Reincarnated as an Energy with a System – Chapter 1528

Toward Urelon

Chapter 1528: Toward Urelon

The distance between Zoultan and Urelon was roughly 140 million kilometers at the time when City 3’s rocket ship had taken flight. As a result, the ship had to push itself as fast as it could to cover such a massive distance in as short a time as it could.

Urelon was in fact moving toward them, and while one would assume it coming closer meant that the ship didn’t have to travel at much, it turned out that the distance the moon covered before they reached it was negligible.

In fact, it had to be negligible. These humans could not afford to stay in the ship for more than a couple of days at best, and for that, they had to travel in space at the speed of nearly a thousand kilometers per second.

Compared to that, the measly 10-kilometer-per-second speed at which Urelon was traveling toward them in the vacuum of space was truly quite negligible.

At such a speed, these people would reach the other moon in just over 2 days. If not for the fact that accelerating up to such an absurd speed took time and energy, they could actually reach the other moon in less than 2 days of time.

The tip of the massive bulbous ship was now pointed toward the darkness of space, toward a tiny pinprick of light that one could barely even tell was a moon at all.

The job of the Attractors was over for a while, and all that remained was for the Burners and Breathers to pump out as much fire and air as they could into the thrusters to gain more speed.

Ning watched the people work for a while before realizing a small problem he hadn’t thought of at all. And that was the fact that the space around Krimanax was in fact not fully vacuum.

No space was ever truly a vacuum. If not some space dust, there would always be high-speed hydrogen atoms, photons, and all sorts of subatomic particles buzzing around in the emptiness of space.

However, the space around Krimanax was more than just that. Spark flew out from the gas giant and saturated the space around it, which in turn introduced resistance for the rocket ship as it traveled toward its destination.

Thankfully, these people were more than prepared for it.

In fact, they weren’t just prepared for the resistance, they were looking forward to it.

Ning was at the top of the ship, looking around the place when he saw a man arrive at the top. There was artificial gravity on the ship, produced by the fact that the ship was ever in acceleration. It helped create a constant backward force on everyone that could be viewed as gravity.

For the next few hours, before the deceleration process started, the gravity would persist.

The man who came to the room was a high-ranking military official, one that Ning didn’t recognize at all, but he did recognize the rank badge on his chest.

He was a General, the highest authority on the ship most probably, considering there were only 4 people with higher authority than him.

The Attractors couldn’t move but the Thinker and the Connector immediately saluted the man as he entered with a few people behind him.

“Any problems, Captain?” the General asked.

“None at all, General,” the Thinker answered.

“Good. Then are we ready to proceed?” the General asked.

“Yes, sir. We’re waiting on your permission,” the Thinker replied.

“Permission Granted.”

Ning observed the exchange with a weird bit of curiosity. What was happening now? Weren’t they already en route for Urelon? Whatever needed to be done had to wait until they were closer to Urelon certainly.

The Thinker didn’t consume any Spark. It seemed he didn’t need to do any thinking for this part. He simply turned and walked up to a control panel on one side of the ship, pulled out what looked like a Data Core, and placed it on one of the panels.

The man could then see something projected directly into his retina that Ning could not. He moved his hands, doing something in the process, and moved back.

He then looked up. The major looked up, and so did everyone else.

Ning wondered what they were going to be looking at, so he looked up as well.

Suddenly, he heard loud noises from all around the hull of the ship, making him wonder just what was happening. The noise wasn’t very loud, and the people in the hall only noticed it because they were focusing on it, but to Ning, it sounded like the ship was coming apart.

Without hesitation, he teleported out of the ship, quickly maintaining a relative 0 velocity along with it. Then, he saw just what was happening on the outside.

Metal flaps, around half a meter wide, began opening from the surface of the ship. Hundreds, if not thousands of such flaps opened up at around 45-degree angle, opening in the direction they were moving in.

“What are they—”

Ning had only wondered for a split seconds when he saw exactly what they were doing.

Tiny bits of Spark dust that flew in the space made their way into the open hatch of the surface, gathering there.

Gathering.

‘Wow!’ Ning thought. ‘They are gathering Spark!’

Ning went by the flaps to see more what he could. He quickly realized that each of these flaps was actually not isolated at all, and the opening all simply led to the same massive gap in the ship between the outer and inner hall.

A large matrix of shot metal rods connected the outer and inner ship, making sure that the outside hull didn’t take that much damage.

Judging by the size of the ship and how much Spark had gathered in the time it had opened just now, Ning came to a rough conclusion that by the time they reached Urelon, these people would have gathered over 40 tons of Spark.

That was quite the amount of Spark to help them get started on the other Moon.

Not done with my break just yet. I should be back home tomorrow, so I can go back to regular releases in 2 more days. I’ll try to set up a small mass release for the next month if i can once i’m back.
