchy.
The Wei family, ranked as the third strongest family among the 18 existing families, boasts 4 elders who hold the prestigious position of chief instructors in the main city. Their state is well-organized with a unique system, and their town is perched on the highest peak in the northern part, enveloped in clouds at a breathtaking altitude.
As the moonlight grazed through the clouds and fell on the mountain ranges, it bathed the whole town in a soothing glow, revealing numerous well-maintained traditional-style architectures constructed on wooden foundations.
These structures were adorned with intricate inscriptions of dragons and other symbols, reflecting the cultural preferences of the common people.
Mostly, the Wei family and other noble families belonging to the Upper Town operated a feudal system resembling their own mini-states with citizens and a governance system similar to but slightly different from the traditional Noble Estate.
Commoner was not a term that was used and the design favored a traditional wooden style. All the residents were cultivators who served the family and were used as soldiers when necessary, or else they were simply discarded to the middle town.
Inside one of the houses belonging to a member of the Wei family, a sudden light flashed near the bed of a young man who appeared to have been in a half-dead state for several years.
“Haaah….Haaah…How this happened”, Suddenly, the young man’s body snapped forward as he realized that the connection established to escape inside a body in the lower town had just been severed, meaning that the body was killed.
‘No, what about Zhen’er’, Liu Wei instantly tried to lift himself from the bed, but halfway through, his body fell to the floor due to his weakened state. This made him realize that he was back in his real body. “N-no.”
A few years ago, when Liu Wei was just 16 years old, he discovered a unique ability within himself. It seemed that his soul was actually a fragment of someone else’s body, leading him to realize that he was not truly himself, but perhaps part of someone else’s life.
He also realized that there were seven other fragments similar to him, all thanks to his master who informed him about this.
‘Master, help me, tell me what happened with me?!’, In a voice filled with urgency, he called out to his master. When he didn’t receive a response, he cried out again,’Master! Please, this is urgent!’
(Shut up disciple, Don’t call me everytim—what happened to your body?) A sudden voice boomed, which initially cautioned against summoning it frequently. However, upon noticing the changes in Liu Wei’s body, it inquired about the reason behind these changes.
‘Master, that’s what I want to know. Thanks to your help, I was able to escape after being betrayed by that bitch but this?’, Liu Wei remembered the day when, after being betrayed by his fiancée, he felt the need to seek revenge on her. This led him to take over the body of a young man from a lower town, but at the cost of merging all of that young man’s memories with his own.
Technically, the young man’s body was already dead due to poisoning. Taking over it, Liu Wei learned about the secret of that body’s childhood friend who was blind.
Aware of her background, he portrayed himself as her childhood friend and, in doing so, developed feelings for her.
‘No, my Zhen’er’, Liu Wei couldn’t believe that he was once again trapped in his own body, which was nothing but a wreck with disabilities. He had nothing except for a fiancée who was arrogant and manipulative, marrying him only to gain the status of being the third young mistress of the Wei family.
Even now, it is clear that his condition inside this room was dire. He was nothing but a puppet of a husband lying in a coma, while that woman must have been increasing her influence and strength.
He wanted to become strong and assert himself in front of that woman, making her regret not choosing him, but everything fell apart.
( Calm down, disciple. Why didn’t you call me when you fought someone like a monster, like that guy?), The voice called out again when it saw an image of a strong black man with orange eyes wearing a mask in Liu Wei’s memories, instantly realizing the man’s immense strength.
‘Master, I wanted to protect Zhen’er myself’, Gritting his teeth, Liu Wei lay on the floor in a kneeling position. He couldn’t believe that everything had shattered in a moment without him realizing that he had been killed.
“Hmm, It’s seems your luck saved you today once again, pfft”
Suddenly, a sultry voice echoed inside the room. Liu Wei, kneeling, turned his eyes towards the woman who had just arrived.
The moonlight revealed her milky white skin. She had a heart-shaped face, long black hair, large almond-shaped eyes, high cheekbones, full pink lips, a slender neck, and graceful shoulders.
Her body was lithe and perfectly proportioned, draped in a flowing gown that highlighted her willowy frame. Her curves were dangerously enticing, leaving Liu Wei breathless by just her presence.
“Yao Lian!” Liu’s teeth clamped together the moment he realized that the woman was none other than his fiancée.
“Liu wei, even after being crippled, you’re still as pathetic as ever, Fufu.”
Two things I wanted to cear if Readers were confused due to my mistakes somewhere:
1. When Liu Wei dies, his soul will merge with Keith (and the other 6 lives). This process happens in series, meaning the nearest one will receive the memories of the most recently deceased Son of Heaven. Currently, Liu Wei is not dead but has used a soul transmission talisman. Therefore, until he dies, his memories will not merge with the nearest Son of Heaven.
2. Ryuk does not know that Esme is Alia’s(maid heroine) sister. I was reading my chapters and noticed a paragraph where my own perspective and Ryuk’s were mixed up. This prompted me to accidentally mention Alia’s name instead of referring to the heroine, causing confusion for a reader. So, for clarity, he does not have any idea. (though I think most of the Readers know this)
And finally,
Okay, I had informed about my exams but seeing your enthusiasm, I am uploading this chapter. However, I could only manage to provide one chapter for now. I hope to provide the next chapter soon, please have patience like always.
