Chapter 1534: Mission Complete
Now that the group was out, and the 6 of them were back together, it was time to do something about the massive 8 thousand tons of Spark they had managed to gather on the asteroid.
Fortunately, it was all gathered at one location.
Unfortunately, it was also 8000 tons in mass.
While that didn’t mean much here where there wasn’t much gravity, the amount of energy needed to pull this thing away would still be incredible. And the speed at which they could fly would be severely affected given the mass.
There would be no way of catching up to the ship if they dragged this on.
After a short rest, the Carver stood up again and did some more work. This time around, he began slanting the wall down toward the crater, slowly creating a cover on top of it.
As he worked, the top half of the crater was becoming smaller and smaller until it didn’t exist anymore. Then, at that point, he began carving away the excess from the walls and the top, making it thinner and thinner.
Due to the lack of gravity, regardless of how thin the earthen lid was, it wouldn’t crack or collapse under its own weight.
Krimanax slowly went down the horizon in the distance, and that got the people to begin working harder. Since the asteroid had turned around, they had only a small window where they could take off from this asteroid.
Otherwise, they would have to wait another hour or so for it to make a complete turn. Leaving when the ship was away from the asteroid was just a much better idea.
Once the Carver was done with thinning the walls and most likely the base as well, three people came forward, standing before a small lump of Spark that was seemingly separated for its usage now.
Just as the Carver had done, they opened a section of their spacesuit to the front and quickly shoved many fistfuls of Spark inside of it. As soon as it was inside, they closed it once again.
The pain they felt was horrible, obviously, but it didn’t last long as the Cultivator got to healing immediately. She healed the three people one by one until all of them were okay.
Ning looked at the three and recognized only two of them. One was the Converter and another was the Teleporter.
He hadn’t seen the third person, a woman in her late 30s, work yet. She was the only person here that hadn’t done anything yet.
And Ning had a guess as to why that was. He could guess her profession and power.
The woman snorted a huge amount of Spark at once, taking in as much as she physically could. Just at the same time, the two others did the same as well.
The Converter consumed a lot of Spark, although not as much as the woman, and quickly placed her hands on the thin dirt wall that was prepared by the Carver.
She willed it and suddenly the dirt wall turned into some sort of cloth. It looked synthetic, like something made out of plastic, but at the same time quite flexible and rubbery.
It wasn’t just the top that had turned into this material. The side and most likely the bottom of the crater had turned into this material as well.
And everything was seamless, so everything was sealed. The Converter had suddenly created a massive ball of Spark that they could then drag around without any worry of spill.
That was not to say that there would ever be a concern for spillage at all. They weren’t planning on dragging it at all.
No, they were planning on teleporting it.
The Teleporter walked up to the giant sack of Spark and placed his hands on it. He waited and looked back at the other woman who needed to do her things first.
This woman was a Thinker, and he needed to give her time to think.
The woman had closed her eyes for a while before suddenly opening. Only the whites of her eyes were visible when she opened it as she used all the energy inside of her at once.
Ning realized that the Thinker hadn’t just thought of something at an absurd amount of speed. No, she had gained a piece of knowledge that she should not have known at all.
He looked toward the Teleporter and guessed what piece of knowledge that was.
The Teleporter used his Spark and suddenly the giant sack of Spark vanished, teleported across space to a location that the Thinker had managed to divine.
The Thinker collapsed onto the ground, her body going into sudden shock after taking in too much power and losing it at once. One wasn’t supposed to do this sort of thing very often, but this time it was necessary.
The Cultivator arrived by her side and began healing her. Then, one of them carried her, taking her back to the ship.
The Thinker gained consciousness halfway through and was fine, but she needed help walking. Her body was still weak.
The Teleporter was tired too. He had teleported such a massive behemoth of an object across thousands and thousands of kilometers, either to the ship, but most likely to Urelon itself.
Still, he managed to get everyone into the ship and then got into the ship himself. The tired people slumped onto their seats, happy that their mission was a success, but tired.
One of them handed over a bunch of Spark that was leftover at the place to the people that were on the ship, mainly the Burner, Soaker, and Breather.
The Connector didn’t need much Spark to do his job from where he sat.
With no further delay, the three began pumping fire, water, and air into the back of the ship, while the Attractor pulled the ship toward Urelon by amplifying the force of the gravity of that moon.
The ship slowly began lifting up and away from the asteroid, moving away from the asteroid belt around the planet, making their way back to the giant Rocketship that was now no more than a few hours away from Urelon.
