Inside the grand palace of the Celestial Pheonix Order.
The figure of a woman moved through the hallway as if the night had reached its peak, glancing back to see if anyone was following her. Her breath was ragged, ‘Haah…. haaa…’ Jenny’s lips were bitten, her heart pounding as she remembered the events of moments before.
‘He is back? No, how is this possible? ‘, Recalling the pain she suffered from Baroness Carlien as a young girl in Heindal, Jenny was overwhelmed with a mix of intense emotions. However, what troubled her the most was the realization that the person who had caused her torment in the past was now reappearing in her life.
‘I need to talk to Mother now!’ Jenny halted, her trembling pupils glancing down at her numbing legs. She felt the need to deal with the problem before it could escalate by taking actions in advance. The most she could do was act soon to stop that man from entering the main center of the Celestial Phoenix order.
“Mihela!” After arriving at a suitable distance, Jenny called out the name of the person she was desperately looking for, but due to feeling overwhelmed a few moments earlier, she couldn’t get the words out.
“Your orders, my lady.” Suddenly, a shadow revealed a figure of a man with makeup, specifically a eunuch, who arrived in front of Jenny. He knelt down and placed his hand on his chest with a blank expression, while his eyes observed the state of the woman. ‘Rising blood pressure, trembling hands, and a numbing body. Did the young miss just see a phantom?’
“Mihela! Take me to mother now!” Jenny’s body staggered forward after seeing someone had arrived to save her, letting herself relax as she slumped forward with her eyes finally closing from exhaustion. Before she reached the ground, she noticed everything around her changing as if space itself was morphing.
“Huh? Meiyue?”
Suddenly, a voice called out, causing Jenny to slowly lift her eyes towards the changed sight. A middle-aged woman sat on a chair surrounded by maids, getting her hair combed while wearing a nightgown, looking back at Jenny with concern.
“M-mom!” Jenny cried out as her body fell to the floor from the effects of the adrenaline finally leaving her body caused by the fear that had overwhelmed her mind when she heard the familiar voice. But now, seeing the support after all this time, she felt relieved.
“Help her!” The woman cried out the moment she saw her daughter falling to the floor. The maids swiftly dashed and lifted Jenny from the floor, then placed her on the nearby bed. Jenny gasped, her eyes teary enough to cause the woman to worry.
“Mom, he is back” Jenny has already endured a lot of trauma since childhood, and her past life was not any better, as she was killed by the same man she sought to avenge her family.
She felt broken from within and this time was determined not to lose any of her loved ones at the hands of that monster who only appeared human from the outside.
“First, please calm down, Jenny. Don’t cry as if you are a child and tell me everything.” The woman approached Jenny and hugged her. She sighed as she saw her daughter, who should have been strong enough to be considered a prodigy if not for her stunted growth, crying like a child. This prompted the woman to console her daughter.
“No, I am not crying, Mom,” Jenny hugged her tightly while gritting her teeth, memories flashing in her mind of all the events she had gone through.
Her life was miserable to think about: she was sold into slavery to help her family settle the debt they were in, with no hope of regaining her status as a commoner once she received a slave seal.
In the midst of that darkness, she saw a light in the form of the prince of Selvius kingdom who purchased her as a slave.
Unusually, her life was much better considering she was never once called a slave or treated as one until the day she started to have feelings for that prince.
To her dismay, there was a greater cruel side hidden inside the prince who mocked her with a snicker while he cut through each of her family members who kept crying and insisting they were innocent.
Tears of blood dried when one would see their loved ones die, even at the hands of the man to whom she had given everything that day.
She felt her world shatter the moment she realized that he was a psychopath who had saved her just to satisfy his own ego and appear as a kind-hearted person, to boost his own self-esteem.
But against someone like a monster like that prince, she was helpless.
At that moment, as if a devilish whisper, she heard the voice of Diana providing her with the support she needed.
They finally had the chance to kill the Prince. Everyone understood the true face of the two-faced man, and in the end, they came together to finally put an end to his tyranny.
“He is back! Ryuk has returned to kill everyone again!” Jenny’s mind recalled the memories of her life’s final moments, where her body bore wounds inflicted by a man who never cared for her and ultimately showed his true face by killing every woman who loved him.
A face that he had hidden while acting kind to everyone.
“What? To whom are you referring, my child?” The woman seemed confused as she glanced towards the eunuch who came forward and bowed.
“Master, she is referring to the son of Alisia Devereaux who lived in Heindal before being crippled,” the man replied telepathically, opening his eyes.
In the moonlight, his white hollow pupils sparkled, accentuating the emptiness within.
“Huh? Do you mean the woman who came searching for the Immortal Phoenix Essence Elixir?” The woman also used telepathy to recall the arrival of a Devereaux who came to meet matriarch in search of an Elixir to heal his son’s broken energy core. It was noted that the matriarch and the woman both had the same master.
Indeed, the matriarch of the Celestial Phoenix Order and Alisia Devereaux were trained under the same master.
Though they had never once met, Alisia Devereaux left two years after claiming she had nothing left to learn about Internal Energy. Many viewed this as arrogance coming from a Devereaux. However, just a few months later, the massacre of Vampires occurred.
Since that day, vampires who considered Alisia Devereaux as their arch enemy also showed hostility towards Jade Dominion, causing them to rarely interact with them now.
“Yes, it appears that her son had become a flagbearer,” Man replied silently using telepathy, a minor aspect of Qi telekinesis. He looked towards the woman who frowned as she glanced down at her daughter.
After hearing her mother’s words, Jenny saw this as an opportunity to finally resolve everything. She clenched her teeth and hid her face as she told a blatant lie: “Mother, he was the one who sold me to the auction house! He ruined my life!”
Sigh, I really took a very long break, didn’t I?
Exams are over, and I am currently working on getting back into the habit of writing. Thank you for your patience.
