Gasp
“I-is it a joke?” One of the outer disciples, looking towards the slab that had been broken by a single punch from the man who was now making his way out of the pavilion, felt his eyes trembling as he turned towards one of her fellow disciples.
“Hah, h-he is a monster?!” Standing near her, the outer disciples also had widened eyes and trembling bodies as their hands clenched the railing, observing the cracks on the stone that was indestructible, given that they had always dreamed of leaving a mark of themselves on it.
Naturally, having been trained in the outer pavilion from the age of nine or having been selected through tournaments to enter the pavilion, it was a dream for all of them.
But after spending time there, their dream changed to leaving a crack or mark of their presence on that trial stone, which had a legacy of never having a single crack on it, considering that it was drawing its energy from the spiritual veins present in the outer pavilion.
To be exact, that particular stone, which was judging a candidate to move forward to the next trial, represented the whole outer pavilion while utilizing all the internal energy available inside it. Yet now, it held several cracks from that unknown man.
“Wh-what’s next?” One of them looked towards the Elder, seeing how even he was surprised, considering that even their Elder was not strong enough to leave more than a single mark on the stone slab, as he had once claimed. This made all the disciples feel slightly taken aback, much more so that for a moment they forgot about the disgusting stench coming from beside them.
‘S-system, I will be able to do that too now, right?’ Standing with a pouch containing human poop hanging on his wrist, Lin Feng looked towards the slab with his widened eyes and a creepy smile.
“Blerrgh…! Haah…! I seem to have some stomach ache,” After vomiting, Lin Feng once again turned his gaze towards the center of the trial ground while using his wrist to clean his mouth.
“Blugh, fuck, this idiot!” One of the disciples felt like killing Lin Feng, who had been eating human waste for a week now.
Lin Feng’s body had turned pale from malnutrition, and his mouth smelled like a toilet, so repulsive that even from a distance of a hundred meters, and despite applying a talisman to suppress his body odor, it still felt like it would make them vomit just by seeing him.
Indeed, from the start, Lin Feng, who was one of the disciples in the Outer Pavilion, not having many of his own achievements, had gone insane after being caught by several disciples while eating animal poop from dog to horse and now even going so far as to eat human feces.
Before the candidates from the upper town could enter the outer pavilion, all the disciples had used talismans to suppress Lin Feng’s smell, considering the Elder had warned them that for any internal fight, the most they could do was not show such a bad image in front of those arriving from outside and reveal a poop-eating outer disciple.
“L-leave that psycho! I will personally kill that disgusting bastard in the second trial, but will the second trial even commence?” One of the outer disciples ignored Lin Feng, who was laughing maniacally and focused in front towards the Elder, waiting for his reply before he announced it.
“Everyone, there’s no need to act surprised. Focus on passing the first trial since everyone is unique in some way. Please come forward and continue the trial.” The Elder’s voice reverberated throughout the place due to his enhanced voice infused with internal energy.
“It’s a relief,” After finally hearing the Elder’s words, most of the candidates from the upper town felt assured that they still had a chance to enter the second trial.
But this was not the case for the disciples from the outer pavilion, as they had already seen something unbelievable, making them all look intensely towards the second portal, knowing that once they passed the first trial, they would need to deal with that monster first.
:: Fail ::
:: Pass ::
Unlike the expectations of others, where they thought now that there were several cracks, a punch would be able to break the slab, it appeared that this was not the case. The slab was able to withstand their punches while giving them the results.
“O-only 6?” Looking towards how until now, out of 30 candidates, only six were able to qualify, others felt confused and fell into a dilemma, knowing how even after collecting so much internal energy and rising in ranks, they were not getting selected.
Regardless of their opinions, the trial continued to unfold as participants made their way to the slab, exerting themselves to the fullest while channeling their internal energy and striking one after another in succession.
“Haah…. th-this?” The candidate who was the last among the group, leaving behind only the other five individuals from the upper town standing, looked up towards the slab to see if he had passed or not after punching it.
:: Pass ::
“Yes! Finally!” The man yelled upon seeing that he had passed before turning towards the second trial and sprinting as if he did not want to stay in this place anymore, forgetting about his status as one of the highest of 18 major families; he just wanted to enter the second portal.
“It seems now it’s your turn,” Ryuk said, seeing that only four of them, including him, remained from the upper town. He calmly answered, at which Iliantara, standing beside him, moved forward.
Ryuk observed as she moved towards the platform before hearing a voice beside him.
“Do you like furry ears and tails?” Esme, for a while, observing their conversation, inquired, seeing how that woman also seemed eager to answer his questions regarding her body features.
[ Of course, everyone likes soft, fluffy tails 〜(꒪꒳꒪)〜 ]
“No, I was just curious,” Ryuk shook his head while looking at Esme, who arrived next to him and nodded.
[ Liar, what about Bella Illiyas? Didn’t you save her due to—ERROR!]
Esme turned her attention to the cracked stone slab, she noticed Iliantara approaching it.
That woman appeared to be disinterested in her partner, which reassured Esme, especially since Iliantara hadn’t once glanced back.
“Go stand in line, it’s your turn next. Shoo~!” Esme raised her brow as she glanced towards Yao Lian before steering her to move forward towards the platform.
“You!” Yao Lian, who was also observing everything calmly, felt frustrated seeing someone of that caliber who could break the slab had entered the second trial. Now this golden-eyed woman was getting on her nerves again, prompting her to only grit her teeth as she turned towards the platform and moved forward.
“How will you pass, Esme, though?” Ryuk, seeing how out of the four present here, the two of them had already moved towards the platform, inquired, given that she didn’t have any Qi or physical strength.
“Isn’t it just pass or fail, right?” Esme folded her hands, her golden-purple gaze directed towards the slab, not caring about its judgment, considering she could simply cast an illusion and mold things to her favor, given how she had always passed tests in her homeland.
