Reincarnated and Regressed Villain – Make heroines beg for forgiveness – Chapter 78

78 Chapter 78 - Lucas Devereaux

Far away from Ardoros, another expanse existed—specifically, at a distance of 7,914.3 miles, where the night seemed to dissolve.

Unlike Ardoros, which was bathed in moonlight, Calvale was enveloped by a colossal dome of black smoke, with shimmering lightning strikes revealing the eerie presence of this continent.

Enormous clouds, at least a kilometer thick, blocked any glimmer of Gaia from reaching the land of this place.

The dark aura emanating from miles of expanse was ominous and menacing, with corrupted smoke seeming to contaminate the nearby ocean shores of this continent.

This expanse, spanning 15.63 million square miles, was filled with beings that reigned in the shadows, while a thick cloud above prevented any light rays from disturbing this place, which was akin to an abyss.

Tearing through the heavy clouds, the intensity of the ominous aura within the already dense air made the whole place uninhabitable for any race, with losing sanity being just the first step for any being living here.

Filled with shadows so dense they seemed solid, Calvale appeared to be a void that devoured light itself, complemented by a ghostly presence filling the atmosphere beneath the poisonous clouds.

In the heart of this place, at the very center where the darkness was dominant enough to form a wormhole, ready to devour the surrounding space, a sharp voice tore through the sinister canvas of this place, resonating for hundreds of miles.

“Khhhhuuuuuwwwekkkkk!!!”

A loud, sharp scream from an ominous being sent chills throughout the area it reached, causing creatures hidden within those solid shadows to slowly emerge.

These creatures, with sleek, dark bodies blending into their surroundings and sharp, angular features, had elongated limbs ending in clawed hands.

Their matte skin absorbed any light, making them nearly invisible in the darkness, with heads crowned with short, horn-like protrusions, adding to their menacing appearance.

drip

Their elongated mouths trickled with amethyst acidic fluid, burning the ground upon contact, with a meter-long tongue—the only body part showing some redness—sensing their surroundings, and eyes that seemed embedded deep within seven holes on their heads.

“Grrrrrrr….kheerrkk.”

Emerging from the shadows, their bodies vanished with those words, instantly teleporting towards the source of their kin’s scream.

SWISH SWISH SWISH

Suddenly, the sound of hundreds, then thousands, then millions of such creatures emerging and vanishing filled the surroundings for a thousand miles, all converging towards a single place.

Moving at the front, one of those creatures finally arrived at a mile away from the source of that scream, its eyes showing a reddish image of things unlike colorful, jumping from one shadow to another.

SWISH

“Zrrrrgghhhk?!”

Suddenly halting its motion, the creature looked towards a huge meteorite-sized crater formed at that place where only amethyst fluid was visible on its depth, looking like a small lake.

Screeeechh

Another sharp sound caused that creature to turn its head towards a black silhouette, using a wooden stick to draw something around that huge crater, moving through its circumference while counting something on his hand.

“….Qrrriiikkkt.” Tilting its head, the creature seemed confused due to the far denser sinister energy oozing out of that silhouette; it was pure evil, something that even faded the darkness that the creature was accustomed to.

Suddenly, a sound sourced from that abyssal silhouette caused the creature to retreat a few steps due to the dark runes it could see mixed in that voice.

“How can you be so merciless, bro?” Lucas finally attached both lines across the circumference of the crater, turned his gaze upward, smiling while completing his words, “to sever my connection?”

With a sharp smile added with a slightly long canine, Lucas turned his gaze towards the arrived army of thousands of Black creatures which needed for him to complete his ritual.

“Shall we begin?” A glint passed through those amber eyes before his figure, which was completely black, started to emit dark aura, devouring nearby space.

“Vrrrreeeeekk!”

“Krrrrakkkk!”

SWISH SWISH

His voice triggered the hidden instincts of those unfathomable numbers of creatures, oozing amethyst fluid while their roar filled the whole surrounding, their bodies shorting towards Lucas, forming smokes moving towards him.

SWOOPPP!

Several smokes hurled towards a silhouette which belonged to Lucas but seemed different from any human, it was more like a humanoid drenched in obsidian black aura.

BOOOM!

SWOOOOSH!

A simple clash and dozens of creatures were turned into dust, only leaving behind shockwaves shaking the whole land beneath this massacre.

BANG!

CRACKLE!

Several sounds filled the surrounding, sending enormous waves that pushed back the dense air, breaking those shadows which seemed solid a moment ago.

…..

“Bluuuurghk!” Being cornered, one of the creatures vomited highly concentrated amethyst acidic fluid from its mutilated mouth, falling on the hand which grasped its struggling body.

Fuzzzz!

On touching the surface of that hand, a sound of corrosion reverberated in that serene surrounding which was devoid of any life throughout miles. Only the remaining thing was the thousands of carcasses of Black creatures lying on the ground while creating a mountain, filled with a pool of amethyst fluid.

“It should be enough to establish the connection, Once again.”

CRUNCH!

Clenching his grip, the bones of that struggling creature, which seemed harder than steel, crushed into pieces before falling on the ground.

THUD!

Dropping that body, Lucas slowly moved towards the center of the crater, his feet immersing in that acidic solution, slowly the black layer over his body becoming thinner before vanishing.

“Zarathu Asgara Vecs!”

WHOOOOSH!

A dark ominous light streak shot towards the sky, the bodies of creatures turning into dust mixing in, becoming a source of power for that beam.

Slowly leaning, Lucas folded his legs sitting in Lotus position, a barrier forming surrounding him to protect his physical body while a silhouette started to rise from him.

SWISH!

That Ethereal body got absorbed in that light streak which started to bend, directly heading towards a distance of 7,914.3 miles away from it.

….

“We got signal back, bruh.” Lucas brought his hand forward, caressed his hair before leaning back, and swiftly stood with a front flip, dusting off his clothes.

Instead of in front, his eyes were fixed on the crack at the center of his abdomen, clotted blood and destroyed physical body gave him too much pain.

Rubbing his injury, his carefree smile replaced with a serious expression, glint passing through his eyes, while caressing his abdomen stating, “Guess Bro needs some beatings.”

Slowly lifting his gaze to prepare himself for a leap to deal with the individual who took him by surprise.

‘!?!’

“hehe…..I definitely meant, this bro needs some beating.” With a twitching mouth, pointing towards himself, he changed his previous statement.

Lucas’s eyes reflected an enormous battleship fallen on the ground, just beside a huge Spire which was broken in half, burning forming an enormous clouds of flames.

It appeared like hell had fallen on this world, fire had covered up the whole surrounding, heat reaching even a mile, warm sensation vivid on his skin.

Lucas’s eyes seemed to widen while his normal demeanor breaking by the scenery in front of him.

It was complete annihilation, several individuals’ dead bodies lay on the ground, aura leaking out of them revealed them at Legendary Ranks with now depleted energy cores and exhausted bodies.

‘What is he?’ Lucas’s pupil reflected a young man shrouded in burning amber energy which was not mana but Ether, standing in the middle while surrounded by several injured bodies laying around him.

All misery around him seemed like just another hum of air, his eyes’ glimmer enhanced by light emitting from the surrounding fire while he held a shining ethereal sword.

Everything seemed to stop at that moment, only that individual standing firmly while everything around him was burning in insatiable fire.

From Ryuk Von Selvius to Ryuk Devereaux, the name may change, but what will remain in the end is him, and him alone.

"So, Diana, what's your excuse for betraying me?" His amber glinted eyes bore into the woman with bloodied, broken blue hair, kneeling in complete disarray. "... you're evil." "Oh, so, looking out for all of you makes me evil?" The man narrowed his eyes, contemplating the echoes of protagonist halos and heroines' mentality, starkly real now. Coming from a world far removed from such grim reality, he had read about these personalities in novels, but experiencing their shortcomings firsthand was a different story. "How am I evil?" He looked down at his foot where a young man, limbless and crushed, lay in a state of complete brokenness, mustering the little strength he had left to utter some words. "... y.. you ba..stard, You killed millions." Hearing these words, the man's internal amusement grew at the absurdity of these hypocritical people. He had eradicated all the evil organizations within the Empire after ascending to his throne. Wars were waged to crush rebellious kingdoms that stood against his Empire, uniting the entire Heidal Continent under one flag—the Selvius Empire. He shifted his gaze towards another woman with pink hair, her body completely broken, supported by a rock to maintain a semblance of balance amidst the devastation. "Hmm, so what about you, Karina? Wasn't your family about to be executed by the Aidiac Royal family? Is it wrong for me to have intervened?" "You killed them without mercy, and although you saved my family, it was not worth it." "I just saved—" "It's bullshit. You could have solved everything peacefully without drawing so much blood." Hearing all this, the man began to understand why those novels depicted these people as hypocritical and low in intelligence. If he hadn't saved them, they would have suffered the most gruesome fate. Yet, despite being saved, these ungrateful individuals chose to blame him. The bitter irony of their ingratitude gnawed at him, leaving a bitter taste in his mouth. "Guess you all have the same reasons." The man looked towards the seven people, their disdainful gazes directed at him. He had only aimed to change their fates, to rescue some from slavery, others from crippling circumstances, and a few from inevitable betrayal. Yet, they all blamed him for saving them, unable to comprehend that he had severed the root causes that would have subjected them to excruciating suffering. "Hahaha." "Indeed, now I see." He now understood what those novels had tried to convey—'these idiots think this whole world works like they think it would.' 'System.........
