“Don’t forget Father. You promised me you’d give me his dead body.”
Fidgeting with her fingers and feeling nervous, Mia looked towards her father with watery eyes, reflecting her innocence and naivety in this cruel world.
“Sigh, haven’t you already got an Incubus—?” Dreck tried to remind his daughter about her possession of an Incubus but got interrupted by her.
“No! They are nothing compared to him. I just want him, Dad.” Mia’s eyes became teary as she retaliated, her palm trying to calm her now falling tears but unable to do anything. She broke down in pain, “Sob…Sniff…I-I want that toy…sob.”
“Fine, Mia, don’t cry now.” Dreck placed his hand on Mia’s head, consoling her and finally capitulating to his daughter’s tears—a helpless father indeed.

“You and your daughter both still have loose screws, don’t you, Dreck?” With that comment, a figure began to materialize in the space, the density of the surrounding air increasing, causing the air to shimmer with a heat haze.
“…” Narrowing his gaze, Dreck looked towards the newly arrived young man, the current genius who had achieved middle Legendary [Perfect] status at the age of 35.
Something unachievable for them, given their own growth rates and the usual time gaps between levels and breakthroughs being two years or more.
“Whatever, I was just here to check on Bro’s condition, can’t leave him alone in the absence of Aunt.” Lucas placed his hands behind his head before lazily walking towards the Spire, whistling, giving off a carefree vibe.
“Shouldn’t you be in Clavale?” Dreck, seeing the person he least expected here due to his status as a Flagbearer, was confused.
“And technically, I am exactly there,” halting in his path, tilting his head, and glancing at Dreck, he winked.
‘Cripple must be dead by now. What if…’, Dreck began to contemplate how to handle the situation, with one of the Flagbearers here— Even if it was a Mirage, it was able to manifest some of the real body’s strength.
In this world, with its vast number of techniques and races that grow stronger over time, some members of the Devereaux family chose to focus on a particular technique or foundation to reach its peak.
And one of them was Lucas Devereaux, who chose the Rakshasa technique, something that makes others think twice before choosing due to the dark aura linked with it, known for corrupting its users’ minds.
“Don’t pressure your brain, Dreck. I don’t want to see it explode, pfft,” Lucas said, laughing, then went and sat on a platform, seemingly a piece of a pillar, placing his hand on his thighs with his palm supporting his chin.

Within moments, seven figures arrived at the location, their entire bodies shrouded in white aura, their eyes glimmering in the presence of moonlight, their amber hues shining intensely.
“Bastard! Do you know what you did?” Adrian Crawford burst directly at Dreck Chandler upon arrival, feeling enraged after not finding him at his estate and then arriving at this place.
“Shut up! Everyone knows what you did with the Young Master’s potion.” A grin formed on Dreck’s face, while others followed closely behind, leaving no loose ends.
“Yes, Adrian. Chandler provided us with proof of how you poisoned our Young Master.”
“I don’t trust Chandler. Crawford please tell me that the poison was mixed inside the Dragon Scale by mistake.”
“Is it because of the low output this Ether Crystal was giving you?”
“Never did we think you people would be this greedy, Crawfords.”
“Sigh, Lady Alisia had trusted you.”
Slowly, several voices from other heads of the branch family began to fill the air, everyone’s sharp gazes fixed on Adrian, disgust visible on their faces.
“Y-you all…” Adrian couldn’t believe how things were unfolding here.
He wasn’t stupid enough to not understand what they were trying to achieve by blaming everything on him while acting ignorant.
WHOOSH
“You bastards! Don’t think we will die alone!” One of the Crawfords shouted, his aura bursting out, shrouding the whole area in intense pressure.
“…” Seeing how each Crawford seemed prepared to fight till the end, Dreck secretly glanced at the other branch families.
He could see their facades crumbling, with all of them considering letting others engage in the fight.
Due to the drawback of the Devereaux Bloodline, none of them could risk fighting the Crawfords to the death. But if the Crawfords went all out against them, killing would be inevitable.
So, the better option was to let other branch members engage in battle while someone called Alisia Devereaux and informed her about the death of her son.
Which was impossible due to her unknown location.
“Calm down, Adrian. It could be a misunderstanding,” Dreck tried to postpone the situation, seeing things getting out of control, ignoring the Lucas who had a smile on his face before slowly whispering, audible to everyone due to their mana-enhanced senses.
“Has anyone confirmed if Bro is dead or not?”
‘!?’
Silence~
Everything fell into pin-drop silence.
None of those present here even took the time to think about it, as if each one of them was already sure about the death of Ryuk Devereaux.
“Tch, you old geezers. Dreck can be an idiot for his daughter, but you all are just taking a flying arrow in your wrinkled ass,”
Lucas slowly stood, observing these people busy in their political game, amused since each of them could decide the fate of several continents with their hand, yet reaching conclusions without even confirming it.
“I will just check myself,” Lucas moved towards the gates of the Spire before halting and giving a cold glare, stating, “but if something happened to bro, you all are dead.”
“…..”
Approaching the gates, Lucas stretched his hand to open it.
‘!?!’

BOOOOM!
Before he could even react to the strong energy he felt by retreating back with swift agility, a force on his abdomen hurled him out a mile’s range, sending him like a cannon and causing a sharp sound to resonate in the air.
GASP
Everyone’s eyes, due to their strength, could have seen the speed or force, but the confusing thing was, even with their Legendary ranks and such high-level battle strength, none of them saw a thing.
KRIEEEK
Their gazes fixed on the metal gates, which had slight movement, not even blinking while patiently waiting to see the figure coming out of it.
“HOHO, never expected to see all of you here?” Alfred, coming out of the gates, heartily laughed upon seeing all six branch families that had been supporting Alisia Devereaux, or at least they claimed to be.
“How can you do—” Adrian and Dreck both, at the same time, looking at the old man in front of them, felt completely shocked, trying to show their bewilderment about his speed. But before they could complete anything, they were interrupted by Alfred.
“How can you accept this senile bone to move that swiftly?” Alfred’s face frowned, feeling everyone’s gazes, understanding that there was a huge misunderstanding that just occurred here, prompting him to clarify the situation.
“Then, was it those Mayas?” One of the middle-aged men stated, understanding that the Mayas could do it, even though they were at the Epic level, but maybe they got some upgrade from Lady Angelica, who knows.
